UPDATE: November 25, 2016

Thank you for visiting my profile page here at Wealthy Affiliate.

It has been about a year and a half since I joined WA. I figured it was time I updated my profile description. I am keeping my initial description I wrote up when I first joined, so if you want, you can learn my history and my reason for working online.

I can honestly say that joining Wealthy Affiliate was one of the best things I did for myself. I not only learned a great deal and increased my skill set, I gained from additional insight into my life and what I truly want it to look like, and I am not sure I could ever go back to working the traditional 9 to 5 job. I enjoy the personal freedom to work from home and spend more time with family. I can take off and go on trips whenever I want, I can go see my son graduate from high school or take him to college and get him settled in or go to a friend's wedding on the other side of the country or whatever I want. I think more and more we are going to see the need to have these Internet marketing skills because traditional jobs are going to become less and less available.

I am delighted to be here and I am even more delighted for the friendships and following I have here at Wealthy Affiliate. It has been a blessing.

April 2015:

I recently moved from one state to another several thousand miles away to help take care of my mother following the loss of my father. I began looking into opportunities online so I can stay and work at home to take care of family matters. I have held many traditional jobs to include being a teacher, librarian, writer and web designer and I have college degrees. But I have found myself in a position where I need to look at other options for establishing an income which allows for more flexibility and time with family. I am very hard working and have many skills already which I am hoping will be an asset in WA. I do look forward to receiving support and the sense of a community which I am hoping this opportunity will bring.

Hi Steph, Just wanted to thank you for your positive outlook about your time with WA. Sometimes we need all the encouragement that we can get. Seems to me that there's an awful lot to learn, but i really think the WA team does there very best to feed it to us, bite by bite.

Hello Steph, hope your day is going well. I wanted to share something with you. I was commenting on another person's site and I had pointed out some errors on his site, anyway another affiliate say my comment on proofreading and gave me a link to a site for a grammar checking app., I have to tell you if you have google chrome you have got to get this app. It is called Grammarly and once installed and applied it checks for all your grammatic and typographical errors as you type. I actually have it running now and it is following my typing and showing solutions as I type. I opened it last night, then went to my site and clicked on a page to edit, the app. immediately went through and did a check and caught 4 mistakes I had made on the first page. It is wonderful and boy oh boy is it going to save us time. AlphaKilo is the affiliate who gave me the link and I am passing it on to you. Sure hope you have google chrome and can use this. Here is the link https://app.grammarly.com/. I know you will appreciate this as much as I do.

So have a wonderful and successful day.

It is great, isn't it? I simply love it. Do you have connected to Google or do you even have Google? It is attached to mine and therefore everything I type on any site or comment on the web it catches the mistakes as I type. My new favorite app. lol
So how are things going for you Steph? Well, I hope. I am making some pretty good progress and liking it a lot.

Take care and stay in touch Steph.

thanks, One niche I was born into and the other was something I acquired because of the other when I couldn't find gainful employment and through trial and error built my own business--a few years ago I started the process to establish a NPO clled International Disabled Entrepreneurs, Inc---to teach people with disabilities to be entrepreneurs. It never got off the ground because I didn't have enough funds to get the 501(c)3 status. At this point eventually I'd like to just set it up as a foundation
Reply
stephhill Premium
I think that is a great idea. That could be your niche if you are able to get up as a foundation. Even if you can't having a website specifically for that purpose is still going to help. You could things like the following:
1. Do a step-by-step tutorial on your website showing them how they can get started as an entrepreneur
2. Arrange for speaking engagements at meetings for adults with disabilities and tell them the benefits of owning your own business.
3. Do some research into grants and see if there are grants for people with disabilities who wish to go into business for themselves. There may not be, but something to look into.

Hi Steph, I just read your profile and boy are qualified. Wish I had that much training. I did take a year of website design and development. I gotta say though I think this is gonna by far more beneficial to me than those 8 months I sat in a class and came out with nothing, well I can't really say nothing I did gain some knowledge of website building and it did give me the itch to choose this as a career.
I also wanted to let you know that I did a review of your "Black Cat" site, however the site froze up right as I was trying to save and post my comments, so you did not get to read it. So, I thought I would just leave my comments here for you.
Here goes: First of all I like your layout and format. I think you have great graphics too. A couple things I did find were, on your blog page under "what to name your black cat" you have a sentence that reads "you and your new beautiful black four-legged companion are going have...." the word "to" is missing. Then on your "Share Your Story" page - second paragraph you have "This website mission is to try...", seems like it would read better if you put "website's mission". Then in the last paragraph, same page, you have "so feel to send.." seems like the word "free" is missing between "feel" and "to".
In your introduction to yourself on the blog page you say :"I am a big fan of black cats and have been applauded at how some people view black cats as evil, bad luck, and so forth." I don't understand why you would be applauded for how others view black cats in a negative manner, it almost sounds like you encourage that attitude and I KNOW YOU DO NOT, maybe I am reading it wrong.
So I like your site and totally agree with it, I found it easy to navigate and enjoyed the personal touch you added to it.
Also wanted to let you know I had a black cat when I was younger, her name was ebony. She was the sweetest thing in the world. Bad ending though, I have 4 brothers and we lived in Alaska at the time, they used her for target practiced with ice balls and killed her. I was completely devastated, my parents offered to get me any cat I wanted to replace her, even a persian if I wanted. I told them there was no way to replace her and it was about 10 years before I got another kitty.
Anyway thank you for your site and the positive light you are shedding on our black four legged fluffy friends/children.

