What Were You Looking For When You Found Wealthy Affiliate?

Everybody's story is different and I'd like to hear yours.

Here's My Story

I had a client that needed a website. He's kind of in the stone ages when it comes to technology. I knew I could easily design a website for him, but that's not the solution I wanted for him.

He had talked with another company that was going to lock him into a contract and have him paying a monthly fee for hosting and not much else. I wanted him to become the owner and caretaker of his website, but I didn't want to have to hold his hand the whole time and teach him everything he needed to know.

So I Started My Web Search

I was browsing around the net looking for a website like Wealth Affiliate, but I didn't know if it existed or not?

I first bumped into another website which felt kind of scammy to me so I started doing some research on that website and came across several review websites about that other scammy website and said how it was bad news. They suggested taking a look at Wealthy Affiliate. So I did just that.

My Experience At Wealthy Affiliate

What I found was exactly what I was looking for. A website that hosted wordpress websites, that allowed to me refer people and get an affiliate commision and that had a great support community with lots of educational material for the newbie.

It was a no brainer for me I signed up for the FREE account. After taking a good look around I took advantage of the 1st month Premium Membership Offer for $19 and then of course jumped in for the Annual Plan.

Now I'm All In As The Say In Vegas!

I would gladly refer Wealthy Affiliate to anyone that wants to build a website and learn about Internet Marketing! This is the best place on the Internet for learning this type of stuff especially if you're a newbie and just getting started and don't know anything.

The only thing I was worried about when I first joined was that I would be too advanced for Wealthy Affiliate and that I would not learn anything.

Becoming An Ambassador

Nothing could be farther from the truth. I learn something new every here at Wealthy Affiliate. Also, Having experience allows me to help others and create training materials that will in turn earn me money. Wealthy Affiliate also has a program called the Ambassador program which encourages members to help and train others and there's financial rewards for doing so. I'm just days away from becoming an Ambassador myself.

Thank you Kyle and Carson for creating exactly the website I wanted.

Warmest Regards,

Wayne Wallace

Hey Wayne,

Nice post :)

I wasn't looking for anything in particular. I had just become a member at Empower network and looking to make money quickly anyway I could. I didn't have much money to spend either.

I came across a Wealthy Affiliate members blog (Nathaniell Brenes) and the sentence that got me was 'most of the programs out there on the internet are out there to drain your wallet, not put money in it.'

I've been involved with other self-help programs that have cost me probably more than $25,000 all together. They were all beneficial-the only thing that wasn't working was me. It wasn't until I got here that I snapped out of the get rich quick scheme thinking and realised that if I want something, it's going to take time and effort.

I want to use the WA platform as a long term financial solution while I'm changing careers and transitioning in that sense.

I like how WA is structured especially the checklist after every lesson which keeps you organised and accountable.

Thanks for sharing! Great post!

I've been fishing in the murky waters of internet searching for good fish. I knew good fish was there, but couldn't quite find it. All I could find was piranhas. That's exactly how my search felt like to me.
I came across WA while checking review on another scam. I came here, thinking I be gone within a week. By then I almost had first level finished, and thought wow, what a program. I learned so much from not knowing a thing about building websites.I found that I could learn from someone that's legit. I love it here.

Thanks Gordi, we are glad to have you!

Hi, I've tried many things. Soon I'll check my PayPal account to see how much I've "invested" in programmes which did not work. Then again maybe not!! The shock might finish me off.
I was looking at yet another scheme when I ran a scam review and landed on Steve's " I've Tried That" site . There I found WA. I have a Master s Degree in entering "Name" ,"email address" and "password" So I gave it a whirl.
WA turned out to be something completely different. The One or Two gurus didn't say "download this" etc and leave one on ones own. WA has a structured system plus the members (present company included) were engaged and very willing to offer advice and information based on their own experiences/knowledge.
I'll keep battling on
Cheers,Mike

Thanks Mike, Yes I know what you mean about the shock. I've spent probably the same on camera gear as I've spent on "marketing help"

Really enjoyed your blog, I came across WA by reading something on twitter which took me to another site talking about scams and real opportunities I narrowed it down to two Chris Farrell and WA and as WA offered a chance to try it out and you could have 2 free sites once I started the training I saw I could follow it and it was something I understood to hence staying on here

Thanks for sharing and the kind words ;-)

I have been searching around online for the 4 years I've been widowed, to keep me busy & more importantly, keep my mind active...and I finally think I have found exactly what I've been looking for and it was by complete accident :) Best acccident I have ever had to cope with... Linda

Gotta love happy accidents as we call them in photography. Glad you're here Linda!

I had skills and experience however I lacked people to talk to and systems to keep me focused. I was fed up being the only person who did what I do in my social and extended circles- now I have a great new circle and I feel included, not isolated. I can turn to others for support and just by "being" on here I can contribute to others too.
In fact I have simply focused on interacting- I can develop the other stuff down the track.
I love it.
Andy

Thanks for sharing, yes having community is important.

I have been working dead end jobs for most of my life, having a family my wife encouraged me to find out more about working from home. I have always known that people have been doing it online but I have always found scams until now.

Thanks for sharing ;-)

I have always been a teacher, and love transmitting knowledge and writing. Lately I have bee working with graduate students who wanted to get TOEFL or IELTS certifications in order to find jobs abroad. It was a very rewarding, but exhausting job. Besides I wanted to be doing things in my own time.
I started researchin ways to work through internet, by following a link that advertised "work a couple of hours a day and make 1000£ from the first month" . I smelled the scam, but I started researching and ..... Here I am.

Great, thanks for sharing!

Hello Wayne.
I found WA after becoming the victim of too many scams. I was completely ignorant of the way internet marketing works so I got pulled in by all the hype.
I was in a 'sad' stage of my life and needed to earn an income from home but only lost a large amount of money. I'm embarrassed about this part.
This sounds like a moan and a gripe but, as with most things, learning from mistakes is probably the best kind of learning.
I came across WA without even looking for it.
It wasn't 'salesy'.
It didn't offer me the chance to earn millions by next Thursday
(The guy was cute but don't tell Kyle sshhhh)
There was something about the whole thing that rang true with me.
Not having to give over my bank details was something I hadn't come across before and the rest, so they say, is history.
