Is there any possibility to rise the limit when importing pics or backup files?

Thanx,

Victor

You must be using too many plugins try these to get started with the ones I have here and limit your plugins cause they will slow your site down https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/my-preferred-wp-plugins/a_aid/4d126388\

very good question

OMG OK again, I messed up my website. Now I want to import my update. The problem: it is over 17 mb with all plugins and themes and pics. How to do it right?

vitto0, you can try using a regular ftp program and add them in one file at a time. The information to get ftp in is in the details of your site. Hope that helps.

Hey guys so the limit is for uploading any file such as a pic or backup file through WP. I was told that if the file is bigger than 8mb then it is better upload it by FTP but how do you do that?

Do a Google search for FileZilla. It's a free FTP client that you download to your own computer. Once there, install it (dbl-click the .exe file). Now you can add each of your sites login info, so that you may access the sites files on the hosts server. Your sites files will reside within the httpdocs file folder.

Does anybody know why there is an 8mb WP upload limit?

No, doesn't make sense to me.... Maybe it is just outdated (?).....

8Mb is HUGE! There really isn't any reason for transferring anything that large. You want the pages of your site to be as small as possible because the larger the file size of your images, the larger your overall page will be, and the slower your page(s) will load up in browsers when people land on your pages. Fast page-load times are actually a search-ranking metric. If your site is slow to load, Google takes this into account and will rank your pages lower in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERP's). The faster your pages load into a browser, the better.

Many file sizes of my sites vary, but an average file size of the code is around 20kb. Then you also add in the file sizes of all the images on the page, and it can add up quick. On one site, I was able to get my banner image size down to 36kb, while still maintaining a physical size of 920 x 127px, which is not bad for a .jpg file. Say you have two or three images on your page at 40 or 50 kilobytes each, it adds up very quickly, and will slow the loading of your entire page.

I agree with you, just wondering if the size was for a purpose or just a reasonable number chosen by the programmer..

What's the limit for?

Most times limits on file sizes are to prevent the servers being bogged down by bottlenecking the bandwidth to the servers. There is only so much bandwidth available for use, so if there are too many large files being streamed, downloaded, or uploaded it can affect the user experience for all.

Yes good points

sorry I cannot help you with this one, hopefully someone with have the answer if not you can msg Kyle

Hi everyone,

those of ya who r following me probably know that I had a huge problem with my DNS and my site was down. Well it started working and thank you for your help.<

Great start Victor!

Hi Victor think I looked at your site before and it was looking good tried to get on but also getting a redirect loop

It looks great to me!!

Victor, I am getting a redirect loop, and can't access the site, sorry to say...otherwise I would have taken a look. Best wishes, Andy

Well Kyle told me that it might take even 48h before the DNS starts working. On my end and Fred's end it is OK. I hope it will be OK on yours to. But thanx anyway.

Hi Victor, A good looking site to start with more pages to finish. I can't comment about the subject matter as I'm not a precious metal collector. Spotted a typo error: get "bored"of it. Please counter check your Privacy Policy as i found a few third party URLs. Good job!

Thanx Fred.

Oh the most important! My web: http://thecoincollector.org

Thanx again.

Hey guys,

I am looking for help.

I connected my DNS and moved my siterubix domain to the one I purchased. Everything went well.

Then I wanted to change somethi

I got my Domaine from WA I think. I thought it was free but I cannot get it to set up do I have to buy it?

HI, if you have a free domain from WA it would end in .sitetubix.com Those domains are free and you will not need to buy it. If you are looking for a .com domain - then you would need to buy this and they usually come at around $9.99 per annum or less.

Yes I bought my domain from nazwa.pl

moving the DNS is not an instant, it takes time to "bite" so changing it, getting it incorrect and reversing it can take up to 48 hours or more...glad to see that it is likely to resolve itself. Give it a while and continue to draft content off site, then you will be good to go when it settles down.

perhaps it is to do with your browser

I am still unable to get to my site...3 different computers with 3 different browsers!!!

