About Uakoko

I live on a rock out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (Maui). I think working for a living really sucks, so my passion in life is teaching folks, especially minimum wage workers, to become financially free. Working a 9 to 5 really cuts into your freedom. And working to make someone else wealthy while they are mistreating you, as lots of greedy employers do, is hell on earth, IMHO. Now all I have to do is learn how to make money online so I can teach it to others! That's where WA comes in. That's why I'm here...It looks as if this will the best place online to learn what I need to know! So, hello to everybody...I'm happy to be a part of your group!

Thank you so much for your post. You will LOVE Maui, but you've got to work really hard here at WA so you can become a millionaire before you move there, because Maui is EXPENSIVE. Rents for a 3BR 2 bath start at $2300. Poor people can live there---we did it---but it's not as much fun if you aren't well-heeled. I don't live on Maui right now because we had to move back to the Big Island to help out some of our family over here. But our hearts are on Maui. Like they say, Maui no ka oi---there's no place like Maui, and there really isn't. I feel so bad for the local people, because they can't afford to live in their ancestral land any more. So many people (millionaires) have moved here that all the prices have exploded. Hawaiian Airlines have several non-stops to Las Vegas every day because so many people from here have moved there. They even call Vegas the "ninth Hawaiian Island".Well if you just joined WA, welcome. And you really can become a millionaire here at WA, because the training is totally scalable. All you have to do is follow the training, work hard, and ask for help when you need it, and NEVER give up! Beautiful Maui awaits you...Good luck, Ken!

Thanks for following. You are DEFINITELY in the right place to learn how to make money online, all the tools and more importantly, the help, is here. It's just a case of being patient and following the coursework but I recommend taking a look at the Ambassadorship link on the left and following in particular Jay at magistudios who produces some excellent live training (you can replay the videos later) and welshy to name but two who are particularly clued up. Richard (@Rich) also knows his stuff and is very helpful. Good luck, and if you need any help just ask!

My advice would be to at least take up the discount first month offer which gives you a full month to evaluate the site for under $5 a week.

I had to laugh when you said you live on a rock -- lot's of the locals on this island say the same thing (I'm on the Big Island). I followed over here when you gave a long and considerate comment to someone else on another thread. I'm going to follow as what you take the time to share seems very valuable. Hope you are progressing -- I am very new at this, hope to pick up some hints from those been here longer. Best and of course MAHALO!

Well, I'm on the Big Island now, too. I had to give up my cozy apartment on Maui because there were some family problems on the Big Island that I had to take care of, so I moved back. But I moved out of the rain forest. It was beautiful and peaceful, but I couldn't deal with all that rain! Now I'm a few miles farther south where it practically never rains. But I haven't seen a single centipede since I moved. I guess they don't like a really dry environment. I hate their habit of getting in bed with a person and then stinging. I've been stung a few times on the Big Island, but never on Maui, but that was only pure luck. I heard from a girl who moved into an apartment on Maui where I had been living...in fact, she was living in my same bedroom, and she got stung in the neck! In bed, where one is supposed to be safe! I hate those things! I hope you are doing well, also!

Centipedes -- we get them at times. Had a neighbor in "town" (Kailua) who used to have them fall from ceiling - they cut back their trees overhanging the roof and that eliminated that issue.

Yes the dryer the less centipedes you will see. We are South Kona, I am assuming you are talking about even more south. Of course in our case we are upper elevation so it is wetter.

So far I know few people who have been bitten -- usually things like they take a kleenex to pick one up and it bites thru the tissue or putting on shoes without looking inside or gloves that have been on the ground between work sessions.

We turn on lights before we walk and keep an eye out and so far after living here over 8 years (and visiting before that flying back and forth every 2 months for some 5-6 years) so good.

I only really know the Big Island -- although we have one relative that lives on Maui (a Kahu) and also a family and cousins on Oahu.

Well, I'm still toddling along. As Kyle says, every day that you keep moving forward, is a successful day...I'm still building up my websites and writing content for them. Naturally, I bit off more than I could chew, because I had all these great ideas and all this stuff I wanted to tell the world about---Now my fingers have to catch up with my brain!...!Here's a clue for you. Did you see John's blog "T'is The Season"? Well, it really IS!. I went to Jaaxy and bought a domain to sell Halloween stuff, and I'm working on that right now. Amazon has a lot of great Halloween stuff. But soon comes Christmas, and you could get on that bandwagon, if you start now. Read Veronica's blog about 6 ways to make money with your wordpress blog. Put that in the Discussion, and it will open your eyes!

