About EuniceH
Joined October 2014
I was born in Cape Town but moved to Johannesburg when I was 9. Lived there for all my adult life and only moved back to stunning Cape Town two years ago. I just LOVE living here (but making friends here is not easy, though I have lots of aquaintances) and am so glad I made the move! Any fellow Capetonians out there who would like to get together - I would love to meet you!

I am a widow (the first photo is of me and my husband 15 months before he died) with one child, a son (2nd photo, taken about a year after my husband died), who is a chef and living in London - a very long way away. One of my goals is to have enough money to invest in Malta (one million Euros!) so that I can get an EU passport which would enable me to travel freely (we in South Africa require a visa now to travel to the UK) so that I could visit him at any time I wish to.

I love furnishings and decorating and my intention is to set up my own interior design business (if you have the time, please have a look at my website www.leshabbychicinteriors.com - created by my son who does web design in his spare time) I am passionate about animals and their welfare - mankind has been responsible for so much harm to the environment. I am also very much into the spiritual side of life and am particularly inspired by Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer.

Oh, and I am also a HUGE fan of the Proteas cricket team!

I haven't got very far, as I have quite a lot going on at the moment, which is taking me attention. Just need to get over this hump, then I will get back to my site and give it 100% attention. Thanks for asking!

Well, the Aussies did it, but if SA could catch, they would have won the match! Looks like being a pretty tight series. AB is in great from again, and David Warner loos dangerous. Should be a cracker or a series. Only the 2nd time SA have lost the the WACA, so good result for the Aussie boys. See you Sunday!

Hi Darren.

Sorry to take so long in replying - I didn't have the computer on this weekend.

Yes, Friday was APPALLING for us - DREADFUL fielding and the bowling and batting wasn't much better either - left if up to no 10 and 11 to take us close to the target!!! But what a turnaround yesterday, though still some issues with the batting, but much better fielding and bowling.

Looks like poor Michael Clarke will have to hang up his pads pretty soon. What a pity - not a great way to have to leave the game.

Things all square again and everything for both sides to play for - as you say, a cracker of a series! See you Wednesday!
Reply
Darren62 Premium
G'day Eunice, yes the wheels fell off our boys pretty badly in the batting department yesterday. I was working on my plane in the garage and was listening to it on the radio. It was pretty depressing! Big Morne Morkel just bullied our blokes with bounce and pace, and we looked all at sea against it.

Josh Hazelwood tried to keep us in the match, but at the end of the day we just didn't get enough runs on the board to make it hard for you guys. Anyway, onto Wednesday. Interesting that they are playing in Canberra, so it will be a new venue for both sides. Hopefully we can bounce back there!

Lol re The Giraffe, aka MM! He is my favourite bowler because he reminds me of my son, so I am always happy when he does well. I have added a photo of me with my son, taken about a year after my husband died, so you can see what I mean about the resemblance to MM, though my son is about 3 inches shorter than MM.
Reply
EuniceH Premium
So Canberra is a new venue? Didn't know that. That will make things interesting....
Reply
Darren62 Premium
Yes I can see the similarity. Not many guys are as tall as Morne though! Apparently he's engaged to an Aussie. Don't know how that happened!

Yes I think it's the first time Canberra will host an international match. I believe it's at Manaka oval, which they've been developing over a number of years. I think they are looking at playing some world cup games there as well.
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Ha ha, yes, he's a bit of a turncoat - have his ancestors turning in their graves, lol!

Talking about tall - have you seen the Pakistan player - Mohammad Irfan? He's unbelievable - 7'1.5"! I saw him at Newlands when Pakistan were here and he's HUGE. He makes even MM look short! He's quick as well - imagine facing that barreling towards you at that height!

It makes sense that they would be trying out new tracks for the WC - didn't occur to me
Reply
Darren62 Premium
Yes, I've seen that guy, he's a monster! He didn't play against us during the debacle in UAE a few weeks ago, and I think he mainly plays one dayers. Wouldn't surprise me if they pick him on the bouncier wickets of Australia and SA just for the height and bounce factor.

Anyway, you guys can breath a sigh of relief for tomorrow, as Mitch Johnson has been rested for the remainder of the one day series. We've bough in Pat Cummins to replace him, and you guys will have nightmares about this kid from his debut test match a few years ago. He's been battling back injuries, and has only just started to get back into it it, so hopefully he'll do OK. All we need to do is get that dratted AB Devilliers out cheaply!
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Lol, well maybe he will oblige tomorrow, but you'll forgive me if I sincerely hope not!

Yes, they have been mentioning that MJ was being rested for the rest of the series, obviously keeping him back for the WC. From our point of view, we want / need the strongest opposition possible, in order to grow stronger ourselves, so - bring on your toughest please!.
Reply
Darren62 Premium
Don't worry, I think Pat Cummins will give your lot a run for their money, if he stays fit! There are plenty of quality fast bowlers in this country at the moment that could easily be selected for tests so I'm sure who ever gets a run will be competitive. What we need desperately is a few guys who can bat! Ah, if only I were a few years younger!

