Learning & Laughter 22 - Not What it Seems

I know I have mentioned what I am about to share with you today once or twice before in other blogs, but it is worth mentioning it again for those who are newbies to my blogs or who have just not absorbed this simple to remember fact.

As you should know if you are at least half way through the training, using a lot of affiliate links all over your website is a bad thing in the eyes of Google and the other search engines. Not only is a lot of affiliate links bad, but having them on every page and post is toxic. We are talking skull and crossbones toxic.

WAYS TO GET AROUND THIS

However there are ways to get around this problem of not having affiliate links on every page and post as well as too many affiliate links overall. These ways will not always work to a big advantage but they can help. So let me explain the two ways I use on my Legitimate Job From Home website.

I picked the 2 affiliate banner ads I wanted to show all the time on every page and post and I placed them within a text widget in my right sidebar. Being that the sidebars and footers are common areas on a website and appear on every page and post, placing the ads there will not hurt my SEO rankings.

It is the placing of links, whether text, banner or images within the content that Google will punish you for if you overload that area. But did you know that there is a way for you to get around that too as far as a Wealthy Affiliate affiliate link is concerned?

DECEPTION

Did you know that you can share the non-affiliate link of anything you write (blog, training, discussion) here within WA and it will still act the same as if you used your affiliate link? Yes indeed! If you are the person that created the WA content, you DO NOT need to use your affiliate link and it still will act as an affiliate link should a non-member join from that content.

Do you see the benefits? You could create a page or post on your website and place 3 links to 3 of your WA blogs and Google will not see them as affiliate links because they are not. But if someone joins WA through that content you will still get the referral credit just like you would when you share an affiliate link.

That’s a great feature created by Kyle & Carson, which is the reason why you can get a referral credit for anyone who joins WA through any of your WA blogs, seeing how anyone can access them on Google. I have links to several of my WA blogs within my website, and I have received referrals from them too!

So if you have written any WA blogs that are relevant to what you are creating on your website, link to them! Google will not see them as affiliate links, even though technically they are. What a great deception. Sometimes I create WA blogs just for this purpose, so I can link to them from my website. Being that ALL WA blogs get indexed into Google, I create most of them like I do my website content by using keywords.

IT IS BUT IT ISN’T

So if you can think of a way to fit a link to one of your WA blogs into your website content, you will have an affiliate link to WA that really isn’t an affiliate link to any of the search engines. Sometimes things may appear to be one way like in the picture below…

HOLD ON A MINUTE! DO NOT GET ALL BOTHERED BY THAT IMAGE…KEEP READING! Like I was saying! Sometimes things may appear to be one way but in actuality they are something totally different. For example, did you know that there was a way for any guy with a big belly to have 6-pack abs?

Oh if it were only that easy. But like many things as you get older, it is harder to maintain that which you had when you were younger. Take for instance this next image. If you can read what it says without glasses or contacts and without “squinting” your eyes, then you are doing pretty good.

Yes sometimes our eyes will play tricks on us and make things appear not as they seem. If you cannot read that the above image says “Bad Eyes” then you do have bad eyes. But can you see what is wrong with the picture below of the dancing couples? Does a Billy Idol song come to mind?

Sometimes we see things and we wonder WTF? Sort of similar to what I said when I first saw this picture, which I posted on my Google+ profile last week. I basically asked the question to those that like bacon, is this what you use during sex?

This is not what it seems. It is not lube per se but a bacon flavored massage oil. Hey why not? There is bacon flavored soda and bacon flavored ale brewed by Rogue of Oregon, which I have had a couple of times and goes great with a bacon pizza.

I guess it is for those who want to have their sex and bacon too. LOL Oh and speaking about sex, remember that first image of the shadow of the man behind the woman in what LOOKED LIKE them having sex? It is “not what it seems” and in reality is…

A GAME OF BEER PONG! And you thought it was something else. Shame on you! Now for some comic relief of appearance not being what it seems. Check out how this comedian comes dressed to his comedic interview on the David Letterman show, click the link below. It was very rare that this comic ever gave a straight non-comedic interview. ENJOY!

Hey Robert, almost stop reading your post when I saw the first image. lol. So right when you say: "sometimes things may appear to be one way." Thank you for that affiliate link tips.

-Bishop

You are welcome Bishop. I thought it was funny when I saw the first picture was actually the shadow of two people playing beer pong. lol

But coming from you, I know it can't be real. I know the kind of person you are, so I kept on reading. PEACE!

Always good for a few chuckles, Robert. I like the idea of the Bacon Lube. Hey, I'm an Old Fart not a dead one. :-)

LOL We are never too old for some bacon fun.

Thanks again, question: When you share WA blogs on your website, Do you use the affiliate link button? Or do you use the URL on top?

If they are my blogs, training, discussions, I just copy the url at the top because as the author of the content I do not need to use the affiliate link. This is why I can use them in my content and not have Google punish me.

The affiliate link from the button should only be used for content that you are not the author of.

Thanks, I have set one page on no follow, there are over 50 affiliatelinks on it:)

50? Why so many?

Thank you Dick. Happy you liked it.

Hey Robert, I thought I had bad eyes until I squinted. I can see now! Lol

Just walk around with squinty eyes all day and you'll be fine. lol

No squinty eyes for me, that will just bring on the crows feet.

You have a point. lol

Humor and education... Huducation, by Robert!

Well done!

By the way, ChrisGooden just did a blog at Apparently he had trouble putting a YouTube link in that blog, a difficulty shared by Kathy 331. Did you do anything special to make your YouTube video link work?

There's a little thread in the comments for that blog post about the difficulty they've experienced. Care to weigh in?

Dennis

Thanks for the boost, Prestones, I also PM'd him. Hope to hear soon.

Huducation. LOL

I have replied to Chris' blog with my 5-steps to getting my YouTube video link to stick.

Good advice Robert. Thanks again for the laughter. :)

You are welcome Jean.

A good lesson I have enjoyed, our blogs are linked to our affiliate programs. Cheers for that.