Well, there's the Hawaii of beaches and palm trees, and then there's the other Hawaii. I was laughing when I read your comment, because I was sitting in a cottage with a leaky tin roof in the middle of a rain forest on the Big Island. Guess what it does in a rain forest?! It rains---and rains---and rains. But about 50 miles down the road (The Big Island is BIG!) there is a nice warm beach with the obligatory palm trees...and that's where we fled for the afternoon to get warm!! Thanks for your comment!

Just follow the lessons the way they are laid out. Kyle and Carson are so smart, especially for such young dudes!, that it blows me away. I didn't follow the program in the beginning and I got all messed up. But when I went back to the beginning and followed exactly as the lessons were laid out, then I could see how everything fits together and the places where I got confused were my own dang fault! If you follow, it will actually take you less time. Just keep working every day, and by all means, ask for help if you ever get stuck. That's something else I didn't do and I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out things for myself. What a dodo I was---! Oh, well, one lives and learns! And all the luck in the world to you, too. PS I don't go into the water here...I just look at it. I don't like fish nibbling me...It feels weird. Besides, a young girl just got her arm bitten off by a tiger shark a couple of weeks ago and she died! I like dry land...!

Hi Uakoko, How are things in Makawao? My grandparents lived on Maha Road. Things have changed quite a bit. New subdivisions everywhere! I'm curious to how you are doing with your site. I have a main website which is basically a health site ,focusing on dealing with life after stroke. I joined several affiliate programs, including Amazon and a medical supply company. My new, smaller website focuses on how to earn a living if one is disabled, and I will be marketing Wealthy Affiliates(Just like you), which would be a perfect work at home opportunity for a disabled person. So far, with only main site workingtonly real action I've gotten was from a craigslist posting, in which I snuck a link in . I'm sure that's frowned upon, so I won't rely on that to get me WA referrals. After I saw your site and saw you were just focusing on marketing WA, I thought I'd try that approach also .I just got the shell of my new site up, and may not purchase a domain for that while I focus on my main site. I was just curious on how your site performs, so I can decide on how much energy I will put into each site. It's not too bad, since both niches are somewhat related.
Thanks,
Harvey

You know, WA has a killer affiliate program, and the reason I decided to focus on the Boot Camp is because I figured that I would make money more quickly that way. The reason that it is such a killer program is that if someone signs up under you, even if they are a "ghost" and don't stay, but they come back even years later, they are still yours because WA has lifetime cookies. I always wondered why all affiliate managers don't give lifetime cookies, but most don't. I think Amazon only gives 60 day cookies.
About the new subdivisions, have you seen how they are building up the sides of the West Maui Mountains? I think they have come to the place where the Mts. start getting steep, though....

The weather is better here than it is anywhere else in the US, that's for sure! Maui doesn't have as many earthquakes, which is really nice. The Big Island, on the other hand, shakes like a bowl full of jelly, because it's still growing. I've got to go over there next week...UGH! Well, I don;t like breathing that Vog from the Volcano, either.

We had a great Fourth Of July on Saturday...That was Parade Day in Makawao, the town I live in. Makawao is a paniolo (cowboy) town. It always amazes me to see those tiny, tiny little kids riding those great big horses in the parades, but they wheel them around the street with all the skill of a 35 year old cowboy! I read your blog and was very happy with more inspiration...I certainly NEED it. I keep finding myself doing more fooling around than actually working---!

Hello, Michael! Welcome to WA, and, yes, of course we can network. I have to tell you that, although I love Jesus and all of the things that he said, I DON'T love organized religion. I feel just the way Mahatma Gandhi did when he said that he didn't particularly like the Christian religion because so many Christians are so un-Christ-like. I have noticed how true that is! I hope you do very well here at WA. When we get rich because of the teachings here---and we WILL get rich!---think of all the good things we can do for humanity! I have a list already that is a mile long---!

Reply
uakoko Premium
Re: the 9 to 5 servitude---We only have one life, and it shouldn't be spent in making someone else---who is usually totally unappreciative of your efforts---rich. I really like Costco since I heard that they pay their workers a good living wage --- and benefits! I think they pay them over $17 an hour. They have happy, well-fed workers and it has only improved Costco's bottom line! Who wants to go into a place like Walmart and deal with unhappy, surly, miserable workers? Well, as far as I'm concerned, those Waltons can endow all the museums they want to, and I still think they are horrible people. I guess they don't love Jesus...They certainly aren't paying attention to His teachings. I haven't stepped foot into Walmart for many years---I know they really miss me---! Ha ha...

