About Maddy55
Joined January 2017
I am a Canadian living in Manitoba (central Canada). I have owned and operated a Dog and Cat boarding kennel for over 23 years (now 'retired'), and was also a Dog Groomer for over 12 years. I love and 'own' 2 horses, 2 dogs, 5 cats and 20 chickens. I would have more if we had the room. Married for 37 years with two grown sons (one married with a son and the other not yet married) and 2 grandchildren. I am not new to the world of website building. With my first website, I started with a very clumsy platform called Homestead. Then I moved onto a user friendly Weebly platform. I am presently the owner of 3 websites, one was simply an informational website (with Weebly) for my physical business, the Dog and Cat boarding kennel. The last two I have built here in WA. I don't think I would have built these WordPress websites without WA, I am thankful I found you all. The help here is priceless!

Well done. What is your new website's name and what did you use to build that? I have built websites from scratch using just HTML but the results were never brilliant. I'm now trying to get to grips with Wordpress, for the second time and hopefully will do better with WA than previously! Wishing you all the best for the future.

WordPress makes the whole process so much easier :) If you have built websites from scratch the 'hard way', you will do well with the user platform of Word Press, soon to be 'Gutenberg'. I have one of my websites listed down below in my Profile, lower right hand corner. I also have another younger site, which is based on Cannabis LOL I haven't listed that one yet, but with Canada stepping out and legalizing Marijuana recreationally tomorrow, Oct. 17, 2018.... I may be brave enough to do so here :) Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for the follows fellow WA'ers :) It's been a busy summer for me since retiring from my dog boarding business. I thought I would have lots of spare time, but it seems I was wrong! LOL! I have not had the time or the energy and focus to spend much time here on WA but sadly I have been slipping in writing posts too. The outdoors calls me more often, with lots of gardening, yard work etc.
I have had some very ill animals to care for, one horse and one chicken. I am happy to be able to say, they are recovering well now. I found a injured Woodpecker yesterday, I believe it slammed into our living room window. I did not want my bird hunting cats to get him or her so I placed the young woodpecker into a cat kennel with some bird seed and water. We shall see if birdie recovers. Every weekend there seems to be festivals here and there, music events etc, after all it's summer time right!

You expressed your passion in your Bio! Hello, I am a newbie. I joined July 12, 2018. I just started following you. I am just looking around WA trying to get ideas about my niche, target audience, and my direction. I have not decided much of anything yet. I have decided to complete the Affiliate Boot camp training to promote WA instead of the Online Entrepreneur Certification.

Any ideas are helpful.....

Again, Nice to meet you!

Hi Maddy ,
While in Brazil I always had two doctors ( my father for colds and little other things - he was an allopathic doctor and the other was a homeopathic doctor )this is to show you how much I believe on natural medicine ( herbs, roots etc).
You have It knowledge and I use excel spreadsheets while working as an international consultant to analyse and correct businesses that I was the designated professional. The new versions I have just to become acquainted but I endorse your view that they are fantastic and helpful. Try to break the one you're using and explain to your suppliers exactly what and where the data you asking should be posted . Hahaha
All success Maddy with your new businesses goals.

Hello Maddy 55,
Marcus again but at this time to thank you for your following note and having the opportunity to know you a bit more.
I also have two sons the older is married and has two boys and a girl and lives 20 kms away west Toronto downtown . My young one is single and is Managing a language school in Costa Rica and enjoying his life.
Myself coming back after 12 yrs away from Canada and from those , 9 yrs staying in Beijing, China. I got back on July 2014 and a yr later decided to start an e-commerce business opening my first store which I close it 2 mths ago . Last year decided to become more aggressive and opened another one at this time using a different platform. Many things happen to me in the 11/2 yrs and I decided to close both stores and learn and understand better this e-commerce business . Fortunately I found WA and am very pleased to have decided to join WA and became part of their community .
So now we know a bit more of each other .
I wish you a great success Maddy55 as well as to meet you in Vegas.
Cheers,

Hi Marcus, sounds like you have had an exciting life! You are blessed to have your grandchildren living so close to you! I too began an E commerce store but never published it as I kept running into problems with the spreadsheet being incompatible between the supplier of my products and Weebly.

I have no experience with spreadsheets, I got frustrated and ended it. That was before WA though, someday I might go back and create another store. Right now I have two websites here, a dog site that I have listed on my Profile.

It's a huge site (I am sorry I made it so big!), and a new one, much smaller that I began on Jan.2 on certain herb products. I have always had a strong interest in healing with plants so it was natural to build my second website here based on that niche. I won't be seeing you in Vegas though Marcus as I am not focused on a referral site. I hope you make it though. Cheers

This is a General statement for all those that check into my Profile and subsequently check out my website that is posted in the lower right side. You are welcome to leave a comment on my site but make sure it is a relevant and quality comment. If you are only commenting so you can attach your own URL to your comment..don't!. I trashed one today that was obviously doing just that. The comment was loosely pet related but had nothing whatsoever to do with the Post. That is the beauty of being able to moderate all comments first :)

HI. I didn't want you to think I just ask questions. I am on here many times a day. sometimes I progress, sometimes I learn.

I ask because I realize I just need to get to know my way around.

I do go back to the lessons. But, sitting through a 20 minute video when I need the info of 1 minute of it is quite time-consuming.

Sometimes, I sit and take notes of the instructional video, then I am not sure of how I'm getting in to my website I'm creating.

Site mgr. ; site editor; Sometimes, I don't get on the same page as in the video. There are more than one way to do things.

I realize it's my time to learn. At times, I ask for help then find my own way to do things. It's not a job; it's an adventure!

Thank you for your assistance. I will work on.

YOUrs,
Sue

LOL! Hey thanks, I actually would never consider myself pretty anyway ;D Yeah, the Pet Hotel business was exciting for many years, and then gradually it became a dreaded task with failing knees. I started my impending 'retirement' by closing for the winters, 3 in a row and finally I gave notice to all my clients early this last summer. I am looking forward to a summer that I can call my own for a change, I have not been able to do that for 23-24 years! We might actually be able to take a vacation for more than 3 days! Nice to meet you :) Cheers :)

Same here Maddy, My knees have given out too, I've just this month given all my cleaning work over to my daughter. I am still trailing her, checking that she is OK with the work. It sounds easy to just clean a house, but I have learned from my clients what THEY expect from me, so always learning.....
Our bums will get fat sitting here doing this internet stuff though....

You bet:) I have gained weight since I parked my butt into my chair working on my website projects full time. I need to use the dusty exercise bike in our basement and some of the weights there too. My doctor advised me to do this to strengthen my knees, to minimize the pain but I have not followed that advise faithfully. However, my scale is telling me that I need to start moving.....

Hi Maddy,
Get a Swing Glider it's a bit like cross country skiing no pain on the joints, a good work out, gets the heart rate up, if you bend your knees a bit, and continue to swing, you will build up the muscles that support the knee. I know how boring exercise is, but this one is the best I have come across.

Hi Jae, unfortunately, my knee has suffered a drastic set back in the last few days. I have to resort to cane and walker now, and am using a knee brace. I had surgery on it 4 years ago, and I fear I need another one. Waiting times are very long up to a year, so I have started the process with a Dr appt next week. In the meantime, I am mostly grounded to the house until I can bring the inflammation down completely. My poor husband finds himself with a lot of extra chores now. My two horses, my 8 chickens, and 5 cats are wondering where I am. My husband says one of my cats at the barn refuses to eat while he's there, only coming to eat when he leaves. I managed to visit my chickens last night but I was in too much pain to make it to the other barn to see the horses and cats. My chickens were thrilled to hear my voice and to see me :) My 2 large dogs, my husband brings to the house a couple of times per day, so I can see them. They are outdoor dogs with a heated building (formerly my Pet Hotel), but I always bring them in for a few hours twice a day. I am going to try using some weights today, doing leg exercises from a sitting position like my Dr (4 years ago), told me to do. I am determined to get to a point where I can take care of my chores again, even without the surgery.

