Good question.
If the other site is in a different country you could use hreflang tags to tell Google the content is the same but avoid the dup penalty.
That may, or may not, be helpful.
Other than that, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else can be more help to you.

What is the best way to post collaborative content?

Hi - could you not guest post for each other instead? You write something original for them and vice versa?
Hi Diane,
Sure. Ive done that both ways with (2 different sites though). I emailed the requested article exclusive to their site and posted an article emailed to me from another site exclusive to my site.
Maybe writing a review on a link that they send me and vice versa or maybe as you suggested?
I should probably propose that to them and mention the content duplication concern.
I've seen other posts on multiple sites that seem to rank well. So I would like to know if there is way to crack the code(so to speak) on doing that in way that google's algorithm does not lead to penalizing the ranking. Otherwise I should probably only post the link within a post I write (like a review of the content with a "read more" external link).
Thanks for chiming in, Cheers..Brad

I requested a "whole website" check for broken links using dead link checker and I got 37 on the first one, 46 on the second try and 66 on the third try.

Thanks for your reply Trish,
Do you use "broken link checker tool" on "dead link checker"? Because that is the one that is displaying all the errors. 29 when I checked a few minutes ago.
Example: The first link shows "network error" in the "status" column, a url i'm unfamiliar with that leads to a 404 error page and in the "source link text" column it reads "link/href" and takes me to my homepage. The problem is there no anchor text on my homepage that reads "link/href" so i am unable to locate it to fix it.
Most of the others in the "status" column are a combination of "503 Service Unavailable" and "network error" some of those show to be dead links but most of them appear to be functioning links that I can click right through to. including a large number of my amazon associate links. That's why I wonder if I may be getting false positives.
I know others like to use "broken link checker". I've used it and have been able correct all my dead link issues. But is it picking up ALL of of the broken links?
Anyway thanks for the insight, any other input, would be appreciated. I may ask site support to try and sort this out.
Thanks again and blessings, Brad
Hey Brad,
Fix what the scripts show you before checking your site again. When there are sooooo many broken links to script may offer you different numbers due to a lot of different factors... example: how many users are using the same scripts.
It's a free broken link checker that I have found to be PRICELESS in fixing my sites, especially given that they literally pinpoint the issue for you.
Once you have fixed several broken links, check it again and continue fixing until you do a final check that proves you found them all.
You will be glad you did, and Google will love your site being cleaned up too!
I have run my site through a broken link checker and it's mostly people from WA, who leave comments and then abandoned their website.
That is all I know, which isn't much, but that has been my experience.
Following to see some answers. Thanks for asking, sorry about your problem. Kinda afraid to check mine now. Good luck.

Why is dead link checker finding so many broken links?

A fitness trainer and blogger asked me if she could write an article for my site. Is it ok to request comments in "site comments" for a post written by a guest contributor to m
Sure Brad. I have two regular contributors on my site and I often request for comments on their posts using the Site Comment platform.

Can I submit a post authored by a guest in site comments?

I got this email notification from Amazon Associates this morning:
"Hello,
We are writing to notify you that your Associates Program application has been rejected and
if you have made sales from people that you have in your address book or members of your family Amazon recognizes this and doesn't count them as leads. The fact that they haven't paid you out for sales will indicate they don't recognise Sales have taken place
If you had 9 sales in that time frame I'd be contacting them to discuss it. However, it may depend on what there term 'Qualified' means. I know that if you have family make any purchases they will reject them as being unqualified. Make sure any family members that purchase don't have the same surname or live at your address. Even friends purchasing from within your local area can be seen as unqualified purchases. Otherwise, if they were genuine sales I would be concerned as well. It takes a lot of hard work just to get to 3 sales. Jim
Yes. You have to make a certain amount of sales before Amazon will actually check out your site and approve it. If you don’t have enough sales it is automatically disapproved.
You just need to re-apply.
I had to do it when I started as well.
My amazon account rejected. why?