Thank you for the welcome. I'm so glad that you have decided to never sell your precious time to anyone else for their measly pittance. You are way too valuable for that. I've been struggling online for eight miserable years, and I finally discovered (I'm a slow learner...a REALLY slow learner) that what Kyle says is true. ..Focus on one thing and become an expert in that one thing first. Old Chinese proverb: Man who chases two hares will catch neither. Truer words were never spoken! Lots of good luck to you...
Reply
kiya05 Premium
Thank you, I love that proverb, it's exactly my problem most the time, trying to do too much, so everything is started, and nothing is finished. I'm finally weeding things out with my crafts, etc., and just trying to stick to what I really like. I'm a real slow learner too, at least as far as this internet stuff is concerned, but then I figure, it's all new, nothing much to build on as in most jobs, like learning a new language or something, but we'll get there. I keep telling myself, just take baby steps, and you'll get there, maybe not as fast as some, but you'll get there just the same. Well, it's a beautiful day, after a cold winter, so I'm going out in the sun, and just not thinking of anything else today. Have a good one.

Good day and welcome to the Wealthy Affiliate community! The first thing I suggest you do is jump into a live chat and introduce yourself. You will find this on the main Dashboard within WA. Here you will find other members within the community (including myself) that you will be able to communicate with, network with and get help with. :)

Lots of help here and a lot of people that care about your personal success. If you get stuck, simply ask! I look forward to working with you!

Oh, and I wanted to also point you in the direction of the Getting Started Course which is located on your dashboard, and in the main menu under recommended training "Getting Started".

Hey there! I wanted to start you off with a quick note that could SIGNIFICANTLY impact your success with Wealthy Affiliate. Read this entire message if you are serious about being successful in internet marketing (it's lengthy, but I'm not joking when I say that this advice could make or break your entire internet marketing career):

1) You'll need to work consistently and hard. There's going to be a lot to learn in the beginning and you may feel overwhelmed at a point, but keep pressing forward and you'll make it through. It happened to me and every other successful internet marketer at some point, and the only way to become successful in this industry is to push past that overload whenever you get there.

Do yourself a favor and commit to a number of hours that you can work each week right now. It doesn't have to be massive, but it should be more than 10 between evenings and weekends at least. Just remember the more you work each week, the faster you'll learn and draw closer to success.

After you've picked the number of hours you can work each week, commit to working that much for AT LEAST six months - a year would be better. You won't see results immediately in this industry, and being consistent is the key. Pick a number of hours you can work each week, then work those hours for at least six months. It's something you've probably never done in this industry, and this advice alone will make a HUGE difference in your chances at succeeding with internet marketing as long as you take it seriously and STICK WITH IT.

2) I recommend starting off with this training (which you can access with your free account): https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1

It just scratches the surface of the MASSIVE amount of helpful content in WA, but you'll get a good "feel" for the teaching style here and begin to see the power of all of the great things they're teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate.

3) DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. Two of the best places you can go to for help when you get stuck are the "Live Chat" and the "Forum" sections located on the panel to your left. You'll find direction and inspiration through the community here, which is one of the reasons I recommend WA so highly.

4) Finally, you don't ever have to upgrade to the premium account here at Wealthy Affiliate if you don't want to. You'll have limited access using your free account for as long as you wish. HOWEVER, if you're serious about internet and affiliate marketing then you should invest in the premium membership for AT LEAST one month. You could look back on it years from now and see it as a pivotal moment in your internet marketing career, but you never will if you don't at least give it a try.

Check it out for a few days though - you don't need to upgrade right now. Make sure it's a good fit for you, and if you upgrade within the first 7 days you'll receive your first month's membership at more than 50% off. I keep my membership active and recurring every month so I can be here for the people I refer like you, so realize that I'm putting my money where my mouth is here!

On top of that, if you upgrade to a premium membership at the discounted rate within the first 7 days I have a special bonus EXCLUSIVE to people that join WA through me and upgrade within the first week of creating their free account. This bonus will show you how to be twice as successful with WA or any other legitimate internet marketing program out there and gives you some very valuable video lessons (which I recorded for you personally, of course) to ensure you get off to the right step in your internet marketing business.

To claim your bonus, post on my WA wall after you've upgraded to a premium membership saying that you purchased within the first seven days, and leave me your email address. I'll send the bonus your way ASAP.

I don't offer that bonus so you'll spring for the membership and make me more money, I offer the bonus just in case you needed that tiny "push" to make sure you invest in this training because I know that you will use for the rest of your IM career and it could change your life. I've referred hundreds of people now and I have NEVER had anyone tell me they were dissatisfied.

Best of luck to you! You're about to embark on a journey that could change your life forever, so make sure you take it seriously, put in the time and effort, and expect great things in return!

You know where to find me,
Ian Pribyl