Until later,
Theresa

Oh My Gosh! Thank you so much for finding all of those errors and missing words and grammar in my Black Cat website. I meant to say appalled and not applauded. I will fix all of those typos and errors. You have been so awesome to go through my website so thoroughly and finding all of those mistakes in my writing. What happens is my mind works faster than my fingers when I am writing content so thus, errors occur.

I am so sad to hear of the story about your cat Ebony. That was so sad but so touching too how you spoke about how there was no way to replace her. Would you be willing to share that story on my Share Your Story page? Yes, it is sad but it will also touch people's hearts too and how your brothers treated Ebony is a perfect example of how cruel people can be to black cats. Let me know if you would be okay with that. If you do not have a picture of Ebony and you probably don't, I can use a picture of another black cat. That is the great thing about black cats - they look much alike. :)

Anyways, you are awesome and thank you so much! Please keep in touch and if I can help you in any way please let me know.

Your welcome and yes, absolutely. I would love to share my story, you can either add it with a picture or I will and yes please add a picture.
I know exactly what you mean about your mind is going 1000 miles a minute and the fingers just can't keep up. I felt kinda bad pointing those things out on your website, then I thought I sure hope some one does it for me. (was hoping you wouldn't think I was picking on you) lol
I just put my site up for the first reviews, it is acidicbodynomore.com, please feel free to review it for me, would love to hear from you on it. Also keep in mind I am new and am only on course 2, lesson 4, so it looks pretty bare.

Any way thanks again and we will talk soon I hope.

I will add your Ebony story.....And thank you again. I need to watch my typos as I am writing and thinking at the same time...And of course when we try to edit our own work, we read right over those errors because our minds tell us one thing because we know what we meant and don't see the actual typos.

I will be going in today and correcting those errors.

I will also add the Ebony story. Who should I say it was submitted by? Your first name is Theresa right? Should I say Theresa and is there another name you would prefer I use?

Thanks again!

I can't wait to see what picture you added. I am sure it is close to my girl, (Eb), that's what I called her. Thanks again dear. Will check it out and be back. OK Steph tell me all about Hawaii. I used to fly over and meet my very old Canadian pals there. Last time they did all the booking except my flight. So we started in Honolulu, checked into the hotel and had a number of busy days. Then on to Maui and did the same. By the time we got to the Big Isle we were pretty wrapped with out low cost holiday. Then we realised that my friends' booking agent, although she had been told three people, hadn't booked for me. As hotel rooms usually have an extra bed it didn't dawn on us and the hotel personnel never told us. So when we added up all our costs and split it three ways it really was a low cost holiday.

Now why I really came here was do you want my notes on the second HTTPS live video?

Hi Helen:

Hawaii was awesome. We had lots of busy days too. We stayed at the Disney Alunai Resort - so beautiful. I posted lots of pictures on my personal FB page. https://www.facebook.com/StephanieAnnHill
First day there, we went Scuba Diving in the morning and then Parasailing in the afternoon. Next day, we swam with dolphins in the wild and then snorkeling. We did lots of snorkeling. We also went zip lining through the mountains and forests of Hawaii at Kualoa Ranch (see attached image). We also went on a Self-Propelled Underwater Sub-Scooter. We had so much fun - expensive fun - but we did do groupons for nearly everything including restaurants.

It was a blast. Best vacation I have ever been on....

Hi Terry:

Yes, it is true that I usually post notes on Jays webinars, but unfortunately I was out of town for the past ten days. I was in Hawaii for a week (reference post below) and then I went to Colorado for three days. I just got back last night and had a doctor's appointment this morning which took a long time and I am just now trying to get caught up. I have yet to see the replays of Jays webinar myself but they are on my to-do-list. When I do watch the replay, I will take notes and post them. I am just getting all caught up from my travels. :)

Hi, Steph. I saw this on the Internet and thought you may not know it.
Cats have a very precise method of walking, called “direct registering”, wherein their hind paws fall almost exactly into the place their fore paws did a moment before—this method of walking minimizes noise and visible tracks while ensuring more stable footing as the place has already been felt out by the fore paws.

