About Tudogz
Joined October 2016
Hi all.

My name is Thomas, or Tudogz. (Why do you ask?)

At the time of joining, (Oct 2016) I'd just recently retired from what was my Day Job in the transport industry and moved from Perth, Western Australia to Ulverstone in Tasmania. I was a Pilot/Escort driver escorting heavy equipment to and from mining and building sites, Mostly in the west, but occasionally interstate. I've lived and/or worked in every state of Australia at one time or another.

I've had a variety of jobs over the years, including sales, factory work, a stint as a pro musician and even 25yrs as a full time carer. (My former wife was disabled. She passed in 2010) My big passion though, is writing.

I'm working on a novel (what writer isn't haha) and these days I divide my time between that and freelance copywriting. I've studied SEO copywriting and expect to be able to put those skills to work here. Meanwhile, along with my wife Linda, I'm just learning to adapt to our new home in Tassie.

UPDATE: August 2018.

Yes, I'm still here! When my first 12 months was up I still wasn't doing all that well, but decided to sign on for another year at Premium. The novel has been on hold since I joined WA.

I've had some health issues, and took a long break for a bit. I also re-evaluated my position and pinpointed a few areas where I was drifting off course.

I've decided to restart the whole process. I had too many websites and was spreading myself too thin. I'm concentrating on just two now. I also realized I wasn't following the training properly.

My latest site is dedicated to promoting CBD Hemp Oil. I think this is a niche with definite potential. I'll share my newest post here.

I'd appreciate any feedback or onsite comments if you feel inclined.

If you're thinking of giving CBD products a try, there's a WA post I wrote here.

Anyway, that's it for now.
Wishing you all Success and Happiness.
Thomas.

FURTHER UPDATE: (Oct 2019)
Linda and I have moved back to what was my old home state of South Australia. I have sons, grandsons, and now a great-grandson over here.

Hi there Thomas!

Well it all starts with a goal and now that you've got your goals outlined you can start working towards them. The more time you can spend working through the training here at Wealthy Affiliate, the sooner you will have the foundation that you can build upon. You have full control over your online business and we'll be here to help steer you in the right direction as you move forward.

Glad to see that you are taking action already by publishing your goals!

Great goals, Thomas! Ambitious but definitely achievable in time as you're ready to dedicate a lot of time to building your online business. Follow the training and take action on what you learn, work at it consistently and you'll see some results in the months ahead.

Thomas, hope the weather isn't disappointing you at the moment. As they say down here 'wait 5 minutes and it changes'!

Have you been along the water front road to Penguin. It used to have the best plants along the railway side of the road. I hope it still does.

And if you haven't visited it yet Pearn's Steam Museum is great.

Now I came here to follow you.

Thanks.
Yes, Penguin still looks like a florist's dream.
We are loving it here in Tas, away from the heat.
Thanks for following me.
(Tell me, do followers actually bring benefits aside from the obvious camaraderie aspect? Everyone seems to be intent on gaining as many as possible, but my feeling is a small network would be better.)

I am not really chasing them either. I just do a few lines of followers a day to try keep my notifications clear.

I can see a few benefits. Lots of them provide help and if you are following we all seem to have a more informal and friendly way of doing so.

Also you can invite them to view your site and comment. Lots of followers potentially lots of site visits.

I set up a small template. Then if their profile says a bit I do a bit of personal writing but not much. This speeds things up.

And don't forget those you follow will pass on sites to their friends and acquaintances, and they may then pass them on too. Lots more traffic.

And so on.

If you haven't got your emails under control try my tutorial.

Thomas, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Thomas.

Cheers Kyle. I couldn't make up my mind about my own niche, so thought I'd do the WA bootcamp while I think more on it. I'm doing two things at once, getting myself set up to promote WA and also setting up my own writer's website. If you have a moment, look at write-for-u.com. I'd really appreciate any comments you think may help. My affiliate site is my-buzz.com.
Thanks, Thomas.

Hi Kyle. I'm reaching out to you as no-one else seems able to help me. I'm writing my content pages and have three problems. 1. I have organised my pages within menu, but the changes are not there when I view the site. 2. I want to insert a bigger space between paragraphs but when I add a blank line by pressing enter one or two times, again, the changes disappear when I view the site. 3. I can't see how to add colour to the headline. I can colour the text. but not headline.

Hold down:

SHIFT + ENTER

And you will be able to add hard spacing as you are suggesting here. :)

Hi Thomas I noticed you set up your profile completely. That's really great you're definitely on the right track!

Taking action is very important even when it's something as simple as an account set up.

I also wanted to mention Premium membership.
If your enjoying WA so far and want to move up a level its definitely worth a try. I highly recommend it for everyone.

If you need help with anything. Let me know!

Looking forward to your progress Thomas

All the best
Peter

Just to clarify. If I sign up for premium, and want to host my own domains, there are no extra costs? (Other than buying the domain name of course)
Reply

Yes, that's right, Thomas, as a premium member you can host up to 25 of your own domains and 25 free siterubix domains. As you say you just need to buy your domain name(s).

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle. I'll try not to use up too much of your time with queries, but I do have an idea I'd like to run past you.
I've been thinking for a while of setting up a site where I can offer my services as a writer/poet to compose poems, etc as first anniversary gifts. (paper anniversary)
I presented my wife with a "Certificate of Love and Appreciation" as a first an gift and she loved it.
My thoughts are now to use Wedding Anniversaries as my first niche. That way I could promote my own product as well as other gift ideas pertaining to the specific anniversary.
Will wordpress allow me to have one welcome page, with links to pages dealing with each special anniversary?
Any help would again, be much appreciated.
Thanks, Thomas.

Trying to work my way through the training, but I'm stuck at editing my site.
Instructions say "shift+click to edit" but when I do, the text is highlighted but when I type nothing happens.
Cheers, Thomas.

What are you trying to edit here? You can simply go into your page/post editor for your given content and update it. You don't need to hold SHIFT+ anything.
