Don't Want to Work Today

Do your legs feel like lead in the morning? Does the thought of opening your front door, getting into your car and turning up for work, attract an instant dark cloud?

It's time to re-evaluate the purpose of keeping that day JOB (Just Over Broke)!

For sometime now, I have had the feeling that my time with my current employer is over.

After the last round of redundancies, I turn up for work each day and wonder will I be next.

At 64, do I really want to find another job? In truth, no way!

What do I want to do?

Simple Answer

I want to work for myself, and I want to work from home. This is why I started my journey with Wealthy Affiliate. After 45 years working for other people, and helping to make them richer, I feel its time I helped me!

Plan of Execution

I have no capital and work from one pay day to the next. I need a source of income. That has to continue.

I cannot quit my job without it affecting my family. Therefore, I have to work on Wealthy Affiliate, and make it work for me. When my WA income matches, or betters my Day JOB, then my mission is accomplished.

I have often thought that people start businesses up all the time. How do they finance these businesses? How do they step out of being an employee to being self-employed, and still pay the bills?

I just need to hang on in there until my website starts to deliver!

Positive Friday

Redundancy, if it comes could be a blessing. The compensation combine with a government small-business startup grant, could be enough to get my business off the ground.

I have my brand new teleprompter to assemble this weekend and give it a test drive.

My primary website will be turned off for maintenance, while I install GeneratePress and Elementor onto my site. When that is done, I will be reducing my plugins to less than five!

If all goes to plan, I hope that Google will appreciate my efforts and start crawling my site properly. 95% of my traffic is from Facebook. I would like to see a reversal and my organic traffic start to grow.

Next week, I will be full-on writing fresh blog posts. Then I have two weeks holiday.

Good luck with the next phase Paul, Alan.

Consistency, persistence and you equal success.

GeneratePress and Elementor are the best in my opinion.

I know, Laura. But still, it can be frustrating. I've been thinking about this a lot recently. I don't know why I worry about my first 20 posts so much! I'm sure my next 280 will be better.

I am getting better, all be it, very slowly. 😊

I do understand, You saw my frustrations. I worry over every post and I now have 70 on my WA site and 127 on my inspiration site.

Laura

yay for the next 280 or even 270!

Sounds like a good plan. Now that you know what you are going to do, youve given yourself the best shot at achieving it.
Good luck

I think most people start their businesses in their spare time until they reach the point where they can leave the day job without loss of income. For me it came with a redundancy. I have myself approx 8 months to make it work before I would have to get another outside job. It’s an excellent spur to work longer and harder than ever before. Worked for me.

I had that feeling at just 38 Paul. A good job in London but working (with travel) 80 plus hours a week to pay a mortgage. 15 years later and I have managed to survive working for myself all of this time including travelling and living in different parts of the world.

At times hand to mouth and a bit like yourself I worry about financing retirement not having properties a private pension or any inheritance to look forward to. I dont every regret leaving because there is no point looking backwards but I do wish I had kept my house in London becuase then retirement would look a lot rosier!

But hey you have a family, a plan, some new toys to play with and 2 weeks holiday soo make sure you enjoy them all.

Ahhh, new toys are always fun to play with. What type of teleprompter did you get if you don't me asking?

Cheers

Michael

Hi Paul, looks like you have both a goal and a plan. Time to execute. Don't take 'woe' for an answer.

Great plan Paul and Generate press is great along with elementor so enjoy and keep trucking along
