I would love someone to please clarify if this is true or not and why it would hurt my google rankings.?

Hey Sarah. It won't "hurt" your rankings it just doesn't provide any benefits these days. It's an "old school" technique where backlinking from an "authority" site such as Street Articles helped you rank better. Here's Carson's definitive answer: "Once you have one or two articles on Street Articles (or another directory), focus 100% on your website. You do not need to have a ton of articles these days as your website will rank very well as you begin to publish content on it regularly." :) Rich.
If you are following the training, then write wherever Kyle advices. After that, it is not worthwhile writing continually. You cannot post the same article at SA as on your website,and you will wear/burn yourself out. As the other members have mentioned, those backlinks don't work so good anymore. If you are a prolific writer and enjoy and have the time for it, then post to SA if you wish, otherwise website, website, website.
As Rick says - the focus of your attention needs to be on your site. There used to be an advantage of writing articles and then linking them to your site. That advantage has disappeared - so although it makes sense when you're setting up a new site to write one or two - after that it's not really worth it.
However some people just enjoy writing for street articles for fun and not necessarily linking it to their site.

yep that is right Rick and it is good when we first get started ---we need content at our sites ---maybe down the road we can go back and do some for SA ---take care of the home site ---that is why like the lessons so much they tell people when and how many --when we finish the lessons we have a WA balance --then it is start over ---

Google knows what that site is and if and update come out that targets sites that allow people to post their blog, it could hurt your Page Authority when it come to searches.

No one told me, I read someone else talking about it here at WA. It sounds like on here that there is a misunderstanding of how many to post to SA. I definately would go with following just what the certification courses tell you/me!

Jaaxy.com has a Site Rank tool where it will do the checking for you. To manually do it through Google is a very laborious process. You can sign up free (no affiliation).

Hi Sarah, I'm assuming this is your first website, you might want to do some tweaks to your WordPress security before you get to much traffic, and get hacked into.

Your site looks good, couple of things, Yes you should set up a google account as one of the first steps, the biggest reason i say this is, to take advantage of google webmasters (you then link this to google analytics, places etc), to get your site indexed as fast as possible, and also to de-index pages that are wrong, or part of demo content from one of the many themes you installed. You also can set up a Google plus account and watch kyles video on google authority, so that your face pops up alongside your content. Secondly I would say you should rename your username from admin, This is a big security flaw in WordPress, my sites get hit up about 60 times a day by bots and hackers trying the default username "admin" and bruteforce the password.
How can you change your user name? Simple create a new user with administrator access, with a different username (nothing about admin), then log out, log in with new user, and delete old user, but make sure you say, transfer old posts and pages to the new user, or you'll delete everything that was created by that user (your whole site).
Second thing was that you should go to your posts page, go to categories, and edit the word uncategorized change it to your default category ie in your case fuelabody or supplements, etc. This way when you forget to create a category for your blog post it will be in this category as a default. For instance on my blog i rename the uncategorized word to blog, so no matter what i post, the default category would be blog. This is helpfull if you are posting to your blog via an email address or a wordpress app from your phone. Also if you get into a habbit of posting to categories, then users can search your content based on category. Ie if you write about healthy foods, and then write about supplements, and then about excersises, sure they all could be under one, but they would be better under categories.
Your site currently has only 8 links indexed and some of the pages need some better descriptions, for instance type this in to google and you'll see what i mean,

If you've watched the tutorial on all in one seo, which i know you would have because its installed on your site. go to the page that has no content ie your diet page, and scroll down to the all in one widget and enter in a description for this page you want the search engines to index. By default it will show the top 3 to for lines in the page, if you have no content or code like tables etc, this will show instead. But the easy fix is to write a new description in the plugin, and some keywords, and a new title, that way your set far as google index for that page.
Lastly your email link doesn't work on your about me page, when you want to write an email address on a page write your email address select it and click the link icon, then paste the email address in as the link, wordpress will format it correctly.

I cannot thank you enough for the help. Mom in progress to fix what you've told me. I have a google account and didn't even know what google we masters or analytical was. Ip went onto webmaster and to verify my website is mine I need to post some verification code on my site. How do I do that. Just do it as a post and then delete it? Or is there a place I leave that no my site?

Ok very simple for you, I'll break down the easiest way to do it,
log into google webmasters www.google.com.au/webmasters with your gmail account,
If you were given a verification code, there is two ways to do this, one is download the html file and upload it to the root of your site, via ftp or from your hosting control panel. click verify and if it works will say success, and then your done, the other is to click verify by meta tag, but instead of hacking your theme or site to insert the code, do the following, you will have a bit of code like this <meta name="google-site-verification" content="Dq8Ea4ei96eD_Dq8Ea4ei96eDW9FaY6eDW9FaYXx1" />now copy the Dq8Ea4ei96eD_Dq8Ea4ei96eDW9FaY6eDW9FaYXx1 from in between the quotes, paste into your clipboard or a note pad, now open a new window and log into your wordpress site, navigate to your all in one seo plugin, scroll down till you find the webmasters verification section, and insert your copied code here. click save and your done, go to webmasters tools and click verify. It should work but if you have problems, double check you copied it correctly, and if that fails do the upload method. You can also verifiy your bing webmasters account this way too.

ok, you need to find a theme that really suites your site. The Green background isn't my favorite but if you like it that is all that matters. A great Wordpress SEO program is yoast and it is free. they will help guide you through the process of getting it set up, if it becomes difficult shoot me a message and I'll try to walk you through it.