Oh, dear Maddy,
So sorry to hear this set back. I'm with you with the chores, so hard. My husband has failing knees too so I don't get much help from him. What an incentive to get better heh?
So many pets.... How neat is that that they miss you.
I've always wanted a horse but didn't marry a farmer or a handy man.
I have a very old poodle & one ginger boy cat. I really didn't want him, but my daughter's cat had kittens and couldn't shift them all, so I took the one that didn't scratch too much. You know how wild they can be as kittens. He has worked out OK and is very friendly & keeps the mice/rat population down. We won't go into the bird population, that makes people really mad.
Keep that walkers wheels greased, you may have to go real quick sometimes. Tee hee!
Cheers Jae ☺

Thanks Jae. Pets are great company :) I married a city man, but he did not have much of a choice with this country girl. As soon as we were engaged, we bought my grandparents small farm, and proceeded to renovate the house and set up the place for the animals I had back then (2 goats and 2 horses). Over the years, our place has changed greatly, we've had many goats, different horses, many dogs, many cats, some ducks, a pig, a cow, a Pet Hotel.... yup my husband didn't know what hit him LOL! However, the country life agrees with him, he has often told me that he has no desire to live in town. His knees are not that great either. I am glad that I let go of the Pet Hotel in the Fall, with the set back that I've had with my knee, it would have been a disaster for having to take care of all the dogs there! My knee has definitely improved, no pain when relaxing, no pain while sleeping, the brace helps me to walk without a cane or walker in the house. On uneven surfaces, it is still a big issue though. One thing at a time. Cheers

HI Maddy, I thought I would just message you hear and ask some more questions if you don't mind. My website is for Holiday Pajamas for Mom, Dads, and the kids. I can't wrap my head around the writing content part. I've done research and have found loads of sites that sell holiday pajamas. There are different categories I could write about as far as types of Pj's (flannels, onsies etc) Should I be writing about each area? A story a blog about Mom's and holiday pjs? Personal stories?
I know I'm jumping ahead because I haven't finished my training but what is considered "affiliate worthy" content?
Is there an area on WA where we can see others websites to get a feel for the finished product?

I'm sorry I have so many questions, I just want to understand where I am going with this...I'm sure it will get easier eventually

Thank you

Maddy55 Premium
When I chose my two niches, I asked myself if I could write lots of content on the subjects and my answer was yes so I went with the two niches. Personal stories sound great if you have lots of them! Maybe you could develop seperate pages for each type of Pjs and divide them into genders too. For example, start a page titled Dads, then create subpages under 'Dads' for the different types of PJs. Do the same for Moms and Kids. Do a Review for each of your products on your pages under their Dad, Mom and Kids heading pages.
Then in your posts, you can be more free in expressing stories, subjects about various aspects of holiday time with family, putting links in there pointing to specific page reviews you have built for your products. Every few posts, you could put a review into your post, something new that is also holiday related, while the rest of your posts would have links to your review pages. That is probably how I would do it. Many members here have their website addresses (URLs) in the lower right hand corner of their profiles. Not all do, but many do. I have one of my websites listed on my Profile but my second one I have not. P.S. Putting pages under a 'placeholder' type of page is super easy. I have done this with both my websites. It will get easier for sure!

It's a new adventure for sure and going to your profile, you mentioned you have already found your niche! That's great, because for many people, it's a real road block. Don't quit your day job yet though, it takes about 6 months or more to start making money on a well developed website. Google has all these 'rules', and without WA's community to point the way, I would be lost.

You can call me Marissa. Hateful is a nickname I got when I was a kid and it kinda stuck. Lol! I have lots of ideas to choose from, but it was still pretty easy for me to pick just one to start with! I don't plan on quitting my day job anytime soon. I would like to, even though I like being around all the dogs, but I also know that making money through the training here ain't gonna happen over night. I'm looking forward to all the learning though! Every little thing helps to get me closer to my goals!

Hi there fellow Canadian. Do you mean that you want to send an email out to someone, from here in WA to someone else not in WA? That is not possible. The messaging in WA is a closed loop only to members. Here in WA, we can communicate with each other in private through the send a private message in our Profile. You want your email address to be private? I found something on line and posted it into a Blog for all to access. Let me know if this is what you wanted. If not, post the questions to the community under the Pen icon (Ask a question).

