When I add the "more" tab at my WordPress post editor nothing happens when I update and look at my site. any help would be appreciated.
How do you abbreviate a blog post with a read more tab?

Hi there,
If I'm understanding your question correctly -- i'm guessing you are trying to shorten your blog posts so it shows only say the first paragraph then will have an option for visitors to click on the "more" tab or "continue reading" tab?
To do that -- click edit post -- directly under the "Add Media" tab is the Bold tab (B) -- follow that line along to your right until you see an icon that looks like a piece of paper torn in half (its next to the ABC icon) -- if you hover your mouse over the icon it will say "insert more tag".
What you need to do is place your cursor, within your blog post to wherever you want the more tag to show -- after that click the insert more tag icon -- dont forget to update and fingers crossed you'll see the change when you view your site :-)
If you decide that you want to change the positioning of the "more tab" just go back into editing mode -- click on the previous insert and hit delete. Repeat steps above until you're satisfied with the look etc...
I hope that makes sense and helps :-)
haha -- do you know what -- i've just realised you have probably already been doing that!! (I just gave myself a slap). I'm sorry, i'm not sure why its not working for ya?? Hopefully my 1st reply will help others who are trying to learn how to shorten their blog posts going forward :-/

Did this step by step and it shows the more across my edit page but does not update or leave a read more icon anywhere! looks the same!
I'm facing this problem right now, too...are you writing directly to a page or to a post? I'm writing to a page - if you are too I wonder if that's the problem.

I wanted to do a little reconfiguring on my sight and was wondering if you can change a post into a page after it was published as a post?
Hi, I am looking to do this as well but i also want the comments to fallow my post into the page I am transferring it to, can i do this?
comments are specific to the post that they are posted on. It's not impossible to move them but it requires you to recode the comment. Probably beyond your capabilities at this point.
Yes you can do this with a bit of latteral thinking. Copy the content from your post into a word doc, delete the content from your post. Create a new page and copy the content from your word doc. Tou can now delete the original post or reword it and create a new post.
The fastest way would be just to copy your post to a new page and give it the same name and then trash the post.
The trouble with that is sometimes your blog will remember the link, and will force you to make put a "2" at the end. You would have to trash the page first, then add the post. You can test it by looking at the 'Permalink" before you publish.

I'd like to have a profile pic next to the comments i've responded to but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm sure it's obvious and i'm just missing it somehow. Any help would be
WordPress officially uses the Gravatar service http://www. gravatar.com There is information on the integration here: http://codex.wordpress.org/How_to_Use_Gravatars_in_WordPress Rich.
Been a while since I have do that so best I remember...1st you have to have a pic on your computer...nest go to your Profile...where it says add photo or something like that,...do it...it will then prompt you...to find it on your computer....
You should search for 'Simple Local Avatars' in the plugin section. That plugin is highly recommended, and I installed it right now for my site.
If you don't already have one, you have to install an avatar plugin to have that feature.
