I am in the middle of the training, Course 3-Lesson 8. At the end of the page, the task 1 is "Test, Test, Test!"
The checkboxes list looks like this:
1)add only ads
If I remember properly as it seems that long ago I think you can do it on posts that you have already done, Put just an ad on one post, affiliate links on another and then one post that has both. If you are not sure still watch Kyle's video again. xx
He didn't have a video on that page! Unless I missed it... I'll go back and check. Thanks for responding! :)

How do we perform the task in course 3, lesson 8?

Hi there, 3 pages of posts should be done as follows:
1, Have one page with adds only, test to see if that will make you money
2. Second page, only affiliate links with no adds, see if that option makes more or less than above
3. Third page, put both affiliate links and adds and see if this way makes the most money.
You are right, without significant traffic it is difficult to compare.
The main objective of the lesson is to teach you the 3 different ways you can monetize pages and posts.
Does that help you?
Very much so. I have decided to move on in the training, and come back to adding ads if I feel like testing out monetizing techniques. For now I am sticking with affiliate links only, because I have been getting mixed feelings about google adsense.
I was just trying to get to the root of the objective, and I do understand the different ways to monetize the site, I am just moving on for now..
Thank you !

I don't have a "Reviews" section in my website... I'd rather promote individually from blog posts and link products from there... is this a good/bad idea? Pros/Cons from anyone
I don't have a reviews page since all my posts are basically reviews in terms of the sharing information about a product I use and recommend. I do have a "reviews" category in my menu however. It seems a bit redundant though and I don't really need it.
I would say you certainly don't need one if you don't want one.
My main menu categories are cat health products and cat behavior products. I may add a category for cat food etc.
Thank you for your perspective. I feel better knowing that some do and some don't. It seems there are multiple ways to go about things
There are definitely many ways it can be done! It would be pretty boring if all our sites were identical anyway!
Hey Gina,
Once you have totally completed Kyle's lessons, go ahead and experiment to see what works best for you.
However, if you have NOT completed the lessons (Getting Started Here - Certificate Course) then I would highly recommend you follow along with Kyle's training to the letter, until completion.
In this way, you will be less apt to become so frustrated because you have ventured so far away from the training ... and, you've run into major issues that you won't know how to get out of.
You could add categories to your posts, for example "Reviews", "News", etc. and then add those categories to your menu, in Appearance > Menu and add category items.
Then when you click on Reviews in the menu, only posts with that category will be displayed.
Is there a way to promote/sell without giving full out reviews in a "reviews" page? I mean I give reviews, but more in a conversational speak, not by listing my rating, best price, etc... does that make sense?
I just kind of talk about the items in a compelling way and use keywords to have people link to the stories behind them