The best way is through your website, with your own WA referral link. I am afraid that sending someone your ad for WA in a disguised email address would be considered Spam. I doubt anyone would be convinced to join WA through an anonymous email. Are you in the Bootcamp course or the Certification course?
Reply
msjustina Premium
thank you for the advice, I am in Bootcamp.
Reply
Maddy55 Premium
Great! If what you really want is to make money through referrals, then Bootcamp is the way to go. No one will know your name unless you put it into your email address. Kyle teaches how to create an email address for your website and then forward it it to another one you may have. That is what I did. I already have a email address that I have been using for a previous business, so I created a seperate email address from my website here and forward it to that older email address. Kyle uses his own name but what I did was I called it 'iam@and then the name of my website. I forward that email to my older one that has a more generic name. Anyone on my website who wants to send me a personal message would go through my 'iam@name of my website', but I get the message in my regular generic email address. I wonder if this was what you were really asking?
Reply
Maddy55 Premium
I forgot to mention, if you want more privacy, then you might not want your real name and picture on your website either. I understand that completely. I have been subjected to ridicule from people I thought were friends, also ridicule from family members for my passion which is caring for and training animals. My newest website is not about animals, but involves a controversial subject so right now, I have not shown that website to any of my friends and family, except for my husband, who is my biggest support. I do not want my birth name and real face on either of my websites for that reason. I use an avatar and nick name. I know some don't agree with that, believing that it's better to be completely transparent but my experience has shown me the opposite. Strangely, I feel quite safe here, exposing my real face.... ;D Maybe because we are all in the same boat?

Thank you to all of you that have Followed me recently, i have not been able to keep up with saying hello to you all. At the beginning of January, I began the process for building my second website here. My first is very sluggish, only 2 conversions and it's become incredibly difficult to write fresh posts in my niche. My second one has my passion now, a subject I don't know that much about so I have to do a lot of research before writing. I have been living and breathing this website, at night my dreams involve my actually being inside Google or inside my website! Thankfully my husband is very patient and really wants me to succeed too. I can only imagine how hard it is for many of you that have full time jobs and still work on building an online business! I admire you! I retired from my physical business in September, so I have almost every day, to work on my online learning and building. I find my days are just too short! I got up at 5 am yesterday to work on my new site because I couldn't sleep, just thinking about it. Of course, life gets in the way, I can't spend all my time here. I still have to cook, tidy the house, take care of my animals, spend time with husband (he works in an office fulltime) and other family, go shopping once a week etc. The days are just too short for my liking :) Back to work, today I have to write a post for my first website.

Hi! Marilyn,

I appreciate your networking with me, and I will follow for a higher level of mutual support and learning.

To know each other, please look into my WA posts including bio profile as well as some posts on my site built over the past 80 days within WA's WP platform.

Known to us, the keys to success in WA and e-marketing are:
1. religiously implement what we learn from its training courses;
2. accept WA program is the best of the best of its kind in the world;
3. need a lot of hard work to plow along its tough road;
4. expect to see a positive result in 3-12 months if all the implemented is correct.
5. participate active WA community volunteer work if possible;
6. just ask if any question or need help arises.

Here comes my best wish for your success in e-marketing.

writing a review means you are writing about a product that might also be an affililate for you. That depends on what your website is about. Mine is about dogs so I have been writing reviews for products that are dog related and have an affiliate connection to. I just did a post yesterday on a dog product that I also advertise through affiliate links on certain pages. I happen to own the product so writing a review for it is a little easier. If you don't own the product, see what others are saying about it, for instance Amazon.

Well I really like shopping looking for those great sales I think my biggest thing in my whole career has always been customer service I have always seen it to be a very important factor in any job I've worked at I was in banking for about 17 years and I enjoyed it because having to deal with people on a daily basis was always interesting didn't matter if it involved in a bad customer experience it was just the fact of encountering some type of situation that was new to me it was just experiencing that new situation for me I work for a car rental company and I meet different people everyday and with some of the conversations I have with them gives me the chance to sometimes learn something from these people.