Yep, much improved on the first game! Sydney will be closer I think, as the wicket won't suit our quicks as much! I like Quentin De Kock, he has that little boy innocence about him, and he can bat! Maybe our boys are starting to hit their straps though, so we'll see! Should be a ripper!
Reply
EuniceH Premium
I am a big fan of QdK as well - think he has a great future before him, right from when I first saw him play.
Not very happy about how we finished our innings. Currently biting my nails to the quick, figuritively speaking. So far, things looking good for you, worse luck :(, lol
Reply
Darren62 Premium
Yes, a very tight game! Good old Cameron white got us over the line, thankfully, but I think it was the death bowling of Pat Cummins and James Faulkner that won the match! Bring on the one dayers now!
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Agreed - I think we panicked at the end of our innings - 10 more runs would probably have seen a different outcome! But a very tight game, which is not good for my nerves!
For me though, real cricket is test cricket. Not nearly enough of it in my opinion...
Reply
Darren62 Premium
I'm with you there! The hit and giggle is good to watch with a few mates and a couple of beers, but test cricket is the real ..... well test, of cricketing skill. Except if it's played in UAE where the wickets are dust bowl feather beds and it is as boring as watching grass grow!

Anyway, the one dayers start in Perth this weekend and your mob will be at full strength except for JPD who's gone home with a knee complaint I think. Should be a ripper series, so bring it on, and go the Aussies!!!
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Even when it's boring watching, I do something else while listening to the commentary, as there is a lot of skill in NOT playing your usual game in adverse conditions, which sorts the men from the boys!

Yes, I heard about JPD - a pity, I think he is a quality player as well.. 'Fraid I can't agree with your last sentiment though - hope you understand, lol - so go Saffers! :))
Reply
Darren62 Premium
Ahh, so it begins! Not to worry, we'll see who has bragging rites after this weekend. I'd love to say good luck you your mob, but I'd be lying!

Loved your website! So beautiful!
May I ask how it is working out for you? Have you had anyone contacting you and paying you to help them do interior decorating?
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Thanks Tabitha - as soon as I read your blog about you and your husband, I realized that we probably have similar styles. You would fit in very well here in Cape Town, which is VERY bohemian!

The site was set up more as a portfolio so that locals could get an idea of my style, but now my son (who built it) says I need to add more content so as to attract more visitors. I haven't been actively marketing it locally though, so no, I have not had any business from it yet. But Cape Town is notoriously difficult to break into business wise, which is why I needed to find another way to generate income - hence WA!
Reply
GypsyEyes Premium
Ahhh! I see.
I wondered the same thing, about the content I mean. I honestly couldn't figure out what it was you were offering for a little while. I was like, "Is she selling home decor? No.. there are only pictures, no links. hmmm" lol
Then I realized you were selling your knowledge on styling and decorating. (On of my talents as well! I LOVE to decorate, and even considered going into school for interior decorating at one point...)
But I agree... having some content up would help a lot in understanding what you're offering, and warm people up to you.
I've been struggling with quality content myself!!
I've just been putting up products and discussing them in a fun and friendly manner, but then I read Kyle saying that one of the biggest things he would warn against is trying to "sell yourself" in that way, before getting stuff out there that lets people get to know you and feel comfortable buying from you.
That I've struggled with because I see places like... well... any online department store you can think of, really. None of their websites have lengthy blogs about whatever-and-whatnot. They just sell what you're looking for!!! lol!!! You go there, click on something, buy it or not.
So now I'm really trying to find ways to get more interesting and wordy stuff up that will draw in readers... hopefully turning them into buyers.
Reply
EuniceH Premium
Yes, I have been struggling with the same thing and understanding the difference between the two, but I think (if I understand correctly) your aim is to get ranking by writing about one or two very specific products / ideas and draw them in that way. Am I correct?
Reply
GypsyEyes Premium
Well, after watching the Affiliate Marketing video in Lesson 3 of Course 3, I just realized its more like blogging about a specific topic, and then promoting a product here and there.... So I've been going about it completely backwards. *sigh*
It says if you throw too many affiliate links into your website, you'll get blacklisted on Google and won't make any money at all.
My entire SITE is affiliate links. Grrrr!!!
Reply
EuniceH Premium
I haven't got that far yet - still struggling to come up with a few themes for my site to focus on (I am doing the bootcamp, so presume he covers the topic, or something similar at about the same stage). But glad you mentioned it - it will save me some time and lots of editing!

Hi Kyle, thanks for the interest. I want to ask you the same question I asked Carson (I have not had a reply yet). I have created a site called Crazy 4 Cats (is that name ok?), but I have come unstuck a little in that I don't know if my chosen products are too broad? I was thinking of cats toys, scratching posts and accessories (beds, carriers. litter boxes etc). I joined Jaaxy and have done some searches and think I could maybe target accessories only, especially litter boxes, carriers and furniture, but is that still too broad?

Also, I have got to the end of lesson 10 of course 1. Am I not able to go any further without signing up for the premium package? As I mentioned before, my income currently is ridiculous and I just cannot upgrade yet, though I would love to. The idea was that I start generating income from the site, so that I would then be able to upgrade.

However, if I am not able to access the rest of the lessons (which I wasn't able to do), that will rather defeat the purpose as I will be damned if I do and damned if I don't!

Thanks for all the info so far...

Since I am responding here, I deleted your other comment below (just so there is no confusion Eunice). ;)

I do like your domain name, I typically don't suggestion replacing words with numbers, but in this case I think your domain is catchy...but one thing that you will need to define is "what" aspect of the niche you are going to target.

Cats is big and I would zero down on one of the more specific niches within this larger category (all of your suggestions are in essence niches).

Ex. Cat Furniture

Could be a niche.

And if you are not quite ready to upgrade to Premium yet, no problem. Here is some training that will be suited well for you:
