Sexagenarian living on the Isle of Man [in the middle of the Irish Sea, sandwiched between Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales], and looking at retirement with weary eyes; looking for income to sustain a protracted vacation!

With over 25 years as an IT professional, my day-job now is Technical Manager. Sounds grand but basically, people come to me to fix things - quickly! I've been a member of the British Computer Society for many years, and I don't make much use of my CiTP (Chartered IT Professional) status as I should.

For over a decade I've been looking at the internet as a source of income. I've always been at a loss of what to do. Too many charlatans and loss of money have repeatedly thwarted my attempts. Before I discovered Wealth Affiliates, I was struggling to make any progress with affiliate marketing. Now I feel I am making headway!

I am longing to be able to walk away from the day job and retire to Thailand.

I'm a great advocate of free quality education for all. I love what Salman Khan has done with Khan Academy dot org.

Be Happy!
Paul :)

It's time I started to record some milestones!
27th October 2018 - Top 200 [197]
17th November 2018 - Top 200 [143]
17th November 2018 - I tripped up by including a trademark in my domain name. My niche site is now under a new domain.
17th November 2018 - I have completed phase 1 of the Bootcamp course.
=== I've neglected my progress! - Here is my Latest News. ===
10th April 2019 After getting lost, and making little progress, applied for and was accepted into this year's Super Affiliate Challenge 2019/2020. The first month is a long one lasting six weeks, through to the 20th May.
2nd April 2019 My Boomer Affiliate site has got off the starting blocks with Domain Authority of 4! Also, my Home Page Authority is now 5. Both had been on 1 since its creation.

Hi Paul we are following each others path already however I always like to say something on somebodies profile page. What I notice when I read your profile is that you live in the UK on a Island, which is quite special I presume. Between Ireland, Scotland, Engeland and Wales. On the Isle of Man, never have been there, I heard it is very beautiful. I lived in Scotland for 17 years and visited several Islands during my time there. Among which Iona, very ancient and special, and Mull.I thought Scotland is very beautifull, only the climate! Suppose it is the same on the Isle of Man. Wishing you continued success, so you can make your dream come true to move to Thailand.! :) Menka

Hi Paul, how are you going? I am reaching out to my network of followers here. I want us to support each other. I have an inspiring family travel blog that I want to share with the world. check it out here. https://gadsventure.com

Would you please do me a favour and give me a follow on https://facebook.com/gadsventure and https://instagram.com/gadsventure and https://pinterest.com/gadsventuretime if you wouldn't mind? It will only take a second and I hope you may even be inspired by some of our content!

My family of 6 have burned our bridges and invested everything we have to travel the world and blog about it for other families. We have sold everything and left Australia in order to make it happen. And we currently sit in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand!

If you reply with your own links I would love to follow you back! I have been a member of WA for a few years now, and have learnt a lot. If I can help in anyway, just ask.

Thanks so much for reading, warm wishes and happy travels!

Hey Paul, Just read your bio. interesting. I really hope that you can have your retirement in Thailand one day. Really nice meeting you. I have found you by the comment you just have sent to a member. I liked it. Since I am here, I realized already that A lot of people think that affiliate marketing is an easy way to make money. I am sure it is in the long run, but in the beginning, you have to put a lot of work in there. No roof without fundamentals and walls!!!!
I hope we can hang out one day and in the meantime enjoy your time and keep on dreaming of Thailand. One day It will happen

Hi Koen,

Retirement will come one day. I don't know when. I call it retirement, but what I mean is "retire" from being an employee!

Affiliate Marketing is certainly not easy, especially in the early days. All of the successful people I have met here in the WA community have one thing in common. They all worked harder than anyone else!

Some made more mistakes along the way and took a little longer, but not one of them gave up! And, neither will I!

I am pleased to meet you, Koen.

Best wishes,
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Nice to meet you! Congrats on making the top 200, I am moving toward it. I love that picture of "the Falls" at Niagra. I have been to the US side, but didn't venture into Canada to catch that view! it is an amazing site to behold. A huge amount of water falling on those rocks!
Thanks for the follow, I am following you back as well.
All the best,

Thanks, Chas.