Sounds you are looking for your niche? How about a website where you regularily write about what you have learned through banking and working with the car rental company. I am sure you have many interesting stories. Writing is extremely important because that is how you will get traffic, readers to your site. While on your site, they will hopefully buy through some of your affiilate links. With your love of shopping, you could sign on with various affilate companies that have products that interest you. You could then write an indepth review on products, one at a time, putting them on a seperate page called Product Reviews or something similiar. As you write your stories every week, you could mention the product and link it to your Review page. That's just a general outline. You need to go through your lessons, watch the videos that are available here, get as educated as you can. That is what I am still doing after 8 months. Good Luck... hope this helps!

Going back to your niche, if you are not planning at this point to make a website devoted to WA only, which is what Bootcamp is about, then you need to go through ALL the Certification lessons. They are divided up into Courses 1-5 in the first set, each Course has 10 lessons. Sounds like you have only completed Course One. I have been here since January of 2017 and I have just begun Course 5... AT first I went at it top speed, because I was anxious to get my website working and making money... however I have since realized that it takes many months, even a year before you get enough traffic to make an income. Now I have slowed down considerably, writing posts as inspiration comes to me and every now and then, I go back to WA and learn some more. I hope this helps to make everything a little clearer? In addition to the courses, there are lots of videos from webinars by Jay, that are loaded with instruction. I have barely touched on those and then there are tutorials made by members here too.

I am sorry it took me so long to respond. I was out of town with very iffy internet connection! I was planning on having my niche be educational/developmental/unique toys for babies and toddlers (as they are what I am spending most of my time browsing the internet for at the moment). I figured if I can find some items, or discuss items I have and why they are beneficial, it would be a good niche. My issue is that I don't really have "inspiration" unless I have items to discuss... that was my whole goal. I thought half of the fun would be finding unique items, discussing them, etc. So I was attempting to at least link the one item that started me on this path, but I completely understand what you are saying, and it sounds like I may get booted from Amazon affiliates as I won't have the traffic in 90 days. I, like you, was very excited and started going 100 mph. Got through the first course and all lessons within a week (which was a little tough because I have a full time job, and 18 month old and a 4 month old!), dabbled in Bootcamp (before realizing that wasn't the way I wanted to go), purchased Premium, and am now having the rough realization that I may not want to go through with all of this because that is a long time to work (and pay $50 monthly) with no income from this project. I'm a little bummed at the moment.

That's okay, I too have not had much time to spend here lately, I recently retired from my dog career and husband has taken his first week off this year. Regarding the money, I panicked a bit too when I realized the money was not going to come in for awhile. My husband assured me that it was fine, that nowhere are you going to find secondary education like this for only 50 per month. I pay more than that with the exchange rate. I decided to go with the yearly plan, which is only about $1 per day US. It is easy to get distracted in about 100 different directions. Kyle recently went through a lesson, I am in Course 5, about being organized, setting a small amount each day for certain tasks. I need to do that most certainly. Imagine how organized Kyle has to be, with 800,000 members here, he has his own websites to maintain, he and Carson created and maintain Jaaxy, also Street Articles, which I recently discovered. Kyle is also married with two small children. Regarding Amazon, if that is source you want to focus on, you can have friend or relative buy something through your site link to keep it running. That is what I did :) Most people with a credit card, buy on Amazon at some point, so why not through your site? Just have them buy before the 90 days is up, Amazon sends a warning first. Hope this helps :)

thanks Robert, yes I have passed over that bridge called steep learning curve. It's sometimes exhilarating and sometimes frustrating and other times frightening. It's never dull. I will certainly follow your advice, thank you.

No probs Marilyn.
There are quite a few Canadians within WA so maybe worth your while to get in touch as you will be in the same Time Zone (I think).
Of course I'm in the UK so a wee bit ahead of you.
Onwards and Upwards.

tried to leave a comment on one of your posts - poop fairy - I could not see the comment - I tried to write comment but could not see the email address area or comment area - it appeared to take content but was just a red squiggly lines and can not be corrected or seen. Not sure why

Dave, there is no email area, just comment section. I don't know what is wrong, I tried to put in a comment from the website side and I had the same problem. That has never been a problem before. Any suggestions?

I have never seen that before - what does it look like in the replies showing in your website??? it is impossible to edit or even see what you are trying to write. - it above my pay-grade - post a question to WA and include the link to that post so they can see it also

I have been trying to figure this out ever since you noticed it. I have been looking through the Word Press support and lots of people there couldn't access their comments for different reasons. I am ready to pull out my hair. I have posed the question to marion black and I have sent it to Support.

