My blog is old---almost 10 years. I have thousands of posts, but yet not enough income to buy a sandwich. I'm on the fence of just selling it and hopefully getting a good payo

Hey Lisa - Hope you enjoyed the beach. I know - that is were you want to be now - OK back to work

I just look at the post "IS PADDLEBOARDING A WORKOUT?" - Liked it on FB - Good Post except---------

I checked and paddleboarding, and it is searched as 2 words. Spelling it as 1 word will give no searches while spelling it as paddle boarding jumps you up to 72 searches a month and no competitor. ie page 1.

This seems a little strange, but it becomes vital - we are looking for the searches so as to get the traffic to see us. try it and see what happens.

Also, logic can get in our way some times. Maybe you should "dumb" down the writing a little more. Read thru it yourself. Only read it thru then reread it with:

paddle boards vs boards

Shorter/less complex sentence structure - example:

Change - "The paddling is a great arm/shoulder workout and my legs were working hard to keep me from falling off."
to read
The paddling provides a great arm and shoulder work out. Note that will also receive a work out, and a hard one, keeping yourself on the paddle board. At least mine did.

These are subtle changes, but may help.

Oh yeah - a "To Do" so you don't miss the boat (in this case - paddle board or paddleboard) - here is where you can write your own ebook guide about

See you tomorrow FYI - I'm off Wed thru Fri

Yes and thank you!!!! I so appreciate all your help!! Someday.....I'm going live at the beach, right? :)

Right

However for now its that lovely home of yours.

Check out the training on Friday - it should be good.

Pretty interesting.

What is your method of monetisation? ads? adsense or similar program? membership site? Product reviews?

For what it's worth my site was underperforming and still is slightly
(approx $80 per 1000 sessions, I call $100/1000 sessions kinda normal). It was performing at $60/1000 sessions, I managed to pull that number up by doing more reviews, and increased earnings per click considerably (more than 200%) by having ladder posts.

question is, is your site too helpful and under commercialised (if it is an affiliate site?) if so - bang on with more reviews?

On the reviews - how targeted are your keywords are they audience specific (this is what shot up my earnings per click from 40 or 50 cents to $1.20-$1.40) also are you using buyer type keywords such as:

Product +review
Best +Product
Where to buy +product
Where to buy best +product
Product +on sale
Buy +product.

Those are only a few general example, I'm sure you can think of more buyer type keywords for your niche. Also are you creating traffic funnels for the commercialised content?

E.g.

How to use +product your reviewed
Top ideas for +Product you reviewed
How to get the best out of +product you reviewed

and funnel all those visitors to your review of the specific product that you are talking about by mentioning it through out and specifically at the end of those types of posts.

And it is a pretty good site that you have. I have noticed you have on the side bar some affiliate ads linking out with the affiliate link. do internal links to product reviews of those products - your audience will be wanting to know your thoughts on that (those) specific product and your thoughts on them and would probably convert better. Also, internal link Vs an External link on your home page is much better SEO wise and you are not immediately inviting people to leave your page straight away.

For the traffic that you currently have 300 daily, you ought to be buying sandwiches for your entire neighbourhood! Work on that, fix the issues where you see fit 'cos its a great site with great content defo has really good potential!

Your numbers are exceptional.

The values you gave per click should be dependent on products types.

What is a ladder post?

Thank you so much!

Thank you kindly sir.

A ladder post - AKA pillar post. Top 5... top 10..best ways to..ya know!

My pleasure :-)

Great site! make your product review category and recommended products page more visible/ I had to look and search for your product reviews. A lot of your visitors might not know and probably don't know that there are products that you have reviewed and recommended. make it easy for them to find like along the top where your other categories are.

I have gone through a few of your product reviews. If I was you I'd remove the ads for other products (like the egg protein for example) as what you are doing is distracting a genuinely interested reader and taking them away from your actual review - the page they landed or ended up on.

Someone mentioned it before oneBluemoon CTA Call to action will help you. I have checked 4/5 reviews and have not seen one yet other than vague clickable texts that are not exactly enticing me to click them (hovered over out of curiosity to find out if they were your links).

Be straight and tell people what to do and they will do it. Be click here for more info (and it goes to the merchant) or stronger click here to buy. without these direct instructions (calls to action) your visitor - potential buyer or regular visitor buyer does nt know what to do next. they are left on the page not knowing where to navigate to next be to a merchant page or another article for more info.

A great tip I picked up on here was to always link to a review (related product) on every single page and the review pages --> to merchant site.

Let me/us all know how you get on.

Such a cool catchy site name very memorable.

OK, now I understand. My experience with such posts is indeed good, one is featured post in Google. But to tell you frankly, do not like to write such posts, annoying, take a lot of time.

thank you so much! i will work on this! Do you have any suggestions on how to keep all affliate links easily accessible? I never seem to have luck with things like clickbank or shareasale.

My fave is a pretty simple and in H3 or H2 tag as big as possible to be on one line

thank you

A site with such an amount of content and such an age should generate a lot of income. Something is wrong.

To have sales you have to have traffic, so what is the traffic? To have traffic you have to be ranked, unless you are focusing on social media. So to make a rough estimate, 10 % of page views should be your number of clicks. Then 5 - 15 % of these should be your conversion.

It all starts with ranking. It is pointless publishing texts that are not top ranked.

now, it gets about 300 visits per day. In the past, that number was around 1000. I see your point about posts, but I can only post the same topics so many different ways/times, right? I'm definitely open to constructive criticism, am i allowed to post my url? Thanks!

Check your statistics and see if you can do something of what Derek suggested. But I think his numbers are too good, they may demoralize you. One of my sites has even better numbers of what he gives, but the other is far below although I am doing the same in both. It depends a lot on how focused the site is.

ok, thanks. I'm hopeful for a few sandwiches at this point, lol! My niche also has a lot of competition, although when I started it had none. So i have to take that into consideration as well. These days I'm thinking it might take some topless pics to bring in the traffic, hahaha! (just a joke!!!)

Topless pics will always work, at least for 1/2 of the population.

It makes sense what you say, you started so long ago, everything has changed.

The value of the site is based on it's income. No one will pay based on what it might earn in the future.

So better for you to look at how best to monetize existing high ranking posts that get good traffic.

If you have traffic but no revenue, you might need to work on your CTA (call-to-action), and improve your conversion rate. May I also suggest you check out Jay's relevant trainings?

I would think you need to find out the exact issue first before trying to fix it.

ok,thanks!

Go to site feedback and get some feedback on it, because you didn't leave your URL for us.

(There must be something wrong if you are having the issues you think you having.)

ok, thank you

I'm confused - why would you expect a good payout if there's not much happening in terms of sales? (And traffic?)

*Not being snarky - just trying to understand what your expectations are founded on?

Yes, that's a good point. I just figured someone with better skills could turn it around and make something of it, since I've read so many posts about how age/number of posts is so important.

I have a lot of content on my website, but not a lot of traffic. I never really paid much attention to SEO and keywords and well.....now I'm trying to monetize so I need to do

I would focus on new content going forward.