Steph I just took a peak at your new site. We have had cats all our lives and of all colours from pitch black to albino white, with tortoiseshell and tabbies in between.

And black cats are lovely and do disappear at night until they open their eyes. and they seem to glow. Maybe that's part of the problem.

And all cats seem to have a stigma to certain countries with the result that lots are killed or eaten. And then the rats come and the diseases start again.

I will come back when you are well under way so I can leave some comments.

Out current cat Katie is a hodgepodge of colours.

Steph, I thought I would send a test message and see if you can view an image. I have been having some interesting times. Recently when I go to eject one of my memory sticks it tells me to close the open things. As I don't use it very often at the moment I hadn't actually opened anything. So I fiddled around a bit today and got it to eject. Funnily enough some of the things I was having JS problems with are working now. So of to test some more and see how I go.

Now what image to send. Let me find something good.
First image is of our working restored flour mill. The link is http://www.callingtonmill.com.au/

The second image is of a wonderful tourist attraction (even we residents love going there). http://www.tasmazia.com.au/

Hi Helen:

The images all show up really well. I have never seen a wind-powered flour mill so the pictures were really neat. I also like the photo of the village of Lower Crackpot. I was sort of expecting to see a drug-related image, but could not be further from the truth - cute little gingerbread house look to it.

It sounds like whatever your thumb drive was wanting you to close was somehow tied to your JavaScript issues. Was there a hidden pop-up somewhere do you think?

Anyways, I am glad you were able to get the problem resolved. I am sorry I was not more helpful.

I will be in touch off and on this week, because I am traveling and will be away from home. I am going to a girlfriend's wedding on the other side of the country. You may have seen a website I am working on.. JenEricWedding.info - that is the wedding I am heading off to.

My sincere apologies for getting back to you so late on the reply. I am sorry Stephanie....I had just been thinking about 2 different Marions, one here and my best friend's sister. It likely was the middle of the night. Now I have to go for my first mammogram but wanted to touch base. It is 2:30 here so my goal is to be back on here at 6pm. I wonder if just had a friend or 2 buy their Amazon products through me, I could have avoided having to update my store.
Anyway, thank you for the offer to help and I will look for you on here tonight if you are available.

Hi Narda:

You are quit welcome. I recently had a mammogram too and they are painful aren't they? Squeezing your upper body parts into very uncomfortable positions.

So you had a question regarding Amazon?

Steph
Reply
Narda Premium
What timing ... I just got back this minute ... slow today. At the imaging clinic it certainly was interesting twisting all around like that and seeing upper parts in a brand new way! She was a clown much like myself so it went better than I expected.
Anyway, I had set up a small store with 3 sets of nine products and wondered how to update my account with a new store ID number. My old one ketowithoutbo-20 is no longer valid because of the lack of sales in the first 180 days. The email from Amazon reads that my new ID is set up and open to use now, however, instructions were not forthcoming regarding how to do it. I likely should have waited to monetize the site. The store is definitely not IN YOUR FACE. My brother actually went on my site and asked me how do you make money; you have nothing to sell. He really had to look for it. I just didn't want anyone to think that was my main reason for setting up the site. Honestly, I can't even remember how I set up the store in the first place.
By the way, I love the wedding story. I have a similar one so I really could relate. I am enjoying following this especially as weddings were my business for many years. 208 weddings since 1986. Everything from booking hotel rooms to making sure the speeches were done properly (toastmastering). Sorry for going off there on that tangent.
If you know how I can switch up that store ID, that would be great.
Another tangent: I enjoyed reading your interview with Loes. You have so much wonderful experience. This place is so much more pleasant than a lot of work environments. No caddy people to deal with. I love it. Everyone reaches out to help instead leaving people to fend for themselves. What you give away you get back ten fold.
Thank you, Stephanie.

Hi:

I am glad to help. I too have multiple tracking IDs for my Amazon aStores. I have three of them. I have an aStore for each Tracking ID.

They are as follows:
jenericwedding-20
acrossadeadly-20
acradeafie-20

To access them, sign into your Amazon Associates admin area and go to Product Links > drop down menu select aStore. You will see something similar as what I have attached to this message (see screen shot). You said you have two tracking IDs, so you should see two listed. In the upper right hand corner, you will see a gray box next to the words Tracking ID. You can select the one you want to build from by clicking on the gray box and choosing the Tracking ID you want to use.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the wedding website I am working on. I am happy to do it for my friend and her fiancé. I agree their story is pretty terrific. I have monetized that particular website in hopes of making some money from it. I have not made anything yet, but the wedding is not for another two months. Al of the hotel and flight widgets are monetized as well as the Amazon widgets and the Groupon widgets are also monetized.

Hope those instructions help out. Let me know if they do not help and what questions you may have.