You know, earlier I was rearranging my menus and even though one article was clearly on scams, it kept showing up as the affiliate reviews (???). So, I left it alone (for longer than 10 seconds) and it resolved itself after an hour or two. Patience..... but I know it's frustrating too. I think sometimes the server has major issues with WP.

bit confused tried your site and found it looks good hope you get it resolved

Well I tried entering my webpage on my tablet and everything is OK. What the heck is going on?!

You may want to submit a "Support Ticket" to inform Kyle / Carson about your experience.

Your site came right up for me. Looks good too, nice job.

Hi Mike, it seems that it is down again. Any clue what is going on?

I just checked it again and it is down. The page is naswa.pl? is that where you bought your domain?

I just noticed I can't log in either. Must be a server maintenance issue
John

Hey ppl. I seem to have a problem authorising API keys or connecting things to Wordpress. For e.g. now I want to connect the JetPack to my Wordpress. I have installed the plugin

It is my understanding that if you are using a site rubix, jetpack is not allowed. If you are hosting somewhere else, then you have a choice. I know that did not answer your question, but thought you would want to know.

You must have an account at wordpress.com. On the other hand Jetpack is a NO at WA. So you better forget it.

This discussion thread may help you:
http://getpaidonlinefree.com/jetpackissues

Hi Victor, Sorry i'd suggest you to raise a support ticket, they most certainly will be able to assist you.

OK thanks I guess I have 2 do that.

Look I just want those plugin to work to test it. Is there anything wrong with my WP or am I doing something wrong?

Hi vitto all the reviews readed for that plugin said it's not worth for the user

Let me understand why would Jetpack ask for your Wordpress credentials, namely your ID & PW? That does not sound right from security stand point. Just my thoughts.

Jetpack does website statistics for you and therefore needs access to your account.

Jet Pack is a problematic plug in i have been told.

Ok I see. Thank you for your opinion.

Hey ppl! This is Victor, I am quite new here and I was wonderin if someone could help me out. I am lookin 4 a auto subscribe plugin one which gives possibility to get $$ from su

don't know of anything like this, do you want to sell access to a page individually or the whole site or something like a pdf ebook?

Well I found a fantastic app that is called mailchimp but it does only email campaigns and that is not what I really want. What I want is a possibility for ppl to subscribe automatically and I will simply approve them or disapprove like you subscribe to forums where you fill in your data and then you have access to some texts. Those that would not subscribe would have for e.g. 40% access to texts like you have with newspapers online. The app should give possibility for this service to be paid.

Otherwise I will have to make all accounts manually for my viewers and send them passwords to blocked content and this is going to be a hassle.

Sounds like you want a subscription based website, you could just charge for entry and only put a few teaser articles on the outside and the rest on the inside. The newspapers like the times have a very sophisticated system which has been special coded which allows them to let you read say 5 articles a week then nothing. The do it all with cookies and tracking.

yes pdf ebooks and sell access individually to my page like the economist does. Now I want to give access for free but I also want something that I can use in the future too.

Jenn brings up a great point. You need to have content that will be indexed by search engines and you need to give enough value to get subscribers. I'm doing a similar thing right now with http://mymarketinghotline.com You can sign up for a webinar for free and then get access to the inside where theres more great info. So far I've been promoting it directly as I don't have any content other than youtube videos promoting it. I will start creating a series of articles and blog posts that will be indexed by google to bring traffic in that way as well. Some day down the road I will create a paid part.

Hey Victor.

I'm not sure that that's encouraged here at WA. The training stresses that you should give value in your posts firsts, then people will trust your site and then you use affiliate links to sell products that are relevant to your niche and earn commission on them. Or you can earn money by promoting WA through their affiliate program.

It will take you a little time to have everything set up, I joined a week ago today and I'm already poised to put ads on my site but it's still a bit early for me to see my site ranked in Google. The training here is excellent. Give it a chance.

I'm sure there's some way that you could set up a paid email subscription but I expect you would have to provide a certain amount of valuable content for free to entice people to sign up to pay for more.

Hope that helps.

Hi Jenni, I understand your point. I do not want to be paid now but I am looking for a fantastic app that will help me now and I explained what I need it for now and also give the possibility to get paid for content in the near future. I also have to work on the SEO. But thank you for your oppinion. If there is anything I can do for you pls let me know. Regards, Victor