Nice to be back in the top 200. I'm not even trying! I'm just following the breadcrumbs set by Kyle in the SAC 2020.

I've made considerable improvements to my pre-existing Bootcamp site. I switched to Yoast and made sure every page had a green light. It's not perfect, but it cost me a week's work and my page load speeds are down to around 1.5 seconds.

Since last week, I now have a branding, and I have about 1000 words written for my next post.

I'm slowly working through the 19 point task list. I can see me taking a day off work soon to keep up. Thank goodness for the Easter holidays next weekend.

Best wishes,
Paul

Thank you, Paul.

I've been to your beautiful country twice. Once in '72 when I was in the RN, and we sailed up St Lawrence to Montreal. The second time was in '87 when I visited Toronto, where I hired an RV.

From there I drove to Niagra, Point Pelee National Park, Chatham, then on to the shores of Lake Huron, and finally Lake Simcoe, before heading back to Toronto and home.

I still have a night-time colour photo of the American falls taken from the Canadian side. It's printed on canvas and hanging on my wall.

Best wishes,
Paul

Greetings again, Paul.
Niagara Falls is one of the wonders...

I am a former Professional Chef and I ran a Boutique Hotel for almost five years there.

I also opened one of the first Winery Restaurants in Canada back in 1995. Situated in Historic Niagara-On-The-Lake, Hillebrand's Vineyard Cafe became a World-Class destination.

I lived in England for five years as a child but never made it over to 'The Isle.' Isn't it supposed to be an incredible tax haven operating off-shore?

Like you, I am a Sexagenarian (sounds more intriguing than what it actually means) and probably not unlike you, getting some things in order for the final chapters of my life.

I like your idea of Thailand but something is calling out to me from The New Frontier in Africa.

I think that I am blessed with our paths crossing like this.

I wish you nothing short of complete success in anything you do moving forward.

Kindest regards from across the pond.

Paul Mindra.

P.S. Beautiful photograph of the falls (U.S. Side). The actual 'Horseshoe' (More Canadian Side) is spectacular.

Cheers, mate.

I am assuming 57 is your birth year. My younger brother was born in October '57. Glad to meet you and honored that you are following me. I will definitely return the honor.

I'm also trying to make up for lost time as fast as possible. But I'm quickly figuring out that I can't manage 3 websites and 4 Facebook pages and do justice to this challenge. So several things are going to have to wait for awhile while I do first things first.

I haven't touched my niche site for a while. I am focussing 100% on my WA Bootcamp site.

57 is my birth, day/month :) I am a little older than that. Unchained Melody by Jimmy Young was number one in the charts (UK) when I was born ;)

Hi Paul

Enjoyed reading your bio.

I especially enjoy talking about the area of the Isle of Man! My ancestry came from here.

I was wondering if you may get a chance if you could take some pics of the Waterfall Inn in Glenmaye. My 5th g-grandparents owned this in the 1840's!

Have a nice week!

Hi, Tim.

I can do that no problem! I'd love to. I'm afraid it will have to wait until the weekend. The days are short now and I've still got the yoke of the day JOB to deal with.

You have a good week too.

Excellent, how strange, I had 6 months back in Asia before I moved here 2 years ago, I got the night train up from Bangkok to Nong Khai and the crossed the friensdship bridge in to Laos. A nice quieter way of life and shouldnt need a large income to have a good quality of life. I still have an affinity with that part of the world and do wonder if I might head that way in the future. Best of luck to you, I really mean that, keep in contact!

There is a famous quote from Mark Twain:

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

And that just means - do your hardest task first or at least as soon as you can in the morning. If you do this then the rest of your day is easy from there!

ANYWAY…

Hello, thanks for the follow and welcome to WA. You are definitely in the right place!
People have plenty to share and there is plenty to learn also so take your time and enjoy the experience.

I may not be in the top 200 list anymore (because I don’t socialize here much) but I do have many interesting posts on my site and some you might really like, many people do. I have over 3,000 positive comments, so take a look and get some ideas as to what you can do with your site.

Let me know if I can help you in any way
