Have Your Expectations Changed From Fast Profits to Effort = Rewards?
A lot of people who come to Wealthy Affiliate want to make money!
Considering we are encouraging people that we can help them be Wealthy, they are coming to the right place.
Unfortunately, the part of our brain that wants money, also wants it now! We have an emotional reaction to Wealth and to the things that we can buy with it.
Every day we are bombarded with advertising trying to create an emotional connection with us and the product they are trying to sell. This emotional connection makes us want to buy their product so we can experience the emotional satisfaction that we are being promised.
With so many strong desires for things that require money, it is no surprise that many of us really want to get more money and are in a rush to do it.
People who are able to make money and build wealth are then able to introduce logic into their thinking to keep things in perspective, make a plan on how to create the wealth they want without spending all their money on every product that appeals to them.
When I first came to Wealthy Affiliate, I came because of the promise of making money through effort, not through some magic scheme of getting rich overnight ( ie It didn't sound like a scam )
Having said that, I still had the expectation that I was going to start making a lot of money within the first couple of months. When this didn't happen, I got discouraged and focused on other things.
Now I have thought about things more and realized that while profits are not easy to attain, they are very achievable. The reason not everyone makes a profit from internet marketing is because it requires a lot of hard work and dedication.
I would love to hear how your attitudes have changed since coming to Wealthy Affiliate, surely I'm not the only long term (more than a month) member who came wanting to make some fast money and decided to stick around when it didn't happen as quickly as I wanted it to.

When i create a business i see The Money as The point like sport. And when i earn Money i have hit The target when im not make Money i have to try better, i often Think People forget This when they want to create business. So my filosofi is Do not Think of Money they come when youre good enoth
I had no expectations of a quick road to money. I realized it would be a longer road and a challenge. But that's what happens when you pile on the years. LOL
I realized from the beginning it would take a lot of hours to set this up, and I gave myself three years to accomplishe a good healthy and firm business, so I have my first bit of money in my account by now, to little to pay out, because there is a payout minumum:) but I have 2 years and 9 months to work on it left, and I really know I am gone make it!
Somehow I have a very relaxed approach towards the "goal". No idea why, but I find all the new stuff, new gadgets, features, insights and tools very amusing and interesting. Overall I am glad I enjoy the journey and not only having the goal at focus.
ps: 6 hours ago I told myself, create a couple of posts now and get it done. ....... Something happened along the way.^^)
My attitude hasn't changed much either and I think it's because the one who showed me this site told me from the beginning that it wasn't a get rich place. I had been scammed so many times it's kind of embarressing to admit, but I know I'm not the only one. He has helped me a lot and gives good advice and answers questions as well as others on here that have the knowledge to help. By following Kyle and Carson's lessons we are learning the right way to set up a business. I agree with Carla, a little money here pretty soon would be nice. I know it will be here if I don't quit. :)
I said in my profile when I first started that I wasn't money motivated. Not that I'm opposed to making money, quite the contrary. My thoughts were that if it was possible to make money online, than I could do it.
I was figuring to find a mentor, to help me reach some level of success in about three months. I haven't found that mentor, I've received a lot of help, but No Mentor. It's going to take me longer than three months.
I'm okay with that, as long as I'm moving in the right direction, that I'm enjoying the learning and the work. Primarily that i'm enjoyimg the journey with the people who are on the same road I've chosen.
All thing considered I'm very happy. I don't know how long it's going to take. I'm in it for the long haul, and it's going to take as long as it's going to take.
I figured out when i was researching and writing blogs on the payday loan laws state by state ........ I knew I would be here a while..... lol
Mine hasn't changed much either. For one thing, my mentor here, a very wise man, told me from the get-go that it would take time. His words are, "It's a marathon, NOT a sprint." Then something I read of Kyle's said he didn't make a cent for the first three months. I gave myself a year to do this thing. I'm three months along and I feel I've made good progress and I've learned a LOT. I'm wiling to take the time. But, yes, some more money NOW would be nice. LOLOL
My attitude has not changed so much as been confirmed. I went with a get rich scheme before and realized after 6 months that internet marketing is a very hard business. You don't get rich quick. There is a lot to learn. I am so glad I am now with WA where I can learn the correct way to build a business that will eventually make me a great deal of money.

I'm with Loes on the 3 years at least...but I am confident it won't take that long. And if it doesn't, I will keep on and with great expectations never the less.
