Hi Rudy

The WA conversational writer is more casual and tends to be less factual than the formal writer, although it’s not always easy to tell them apart, depending on the niche.

When I use the conversational writer, I drop the output into a GPT I created, which reformats it to my liking and adds my personality.

Frank 🎸

Awesome. What parameters did you use to create that GPT?

Rudy

Add H3 tags where appropriate, remove cliches and metaphors, and create stylistic writing patterns.

Thats great. Ive had the option to create a GPT but had no idea of how to do so!

Rudy

It’s as easy, Rudy. You basically create an “extended prompt” and then test & refine it to meet the particular needs of your niche. 😎

Frank 🎸

Cool, Ill try doing that!

Thanks, Frank!

Rudy

You’re welcome Rudy. 😎

Frank 🎸

Great question, Rudy.

I've only been using the Conversational blogger. I will follow along here and see what other members are saying. Thank you, Rudy!

Have a wonderful new week!

Rudy

I've used the AI in here for a couple of articles, and I tried both, but I don't see a place where you can tell which writer wrote which article, which is what I think that you're looking for.

Was there a particular reason you were wondering?

Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for...grin.

I have used both, and wanted to see if I could find outbwhich one I used the most.

One or the other requires much editing, and I wanted to test that theory.

Thanks!

Rudy

I do know that I only used the conversational blogger once, and the writing wasn't anything close to my style. I had to pretty much re-write that entire article. The professional copywriter seemed to match my style of writing better, and was much easier to work with.

I agree. Buth have 2 samplings, I wish there were a wider sampling though. Hard to compare when not relevant.

Thats why I use the 3 section setting. Saves on rewrite plus the added contenr increases the volume!

Win-win in my book.

Rudy

Hey Rudy,

There are all sorts of different detection tools to choose from that will help you discover AI written content on someone's website. See screen print below...

It is never a good idea to totally depend on ANY AI tool to write content for you, as it will eventually... if not straight away... hurt your site's rank.

Which is why asking for help to simply suggest 'framing' or laying out a specific topic and then getting to work doing the necessary researching and writing is the better way to use AI tools.

Using AI tools may even help you with spelling... though using Grammarly is a tool I've seen being recommended most by pros, for that sort of help.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, Trish.

Im speaking directly abiut the Hubs here at WA. When we create articles using the Hubs AI, how do we know which (Ai writer) we have used once written?

Both styles offered vary yet are aimilar based on the content topic.

I agree about the use you mentioned regarding AI. I use it simply as a tool, and fill in the rest. Ai is a great tool to use for outlining an article.

And I really enjoy the article titles that come up when using keywords.

Thanks again, Trish!

Hi Rudy

It’s probably a good (user friendly) option for your clients to have access to basic site analytics.

I don’t bother with it. Everything I need is in GSC and GA4.

Frank 🎸

Yeah, thats true. Sitekit used to push the Yoast tool.

Since Im also maintaining the website, I want to keep it simple...grin.

Rudy

I dropped it a few years ago and am trying it again. It is much improved now.
:-)
Richard

That's so glad to know, Richard :) I don't use the plugin.

Thanks, Richard.

Yes, that's why the shout out. I wanted to add it for ease of use with a client's website. I will add it again to see.

However, If I decide to deactivate it, what will that do to my GA4 , will I stay connected to it, or have to install separately ?

When you activate it you are prompted to either keep existing GA tags in place or install from Sitekit. I opted to keep existing tags in place (I use the WPCode plugin for that). Just be careful to not install the tag twice.
;-)
Richarrd

Yes, thats true, I recall that being an option. And yes, the WP code sure makes rhat easy!

Thanks,

Rudy

Sorry, I forgot to say, when you deactivate Sitekit you lose the GA tag implementation. This is why when I set it up I leave my tags in place in WPCode (they can be set up via any method you like that works). That way you can try out sitekit and simply leave the tags as they are.
;-)
Richard

Good to know, thanks, Richard!

Rudy

There is also an independent kit that is very light. I have a funny feeling it depends on the theme you run if it (sitckit) slows down your site, or not.

Which lit kit are you referring to, Z?

Rudy

I don't; I have space for the code in my premium theme.

Plus, you can always log in to GSC & GA to find out what it is rather than looking at the site kit.

However, the training here at WA has it... Also, Jay shows how to have it or not. Both ways... (with or without the site kit)

Sitekit is considered to be lightweight, how much code does it carry that you can't use it on a premium theme?

It has been known to slow down the website, as I don't use it. I am not aware if it does or does not, Rudy.

Pay Per Click Marketing

I built a website recently for a client, and they want to advertise.

I'm not well-versed in this department, and am looking for some answers on the best ways that reap

Direct Mail Postcards at 53 cents each via the USPS, with a QR Code directing to the landing page or website.

- A measurable expense that is fairly consistent.
- A physical postcard is more likely to be delivered to a human than an email or a digital AD.
- A physical postcard will last considerably longer than a click on the internet.
- Lists are available to buy targeted to geographic and demographic audiences.

I see you have been doing this for a while, I believe. How has it been going for you.
It is certainly a novel way to do it.
So

It’s going… ok.

It is an expense, but it is a number that is consistent and I’m confident that it’s a human receiving the content (and not a bot 🤖).

I think a LOT of the data we see in analytics is deceptive because it’s not human or it’s a millisecond of view time that still registers as a view. (Even though it was essentially a quick swipe left or right or up or down)

Good thinking about the bots. Like anything I guess it comes down to persistency.

