Have you ever wanted to display your email address on your website but didn't because of spamers.
Have you ever wanted to display your email address on your website but were affraid to because of spam?
Well this simple trick will ward away some of the spam bots.
Knowledge needed: Basic html coding ( can be done in the text tab in wordpress).
Ok instead of displaying the usual mailto:you@yourdomain.com email link within your web page, use the following code within your html, or (text page in wordpress).
<a href="mailto:you@yourdomain.com">Contact Us</a>
When your email link is clicked on, it will display your email address correctly.
So your substituting @ for the numerical symbol instead @
Obviously subsitute you for your email and yourdomain for your website.
Give it a try, see if it works for you.

Further to this I wrote a few other ways to replace your email on your blog.
On my own blog http://chrislanauze.com/tutorial/how-to-best-display-your-email-address-on-your-website-without-getting-spam/
Thank you for the information. It is very helpful to know. My question is how do you set up your email under your domain name. If you or someone knows the answer, please leave me a message. Unfortunately I am very new to website building so I do not possess a lot of knowledge. Thanks.
Hi msdj8163,
This depends entirely on your web hosting service? But generally if you are using a service that is cpanel based then you can set up one in a couple of steps.
If you are using a hepsia control panel then it only takes one step.
Who is your hosting service? So I can tailor my answer for you.
This is for my website site for promoting WA so it would be wordpress. Thank you for your assistance.
Hi msdj8163,
I think you might be a bit confused as to my question to you, so ill break it down a little more for you.
And tell me if I have confused your question?
If you want to create an email address for your domain, like me@mydomain.com (doesn't exist). The first thing i needed to do was to purchase web hosting.
From there I can install WordPress, and create as many email addresses as i need.
Now a common application for web hosting providers is a program called Cpanel, some advanced web hosts use a program called Hepsia.
If you're talking about a WA website hosted here, im afraid your out of luck, i don't think kyle will issue an email address with the website.
For a tutorial on how to setup an email address in cpanel, there are heaps on youtube, in no particular preference heres one i found that shows you, http://youtu.be/6coTuEVU5zA
For setting it up using hepsia, its so easy but here is a quick intro to the control panel, on my webhosting http://lanauze-designs-webhosting.com/videos/ click on the Fully-featured Email Manager link and a popup window has the video.
Do you have a domain name? Where is it hosted? The host will have some tutorials on how to setup an email address for their hosting.
Chris, Thanks for the info. I appreciate and will use on the new website I am building to replace a website I just shut down. I am not using WA to host the site but Wordpress.
Hi msdj8163,
Glad you have got something out of my comments, never know if im rambling or telling something good.
Anyway if you have set up a site over at wordpress.com then you are out of luck they do not provide you with your own email address for wordpress.com but they talk about it here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/ and you can see ways they suggest you can use an email address with them.

G'day Chris, useful tip. I was visiting your website and saw the other 3 ways to add the email address. First time I've heard of the .png image idea - good one! I see you are in Melbourne. I don't get over there as much as I used to, but Sydney is nice too. ~Jude
Glad you got something out of it Jude, Yeah Sydney is nice, do you live in Australia?
Yes, I live in Sydney's eastern suburbs. I came to Australia 20 years ago (from Canada), lived in Melbourne for a while, then moved to Sydney. ~Jude
