How Did You Find Wealthy Affiliate?

Hi everyone. Time and time again I see members comment that they don't remember how they found WA but they are glad that they did.

A few months ago when I first tried to remember how I got here I did some digging and found out when and why:

A Lost Boy
I was one of those unfortunates that had signed up for EN but, fortunately, didn't go "all in" because I would have had to sell my house...or my soul...or something. But during my few short months there I continued looking for an honest review about them, not something one of their minions crafted so they could all rank at the top of Google.

Eureka
I somehow stumbled onto the Work From Home Watchdog site, found the review I was looking for and then wondered...what else do these guys have. And they led me to WA and the rest, they say, is history.

There Are Still Things That Glitter
I will admit that sometimes in my internet travels I see "the next great opportunity to make a lot of money online"...and I...remember the lessons learned here and what brought me here in the first place. And I sit firmer on my wallet.

What's Your Story?
How did you get to WA? What convinced you to sign up? Go back to your own beginnings and remember why you joined, whether you're Premium or not. Therein lies your motivation to stay. The past truly does hold the lessons for the future.

Thanks for reading.

Yes I was doing research on one of the scams and ran across a review of the one I was researching and left a comment to Ian and he contacted me back. Now it is all history now and having fun creating more history.

That's a good point, Tommy, are we letting those know about WA who leave us comments? Sometimes a direct connection back could make all the difference. Kyle talks about using comments more effectively in the Phase 5 Boot Camp training.

Great post Rick.I found WA as a result of a search to learn how I could gain competence in how to build a website. I was tired of being dependent upon some else to build my websites and frustrated by the "free website" offers that attempt to suck your wallet dry with up sells.

Building a website is so critical to our success. Difficult many times but so worth the time and energy. Thanks for reading.

I too was a struggling EN member but didn't realise how much I was being swindled until I happened on Kyle's review of EN. I was upset with the shredding job Kyle did on EN but couldn't argue with most of it but I did try. Needless to say Kyle convinced me to take a look at WA and I will always be grateful that he did. Wa is the best!

I'm so glad you found WA. We sometimes need to give ourselves a kick in the pants for foolishly signing up hither and yon to the next bright shiny object. Oh we'll, live and learn. All the best to you here.

Actually EN is a very legitimate business. Its based off of bogging via a WordPress blog thats already done for you. All you have to do is blog about anything literally as long as its not promoting illegal activity. You don't have to use the EN blog but it does make it 20 times easier not to mention you can monetize your blog any way you want with other programs or using an ad network and you put your EN link on all of your blog posts. Its not a get rich quick. Think about it you sign somebody up you get their 25 bucks every month sign up another now you have 50 not to mention any commissions from the Inner circle or other products. The 12 year old who made $12,000 in 6 months he was on stage at the Chicago EN convention a few months ago. My question is how long did you give EN a go before you quit? I'm not trying to down you for quiting its just maybe you didn't give it time or you weren't using all the marketing thats available to you as an affiliate of any program. Maybe there is some suggestions or marketing tips I can give you.

OK, so why would anyone pay $25 a month to blog? You can do that here, on an entire website of your own making, for free? If you just want to blog and not build a full website, there's blogger.com, wordpress.com, squidoo.com and any number of other sites, again all for free. Rich.

I'm curious, Nate-Young as to why you would sign up at WA...could it be the value of the learning you get here for free as opposed to paying EN $5K? I'm also curious how EN is not a pyramid scheme which is defined as money passing upward through recruitment without the distribution of products? Amway is an example of successful network marketing company. I don't see that with EN...just my opinion.:):)

Hi Nate-Young
I gave EN a reasonable effort, even threw some other money at it that they said i should do (Daegan). For two months I could not figure out what the product was, and I tried. It seemed to be selling the same program that I bought and blogging about it. But there wasn't any training for a newbie to guide us and help us learn proper internet marketing. I then got banned from Google adwords, again because of lack of training; just do it, I was told.

I didn't know that about the 12 year old but when I was with them they were using a grandmother type to show us how it could be done. I'm wondering where a grandmother and a 12 year old get their leads?

I found the "training" to be somewhat laughable: listening to voice recordings and watching videos with amateur props, nothing like I would expect from a million dollar company.

But what really got me was the language and derogatory comments made to and about members. I suspect if Kyle and Carson started calling the WA members a bunch of "wussies" we would leave in droves. That seems to appeal to the owners of EN and maybe is how they want to be branded. But that didn't work for me; it's not professional nor respectful. I would never treat my customers like that.

So all in all, while I appreciate your offer to help, I have no interest in revisiting that time in my online life. I'm quite willing to write it off as a poor decision that was made for the right reasons. I will succeed online and the training and support here at WA is far superior to what I received at EN. It's not even comparing apples to apples. Thanks

@Rick...Well Spoken sir.

@Nate-Young... I suspect that your view is not very popular here, and that is fine for you. I have no idea what level that you have bought in to at EN. I feel sorry for you that you have been taken in by their marketing techniques. Stick with it for awhile, learn what the dark side is like and make your own decision. Make sure you keep track of your outlay and income while you are there. I suspect you will find it to be a bit lopsided.

Good Luck.

That is a easy one. My sons email account somehow got high jacked and my wife received an email from him about a new online business. I am sure you all know the one I am talking about. The one with all the TV logos and the promise of easy money by just placing some links on websites.

Well my wife ask me to review it. So I entered the name of the program with the word spam behind it. As I was reviewing sites I ran across one from a WA member. So I decied to check out WA. Way not with a free start up program. I figured I had nothing to waste but time.

I knew with-in the first thirty minutes that I have finally found a program that would be of great benfit to people trying to start an online business. A program I could promote because I could beleive in it. So here I am.

That is such a neat story, thanks for sharing. Took me a month to figure out I was in the right place but then I had just left one of those scammers you reference. So good to have you here.

depending on who you ask me I say it was a God thing. I love it here

I am so glad you're here. You are an inspiration and your enthusiasm is contagious.

I joined once before years ago only to have to leave after just a couple of months due to finances. Once I got my life back in order I returned after WA was briefly mentioned in an email I received a little over a month ago.

Thanks Tony. I rearranged my finances after a month so I could afford to go Premium. It's made a world of difference know I have access to everything here. Well worth the money for an incredible education and community.

I joined way back in April 2007, back then I joined because I wanted to learn more about PPC and my father in-law had just signed up and wanted me to join under him and check it out.

Back in 2007 things here were much different but so was PPC and the whole internet. That's one thing I like about WA, it's always changing and updating as things on the internet and in the marketing world change.

Here is a video type walkthrough I created way back in 2007, little boring and long, but if you're interested in seeing how in looked late 2007 here it is:

Thanks for sharing. I will watch this with enthusiasm. I have noticed, too, that WA is always on top of things. I note the recent Google update that Kyle posted about right away. As always, your trainings are right up there, too. Thanks.

hi i found wealth affiliates in a review from another marketer chris farrell have you made money here if so roughly how much a month?

Hi and thanks for reading. If you're following the training here, and don't expect overnight riches, I can attest that it works.

You really lucked in finding WA. That's how I came here also---by looking for a site that would tell all about scams. I lucked out, too!

Now we're seeing more posts about EN from WA authors so hopefully that will make it easier for the next person. So glad you found your way here, too.

I found WA because I was doing a search on Empire Network and wanted to see if they were all they were cracked up to be. Fortunately I came across a review by Kyle, and I liked it's straightforwardness. I also liked the fact that as I read the feedback and comments (I always read those!!) I saw how helpful he was, and how he genuinely offered to help people with their different issues, and I guess I liked his attitude, his style of writing, and his approach to people. Naturally he referred to WA so I thought I would change my search to see if WA was all it was cracked up to be, and I have to say that even though I've been a member less than a month, I am so pleased with my experience here and have learnt so much already ... just can't wait to put it all into action. :)

This is so good to hear. I read Kyle's post, too, and the comments and I agree, he laid it out in a very straight forward way. I wonder how many EN has driven to WA? hmm