I believe that Google Ads and Bing Ads can give the best ROI but you have to be very careful. Set a small budget, run for a fixed time so you know exactly what it will cost, and thoroughly analyze the data every day.

Thanks, Phil. I appreciate your input!

Rudy

I like it :) And it is true taking Google out of the equation.

You have to be very careful not to let it run away with you.

Out of budget and losing shirts 🤣🤣🙏

A fair warning!

Hey Rudy,

Does there website have lots of helpful posts on it?

If so, the least expensive method is sharing that helpful content on their social media accounts and responding to any comments they receive, in a timely manner.

Paying for ads gets REAL expensive without results when you don't know what you're doing.

They might even consider creating a contest to get even more engagement on their posts.

Just my take on this...

Hope you find this helpful.

Hey Trish,

So far, the website went live end of March, has three or four blog post, 2 are indexed. I'm in the process of explaining (via email) to the client that websites need content added consistently for the best results.

Although she does have a budget for paid ads, I'm hesitant to give the go ahead.

They do have a contest, a monthly giveaway, and I'm using a cool plugin called Simple Giveaways that has shortcode that i can add to her FB , and Pinterest accounts.

Thanks, Trish, much appreciated!

Rudy

PS> As I do not have a FB account, I'm following Jay's training on how to build my first FB page.

I promote a pin on Pintrest. Mostly ladies (70%) viewing the pins. Guys hate picture shopping it seems. lol

Hey Rudy,

Is this for a local business?
If so, then I would consider Facebook as you can set the demographic to be hyper local.

Thanks, Jay. Yes, it IS for a local business. I will be heading over to your How to build a FB page series in a few minutes.

Hi - just to follow up on this, it's not possible to delete your own training, whether published or draft, Kyle has to do it for you.

Ohh. Thanks for the followup, I wondered if that was the case, either Kyle or site support.

Rudy

Having said that, I asked Kyle to delete all my training, including drafts, and now they do not show as listed on my profile.

BUT, if I click on them in my favorites list, I can still see them in their entirety, it just says "disabled" at the top of them.

So, it appears they can't be deleted completely.

Interesting. If the training is not deleted, will it be visible in a search?

I don't know, to be honest.

I tried searching for a couple of them on Google and couldn't see them, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything!

I meant searched here on WA. I never thought about searching elsewhere for the training.

Following as I also want to remove a training I've done :)

You can do any of your text training, click the cogwheel, then choose the first option, 'new resource, video training,' seeing your comment to Carson.

(See images)

*Only selected folks can do Vlogs.

Hi - well over a year ago, I remember talking to Kyle about this, he stated at the time, that eventually only "certain" members were going to be allowed to create training.

He didn't clarify what he meant, but I suspect that now, only "super affiliates" can create training, and even then, only video blogs.

The option to see how far along we were in the training levels, to see if we were close to getting paid, was removed a long time ago.

I haven't been paid for any training since September last year, and training that I created 7 months ago, has never been paid, despite being consistently in the top 10.

But, was it ever really worth it, potentially spending hours creating something in return for $5?

Great points, Diane. I was surprised that I received any payment, I guess I was was one of the 'chosen ones' who was able to create tutorial/trainings...grin.

I dont recall the last time I was paid for a training, seemed like it was about that same time, last September.

What I've learned is HOW to create tutorials that will be combined in bundles of courses to offer my website visitors.

Re the video blog, Carson didnt mention anything in his reply, buy I don't see any non-premium plus members making video blogs.

Thanks for your comments, Diane...

Rudy

Hi Rudy,

We've moved over to using the BLOG platform to offer training to others here within the community. So, instead of going over to the legacy training tab on your profile, create a new blog post and add your training there.

Blog posts are where members of the platform can offer training of their own and it will be indexed in our search and is sharable.

In regards to deleting a draft in the old training platform, perhaps take anything you were working on and move it over to a blog post and publish it there.

Cheers,

Carson

Thanks, Carson!

So, what you're saying is that our trainings are now considered 'blog' activity?

If so, do we still 'earn' credits from our published training ?

Is there a post link you could share about this move? I didn't find a training tab, that has been removed from the drop down. I selected my list of published training from my profile page.

Are you saying that THAT training tab will be removed from our profile page?

And yes, when I tried to delete the trainings, a while ago, even then I found that I could only remove the content, of which I have already done so.

And how does one post a video blog?

Thanks,

Rudy

Bug Thread: I might be wrong, but I think they phased out members creating their own training recently. I don't have the option to create any training either.

Thanks, Andy...I knew there was one somewhere...grin.

It's what matters at the end of the day Catherine, so I totally understand your point.

Domain Authority is only a metric which is supposed to give you a rough idea of where you stand amongst your competitors.

We shouldn't worry too much about the specific number, but generally, an increasing DA can give us some hope that we may be earning more down the line as a result of increasing traffic.

So it's not like it's completely out the equation, don't you think?

Best way Rudy

Thanks, folks!

Yeah, Moz is a good one, just used it today!

Somehow, I get an email report from Semrush on one of my websites, I don't recall why, prob after a free trial.

Rudy

Domain Authority is a search engine ranking score developed by MOZ and used by others to predict how likely a website is to rank in search engine result pages (SERPs).

I have read good/ bad about it and have decided it's not for me. I stick with WA and the tools here, but that is just my two cents worth.

I would suggest checking out MOZ, seeing what they have and how much it costs, and going from there - pretty expensive IMO.

Thanks, Digger.