Dave, WA support has fixed the problem, the comments are now working. However, while I was trying to get help, I was also looking at other Themes. I admit I was in a panic, thinking about all the customization that I had done on Weaver Xtreme and it was all going to go to waste. I have found another Theme that looks very interesting and looks easier. It's called Customizr, and it even has tutorials on Youtube, walking me through setting it up. I am very tempted now. I will watch the videos first a few times before I make up my mind.

Just be careful you don't loose your site by changing themes - I have done that when I installed Divi - which is a paid website builder but very user friendly.
We were working with elementor which is free but had been suing Divi on another site and switched everything to Divi.

Elementor has training on WA by a young man using it.

Hello Marilyn,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for adding me to your network.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I made an addition for After The Walkthrough. Also a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link right under “Follow me on” (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please reply to this message or leave a comment on my profile.

I have another website for my present physical type of business (a Dog boarding business) and I was thrilled recently to realize that my website is ranked on the first page of a Google search. I did not realize the significance of this until I went through some of the training here. It doesn't give me more business though as due to physical injuries to my knees, I am not open during the winter months... shucks!

Have you entertained the idea of offering advice, & tips via a blog when you are physically unable to perform for your business ?

Yup, that is exactly what I am focusing my new website on... all about dogs, my experience and research with dogs etc. I hope my new website will do as well as my other one for my Dog Boarding business.

Hi, Maddy
Nice to meet you and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks for following me.

Are you still having trouble getting to the next lessons? Make sure you check all the check boxes on the tasks at the end of the lessons? That might be your problem.

Have you seen this Live Video Class on finding a niche. It might give you some ideas. I wish you success,
Pat

Hi Pat, the Next Lesson buttons came back... thankfully but the course does not keep track for me. I have to memorize which lesson I was on or just leave it open. I am almost finished those lessons anyway and will move onto the Bootcamp lessons. My Google has been acting up today, couldn't even get on at all until I did an update and rebooted a few times. My Facebook is not loading today at all... strange. Oh well. Here I am again, ready to continue with the lessons. P.S. I didn't check all the boxes because I wasn't doing them all (starting the website etc.). I wanted to go through all the lessons first and then go back and do them again more thoroughly. I have finally picked my Niche, it was staring me in the face the entire time but I guess I was resisting. It will have to be along the lines of raising dogs. I have had a lifetime of experience there, with many many dogs over the years. I have also created and run a Pet Hotel for over 22 years, handling other people's dogs. I was hoping something more exotic was going to hit me in the face LOL! However, if I am going to write content, that is one area I excel.

Glad to hear you are still hanging in there. I know what you mean, I found myself doing the tasks because I didn't want to click the boxes, if I hadn't done the tasks.

I know you are in a hurry to get going and probably know a lot of the stuff already, but there is a method to their madness. and reasons for doing things in the order they do. Now that you have your niche you can really get going

PS My sister and I have Silken Windhounds and she has started a website. https://JoyRunSilkens.com, if you would like to see them.

Best Wishes,
Pat

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Thanks Mike, I am going through the course (not the Bootcamp one yet). It's a bit confusing with the lessons sometimes because after a lesson is over, there is no button (next lesson) to progress to the next lesson many times. I have to go back to the very beginning and try to find where I left off. My Progress on the green button shows that I am only on lesson 2 but that is not correct. I am much farther along than that. Is there a procedure that I am not doing after a lesson? Maybe its just a cookie or plug that is interfering at my end... sometimes I have to clear my cache when things act funny at my end. yeah, I haven't picked a Niche yet. I want it to be the right one for me. I have so many interests and smaller developed talents that it's really hard to pick one. I am planning on finishing the original course first, then reading through most of the Bootcamp lessons before working on the website. Of course having a Niche that I have decided on has to come first or setting up the Website Blog is kind of a moot point? I went through a course on Niches yesterday.

Hi Marilyn, yes that does seem odd that you are experiencing that issue with the training. Once we get you through the choosing a niche I think we should look at moving over to the bootcamp training they offer training that I feel offers instruction on setting up a very good website structure.
Let me know if you need my input on your niche at all, making sure there isn't too much competition and your niche isn't too broad is very important. Talk soon Mike.

