Abundant Thinking Day 4| Abundance Comes Through Wisdom

Day 4 of 12 Days of Abundant Thinking is about the role of wisdom in creating abundance. One of the ancient proverbs I love says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

Much has been written on the value of wisdom. From the perspective of all ancient teachings and world religions, having wisdom is more precious than having a vault filled with gold, silver and precious gems.

Money in and of itself is fleeting.In other words, money can come and go.The reason for that is because money is both spiritual and material.

Money Is Spiritual and Material

If you think that having money is only material you could be trapped into thinking that having an abundance of money would be greedy. Indeed spending money only for material things can be self-serving. But saving money so that you can have it to meet the needs of others is a worthy spiritual motivation.

Money is far more spiritual than you realize. Money comes as the result of the energy of time and effort you expend to create value for others. Money is simply a means of exchanging value for the accomplishment of your life purpose.

How you allocate the money you are entrusted with is entirely up to you. You can spend it, save it, hoard it, or give it in any amount you choose.

The purpose of money is to flow to meet your basic needs and the needs of others.Money that flows is like a river…it continues to flow effortlessly. Money that does not flow is like a pond of water.Without continuous rainfall, it stagnates because the flow has stopped.

You need enough money to sustain your life with food, clothing and shelter. But beyond meeting your basic needs, God wants to supply you with an abundance of money so you can feel free to give to causes that touch your heart.

The challenge most people with a scarcity mentality face with money is fear.We are afraid to give because we are afraid that we will not be abundantly re-supplied to meet our needs. We do not understand that when we give from the abundance of the love in our hearts to advance the purpose of God’s love for mankind, God obligates himself by the richness of his grace through others to give more back to us much as he does through the sowing of kernels of wheat and corn in good soil.

Sowing and Reaping

Sowing and reaping is a godly principle of abundance. Just as sowing works in nature, it works with money.

Farmers know that every seed produces even more seed.One seed of wheat produces one hundred kernels. Isn’t that amazing?

When harvest comes, farmers have a choice.They can eat all of the harvest or they can eat some and reserve some for sowing back into the field to produce an even greater harvest. By thinking of yourself as a farmer, you can enjoy the abundance of the choices you make about money. Eat some, save some and give some.

The paper and metal that currencies are created from are worthless. They are only representations of what the governments who produce them symbolize as having value for exchange.And, because of the intangible effect of inflation, the money hidden in a mattress, a jelly jar or stagnating in a savings account in a bank today will be far less valuable as a means of exchange twenty years from now.

Ten U.S. dollars today may buy one meal for one person. Forty years ago ten dollars could have fed four people for a week.

By possessing wisdom, you can always produce more money. And, you can produce enough money to meet every need you have both now and in the future.

In fact, there is no limit to the amount of money you can produce. Producing money is a simple matter of creating something that adds value to others.

Wisdom, Skill and Work Ethic

Along with wisdom, you need skill and a strong work ethic. Founding President of Stanford University, David Starr Jordan explains the distinctions in this quote…

ABUNDANT THINKING DAY 4 AFFIRMATIONS:

(Remember to say these affirmations out loud.)

The place where I used to dwell is too limited for me.

The mindset I used to have no longer serves me.

I have been promised a liberal flow of abundance by my Creator, the God of the Universe.

I am His creation; He created me to flow with abundance.

I have departed from poverty because I choose abundance.

I am moving towards abundance because I choose abundance instead of lack.

Negative states of mind are destructive; in fact, they de-create.

Affirming my abundance moves me into a state of co-creating with my Creator.

Limiting beliefs of being not-enough tear me down; limitless beliefs in who God wants me to be build me up.

Generous giving brings generous success to me.

My mental attitude determines my material outcomes.

Faith in God is my internal magnet that attracts abundance to me and me the desires of my heart.