Happy Anniversary at midnight. Rob has informed me that you are an amazon pro. If you could let me know a rough time when you are online, I would love to ask you about the store I have. My account number was changed so I have to change it everywhere. I just wondered how hard this will be. Thanks Marion. I hope all is well with you! Take care. ~Narda

Hello Steph,

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Arthur and I am absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of training that you have available.

A lot of it is highly relevant to me and will come in very useful. I just wanted to say a big thank you for making it all available!
I am also an educator and one of my hobbies which I started with when I was 12 years old, is wargaming!

Kind regards,
~Arthur

Hi Arthur:

Super big pleasure meeting for many reasons. Thank you first of all for the compliment on the training resources I have created here at WA. Also, I love meeting other educators. It has always been a passion of mine to teach others valuable skills that will help them succeed in their journey towards whatever they wish to achieve. And last but not least, since you are a fan of wargaming, you probably heard of my father, John Hill - my first site I designed here at WA was a tribute site to my late father - acrossadeadlyfield.com!

Thanks again for your message and please keep in touch. Please feel free to send me a PM anytime.

Sincerely
Steph

Thanks for your reply Steph, I already know about your dad's site (beautifully well-designed ) which was featured in the interview that Loess conducted with you.

You may be interested to know that when I was still a university student I used to play the board game Squad Leader with like-minded students and we often bunked lectures for this purpose :))!

I will definitely take you up on your kind offer to PM, thank you! I look forward to learning from your training. Here's to the concept of Life Long Learning, may it never cease!

Warm regards,
~Arthur

Hi Arthur:

I figured you probably already knew of my father's website from somewhere since you mentioned wargaming. Thanks for the compliment. I was making some tweaks to it. I have decided to start an email sign up list with a monthly newsletter. I was not sure if I could take on any more projects, but it will good.

I liked your story about when you were a university student and you blew off your classes to play wargames. Those are the kind of stories my father would have loved to hear as he also did that too when he was in college.

Glad to hear you know to take me up on my offer to PM me anytime. And yes, I always live by the concept of Life Long Learning. :)

Hi Steph
Today is milestone day for me. Iv created a training course.
My website has began to start filling up with content that i thought could be a easily put together in a training course, leaving my website less infomation packed.

Im wondering, if you think it has any value. I would greatly appreciate the feedback if you have the time.

Hi Stephhill,

Google adwords found my affiliate accounts, so I am trying to do SEO with my one page lander, which I built & uploaded to my domain thr instapage.

A quick question, do I have to rebuild the page in wordpress, in order to do SEO, I am new to this SEO. Or is there any shortcut for it?

Many thanks & kind regards,
Pei

No, you don't have to rebuild your page in WordPress in order to do SEO. On my website I provide a way to do what is know as alphabet soup which is an SEO technique. That can be used for any platform you build a website. http://legitimateonlineopportunity.com

Hi Steph. Thanks for following back. I was the full time care giver to my parents too for over ten years. That's why my home based photography business was perfect for me. Since I closed that and started working at a "real" job I've been looking for another home based business. (I was spoiled by having the first one) I think that this is a great place to give me the tools that I need. Thanks again.

Hi Stuart!

Thank you for visiting my profile page and for reading my profile and I guess you can call it "my why" - it seems so common how so many of us end up needing to create a business online so that we can care for our elderly parents. I am thrilled to take care of my mom. I wish I had been there more for my Dad when he was still living. I guess you can say I was guilty of taking it all for granted - like I think I thought, they would be around for a long time and then suddenly life gives you a wake up call.

Thank you for reading and visiting and commenting. I wish you much success here at WA. I know you can make it happen.

HI again Steph. The more you tell me, your story is exactly the same as mine. I had both my parents in the house with me until my father past away. I still kept my mother in the house for a number of years until she needed assisted living. Eventually she past away there a couple of years ago. You're doing a great thing. Karma will pay you back one day.

I love that Karma. Sometimes bad things can happen which result in some big blessings. The loss of my father was sudden and unexpected. He was only 69 - not old at all and he took care of himself, so it was a shock but a huge realization just how short life really is. My parents were together 46 years so it was a shock to mom and she is fine leaving the house on your own, but she needs help with certain things especially things involving Dad's estate and assets. My mother is not at all a computer person and everything has to be done online these days, so I am continually working on those things and providing meals, etc. b/c she has been too depressed to a lot these days.

But yes, our stories do sound similar and I appreciate you reaching out to me.

Hello Steph, I hope that WA has worked out for you in terms of looking after your family's needs. You have achieved a lot here in 9 months. I'm still very new to all of this - but working consistently through the courses.

I shall pop over to your various social networks and join with you there also.

Please do pop over. I just started my FB business page recently - www.facebook.com/legitimateonlineopportunity - and would love to connect with you there.

I am still not making what I was hoping but it is coming a little here and there. Great meeting you.
