Hi
I want to try the bulk scheduler from Pinterest, but it requires that the images for the pins be stored on a public site. I don't want to load them in the live media
Imgur: This is a free image-hosting platform that also allows public sharing of images. It’s a straightforward option, though it may not be ideal if you have more advanced organizational needs or large volumes of images.
Flickr: If you prefer to use a more traditional image-sharing site, Flickr is a good choice and can host public images you can easily access for your pins.
not used images will not slow down your site...
but for pinterest do the same as for your site - make the file size right for the size pinterest will use....
Do you mean to say that I can potentially have 5000 pins stored in the media library and as long as I do not use these images on the site itself, the speed should not matter? As I type this I realize it makes sense of the images are not loaded on the pages, speed should be ok. But it will mess my media library, unless I can create a separate folder for the pins.?! Thank you!
there are plugins to organize your media library -so you could look into these...
the only limitation is the max size of your hosting here....
so as long as everything is less than 4gb (or 6gb in your case) then you will be ok....
as you say the images are not loaded onto your site so the impact will be minimal - wordpress still needs to look through the media list of images to show the ones you do have, but it will be minimal time impact....

Where to store images for pins?

Hi Mona,
You can create a subdomain with your main domain in the WA domains area.
From there, install a new site (via HUBS) and ONLY use that for storing the images.
This way it doesn't affect your main website at all.
Alternatively, you can skip the install a new site and use the provided FTP credentials for your new subdomain to upload the images via a FTP client.
Regards,
Jay

Hi
I deleted 2 of the siterubix site I had, but they still show in the Site Manager.
How do I get rid of them?
Thanks!
Deleting hubs does not delete the website. If you want your siterubix to be deleted permantly go to site manager find the site you want to delete and scroll down to the bottom you will find the delete button.
Then clear your cache and refresh the browser and it should be gone.
Perhaps it is a cache issue or queued for removal. You may check back in a while to see if there were done or contact site support
Abie
Maybe the reason it dint go to site support is you did not add it to a domain use one of the site rubix domains then it will go directly to support
My issue was different I tried deleting my sites in Site Domains and they would not delete.
So first go to Site Domains and delete the sites there, and if you have the same issue then contact site support.

Hello
I am trying to add images to my blog posts and I get this error:
The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2024/07.
Mr Google says that
Refresh your screen, empty the cache, and try again. Try a different browser or device.
If the issue persists, please contact the site support - Help tab top menu.
Sometimes when a simple task like uploading an image quits working you can just back out of wordpress completely, close it out, then log back in and try again. It usually works just fine. Just a little Wordpress glitch that can happen from time to time.
Thanks Eric. Unfortunately logging back in did not help.
The message sometimes changes to say that the server is busy and to upload a file that is 2560 pixels...I also noticed that updating the posts takes longer that it used to. When I click on Update, there is a noticeable delay.
Do you have an image optimizer?
I use Imagify (a plugin), but there are others out there.
I just down load the image ( usually from canva) and haven't had any problems. I have never got that message.
I do have. I use the one that was suggested in the course Kraken I believe it is called. I was able to upload other images successfully, but today I keep getting that error...

Hi
I want to make some changes to the look of the site and I am getting nowhere. Nothing major. I want to have an image across the top - instead of the default white he
I second the motion to go check out Eric's Wordpress Wisdom. There are other trainings you can check out by searching the magnifying glass and the classes tabs as well.
I have generate press, its light and easy to use, and easy to customize IMO, using the block editor.
Initially, you want to add content, so you may worry about the design elements when your site starts getting traction and traffic.
Logos can be edited and adjusted in the canva app and later uploaded to Wordpress.
I also think you are overthinking the process; let's start with adding content.
If you go to my profile and to my blog I have a ton of Wordpress video tutorials covering ways to customize your content. Even if a particular video isn’t about something you’re looking to do specifically, watching it will give you an understanding of how customizable GP is. GP absolutely utilizes the block editor and it’s one of the easiest to customize once you get your hands dirty. All my videos show how to customize using the free version. 👍🏼💯
Regarding your logo size... You can go into Appearance -> Customize -> Site Identity (in your WordPress back office), and play with the logo size there.
Hi Mona! I would suggest asking SiteSupport to create a staging site for you so you can play around with different themes and designs. GeneratePress is a block-based theme, it's what I'm using for my sites. I did upgrade to GP Premium and I also use their GenerateBlocks plugin as well (free version). I just use the WordPress built-in block editor, and leverage some of the additional GP specific block elements because I find them a bit more versatile .
