From Hare to Rabbit

Here I am just 3 weeks into my WA journey...

I'm on course 4, lesson 7 of the training modules. I have created/updated a Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, and Google + account, and I have produced multiple posts on them, started to follow multiple people, and have received multiple followers. It feels so good !

I never really knew the use for social media, and I kind of always had a negative connotation towards it. My Facebook account was set up for years, but I never felt like engaging because most of the 'content' was just trash, to be blunt. As Kyle stated, people "hang out" too much, and complain too much, and are negative too much (here I am complaining about them complaining :)

Well, It's because I was experiencing it in all the wrong light. After joining this supportive community of online entrepreneurs , I have finally started to see the benefits and goals of it: to connect, engage, and create.

I have had a much easier time doing this with a whole new group of like-minded people (that's you!) who want to put forth their efforts to create and be positive. Now that I see the potential and weight that social media carries, I will surely be using it more.

My goals for the next 3 months (continuing from my last "goals" post) is to:

1) Make a Sale

2) Write 2-3 articles weekly

3) Post at least 1 of my articles to at least one of the social media networks weekly (or as frequently as I write posts). I know I can do more than this, but if I at least meet my realistic goal, my motivation will skyrocket from there.

4) Tweet once a day

5) Follow at least 5 new people on G+ daily

6) Find 5 Pinterester's to follow daily

I also expanded my niche from soaps and essential oils to preventative health care (handwashing, aromatherapy, mental health, etc) I understand this may be too broad of a niche, but seeing as my 'brand' is my website, I want people to experience everything I'm passionate about, not just one aspect of it. So I took the plunge and am taking the path less traveled.

My question being, what are some of the biggest obstacles to face with a wider niche?

Thank you to everyone who has provided warm comments and suggestions along the way! You are my inspiration to keep moving forward.

I was told that my niche of cat health and behavior was too broad when I started. I disagree. I am glad I kept it broad. I am trying to be very authentic and only review products I personally use. If I made the niche very narrow it would be even harder to have enough product reviews.

This is already a challenge. I am still starting out without a ton of content on my site and many, many aspects still to explore. I have a limited social media presence and need to work on other platforms besides Facebook, G+, Flipboard and Quora. My point is that I do not know all the obstacles I will face yet so I can't fully answer your question! However, I am glad I chose the niche I did.

I am still thinking seriously about starting my nutrition and supplementation site and I will have to decide how broad to make it! There are trade offs of course whether you have a broad or narrow niche. I think it is very important to be authentic however so there is a degree of flexibility. What makes you most comfortable will benefit your site.

Well done. Tracey

Great plan. Good luck!

Thank you :)