Hi Marilyn, Mike here from http://avoidonlinemarketingscams.com,

I am so happy you made the decision to take advantage of this opportunity. If you are determined and can stick with your training here at WA it can open the door to an exciting and rewarding future as it has for me. This is where your online business is going to be realized. Here's the course that started me down the road to an unbelievable lifestyle and one that is now within your reach. From this point on you will have not only my support in person but the ability to ask any questions of the community here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Without wasting too much time you can now access the Online Entrepreneur level 1 online course found in the main menu by clicking the green "Get Started Here" button.

Here's the link to lesson 1: This is the course that I started with and lead me to my first sale online!

If you are willing to put in an honest effort and take the bull by the horns I will personally help you through the course or with any questions or concerns you may have in your quest to make your online business a reality.

I can be reached through my personal profile at any time when you have any questions...trust me, you will!

Oh! Lesson 3 "Finding A Niche" for many is the most challenging to get through without pulling out your hair and the occasional temper tantrum so I have created some extra material that I feel will be of huge benefit to you while working through this lesson, let me know when you are there and I will give you if you upon request.

Don't forget to create your personal profile by adding an image and a few words about yourself! You will find many WA members come offering their help and asking you to follow them which is a great resource for you to have access too, many members here have a wealth of knowledge that you can tap into.

Just a quick heads up! You can just do the course and that's it or you can take advantage of a discount on a premium membership here at WA. There is absolutely no pressure to change your status, but if you decide to become a Premium member and unlock absolutely everything Wealthy Affiliate has to offer and do so before your 7 day course is over you will qualify for a 50% discount on the first month of your membership.

I look forward to getting to know you and being able to help out when you have questions.

Cheers, Mike

thanks Mike. I found you online and therefore mywealthyaffiliate through you when I did some research to decide whether to go with Clickbank university. I got a subscription to clickbank last winter and signed on with Weebly too. I made a new website for my present business (pet hotel) and then went on to attempt to create a store as well. My store looked beautiful but I had to abandon it due to logistic problems between my carefully picked chinese suppliers and even more carefully picked out products and the way Weebly is set up to accept spreadsheet data. it became so frustrating that I took a break from last Spring until now. I canceled my domain subscription with them for the yet unfinished store today when it was due to auto renew. I feel relieved that I don't have to deal with those problems anymore. However my goal was and is to create another business that can allow me to retire from my Pet HOtel business. Right now I am feeling a bit adrift. Creating a website has been no problem, I loved the creation process and I have learned so very much about SEO, DNS, links, metatags, keywords during that process so it hasn't been a complete waste of time :) Many of your new members are so confused about these things, as I was, going into the online store process. I understand their frustration! I know I am going to have a roadblock about choosing a niche! I struggled with this in choosing what kind of a store I wanted too! I still wasn't totally sure about the niche I had chosen when I took a hiatus from the store project last Spring! It is enough to pull one's hair out for sure! After my experience, I don't want to sign on with any other company until I see some light at the end of the tunnel. I have read that WordPress is not a user friendly program to create a website which is another reason I went with Weebly. I started with Homestead (terrible) and moved to Weebly (lots of fun to work with and lots of chat support) so I am a little apprehensive about dipping my toes into WordPress. One quick question... it's a question I saw raised by another member but was not answered... the initial 'free' membership- it does allow the creation of a website yes?

Hi Marilyn, yes you actually get two free Wordpress websites. I see you have used weebly, the problem with weebly is you are very limited with the style of website you create, Wordpress on the other hand is the largest and most inovative website building platform on the market. The problem people have with website builders in general is they make it to complicated I always advise keeping things simple no more than 6 plugins tops.
Building a website is the easy part, getting the traffic to the site is the tricky part which you will learn here at WA.
The big problem with weebly and wix for example is they lack in the area of traffic generation, website builders are becoming a dime a dozen, that's their business, selling stuff from their sites when you don't know what a buying cycle is or how to build a sales funnel inside your website and many more critical marketing techniques are not promoted, like I said anyone can follow a few simple steps and create a website it' what you do with that site that lacks leading to frustrated members.
