What A Win!!
On the 14th of November I entered into a competition held by Roger Hamilton for an incredible 30 day experience in Bali for some life/business balance and growth training and mentorship. Here is a the website with the details http://ilabforentrepreneurs.com/ I had the website open in a tab on the application form for a couple of days before filling it in and submitting it, which happened to be on the last day to enter as well.
Yesterday I received an email with the follow message... In fact, here is my email screen grab...
I have not yet fully recovered... and this news stirs some amazing emotions.
The is an amazing win for me and evidence the work I've been putting into myself and aligning myself with my purpose is manifesting some extraordinary results and that is AWESOME! My vision and my mission has impact value!
I am so grateful for this opportunity, for what I have learned, for the chances I have taken, for the support I have had, and for the friends I have made! This is a collective effort of many peoples hands and I am extremely thankful for everyone.
Enter the challenge... Of course... Did you think it was going to be smooth sailing all the way? Delusions... :P
That $4500 voucher off is a voucher off the full price of $13700... I bet you starting to see where the challenge is coming in right ;) I'll give you a clue if you really stuck... $9200.
It is not the only challenge though because I am not that great of a swimmer to be able to swim to Bali from South Africa... Enter the cost of flights... Let me quickly go see how much they are... Hand tight I'll be right back... Another let's say $1500 on top of that. Plus I am sure I will need some back up just in case money available, add another $1500 to be safe. I can learn to fish and I am happy to eat berries and bugs for this opportunity if I have to ;)
All in all that gives me a guestimate of the cost of the course give or take a $1000's or so. Let's say $13700 to give us a target.
How?
Is my very next question because I don't quite have that kind of money laying around under my bed or in a bank account. The money coming from my ex job is not enough to cover this yet, nor is my online income... Asking the parents is out of the question and I doubt the banks will give me a loan... Plus I don't really want to go more into that kind of debt right now either.
Crowdfunding is an option and one I am seriously considering... I get butterflies and my stomach with a collection of knots when I think about it because it's such a big ask. I am not used to asking and have lived most of my life... Just doing it myself, not because I think I can do it better... Only because I always thought people had something better to do... Who actually knew that it was sometimes peoples better thing to do ??
This part of the journey is all so new for me and so big... If I thought I was stepping up before things just went to a whole new level right now. I decided to take a leap of faith and accepted the second place $4500 voucher off prize and set my course date for 26th Mar – 24th April 2015 in spite of myself and my fear and the unknown of how it is going to materialise.
Tomorrow I get a phone call and we discuss the details further... I am super excited for this!
If anyone has any how to raise funds advice or crowd sourcing hints and tips I will be extremely appreciate and forever grateful should you wish to share them with me ;)
I know people will not invest in this dream if there is nothing in it for them and it is not attached to their dream... Another question is... Where can I help them to help me?
So far I am thinking advertising space on my website, mentions in videos, banners, video logos, business partnerships or collaborations, etc. Any ideas there would be highly appreciated as well!
I am so excited about this I can't stop talking... First I was speechless and now I can't stop! Hahaha... I am going to have force myself here now and get working on setting things in motion... Begin operation... "crowd funding how to"

WOOT! CONGRATZ, my friend! That's awesome!!! As to the rest of the money, the only site I know is Go Fund Me, but I'm sure there are others. What you said is true, though. . . . that people will give if they see something in it for them. Not sure about that part yet, but if there's anybody who can come up with it, it's you!!!

I got a few months to come up with the money and who knows, by that time I could be making enough sales online to fund it myself if needed.

WELL DONE ROHAN!!! SO pleased for you! But you know how the Universe works - set your intention, visualize, etc,etc, and most important - let go of attachment to the outcome (the hardest part of all, IMO). You can do it - I KNOW you can - you manifested the prize, didn't you?
With regard to crowd funding, see if you can get hold of Michael Tellinger of Ubuntu Party. He used crowd funding to contest the last general election. You could try Scott Cundill (Scott (Five Streams) info@news.fivestreams.co.za) of New Era - or try this address for NE (The NewERA admin@newera.neweracomms.co.za) too - he may have better contact details for Michael. I watched a video yesterday regarding having a quantum leap and the main message behind it was... Get out of the way... Stop stressing, stay calm and just let things be the way they are to be... It is usually US that get in the way of our own success, especially when we want to TRY and control it all. Just let it be and have faith... So I am busy practicing this... And breath in and out... haha

A quote from the book by DC I mentioned which I copied out verbatim because, for me, it was very profound:-

The background to this quote is that he says that you cannot create from the local or ego mind. You have to access your higher self or non-local mind in order to achieve your dreams, which is, I think, another way of saying, get out of your way :)

The voice is easy... because you are NOT the voice you hear, but the one who is aware of it. You ARE the observer. Thus, to "get out of the way", learn to say thank you, and remind your incessant roommate that you are now in control. You already know you can do it, because you had the application open in your computer and just let it go... you knew what you wanted and you knew something would come from it. I venture to say you didn't totally and completely ask but you did, and you received it because you didn't obsess over it. It would be redundant or contradictory to wish you luck... don't ask for money, as for what you need to be there. The Universe delivers in however form it thinks will be to your best interest, not in the one you think you need. So be it!

Great price Rohan, enjoy it! But do you realize everything they offer, you have already in you, but you just do not recognize it yet? Hope you will find the answers you need to know:)
Thanks Loes and yes. I am very aware of that and I have no doubts I could do this on my own... I don't want to though and would like the help of the professionals to help me know the things I don't know that I don't know and then how to apply what I learn effectively.
It is about compressing time and leveraging the knowledge of those before so that I may enjoy greater results faster. I don't know about you, I'm however tired of surviving... I want to thrive and if someone can show me the way... I'd like to listen, learn and implement :) It is not about me paying them money, it is about me investing in myself, and my children, and their children and their children etc. I want to play on a higher playing field and I want to do it fast because if there is a 7 billion global population and only 1% of them live a financially free retirement then there is still lots of work to be done.
I love your answer! If we want to we can have a whole interesting discussion:) Only joining this 1% isn't the answer. Merely a solution for you. Trying to change the attitude and visions of these 1% population about the human race towards the world, isn't gone give you personal riches but will bring a worldwide uplifting result. I'm not worried about the 1%... In fact. I admire and model them... It's the other 99% that really have my attention because if I can help influence their mindsets and attitudes and inspire them to live an empowered life of their own will... Then I have my wealth and fulfilment :)

Good luck on the fundraising... Re: crowd funding - perhaps you can make an eBook or hold a live webinar after the fact and share with us your experiences ... Not sure what this is all about, but maybe you can even go a daily reviews and tips for us that we will get if we sponsor you . while you're still there! Just some ideas...
I know you didn't want to add more competition ;) but I'd love it off your tell us about these things too so that we can also have a chance to give out a shot ;) !!

Those are some great ideas for incentives, potential investors could benefit from! There is totally opportunity to give daily reviews etc during the experience. Love the ideas... Give live daily nuggets :)
Please do not think my lack of sharing was because I am trying to avoid competition :) I promise that is not the case. We live in an abundant universe and there is more than enough for everyone the same... It was my own avoidance and distractions that I forgot and only got back to just before it was too late. I am sure you must be aware I share a lot here at WA and I'm always sending invites for people to join me in my adventures... In fact, Roger Hamilton has been mentioned before and no doubts wont be last.
A lesson I suppose from this is that not all trains stop at the station and when one does stop... Get on it immediately because who knows when it might stop again. :)
