I am launching a website on May 1st, selling cashmere products that I have designed myself, the clothes are my own brand. I was wondering if anyone had any tips about starting

I hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for that.

I know that the Europese http://Bol.com is having cooperations with third party suppliers, you could dive into this.

Nice one thank you, we are retail we have a contact in Nepal where we will be getting our products from. We thought about wholesale but decided to just go for it.

Try this site for tips

Ok so my website has been up and running for a while now, I have a few subscribers, however, I haven't really gone down the route of putting lots of affiliate links on my site.

I put a really basic disclosure statement in my profile that appears at the bottom of every post and page. .
"Janelle B.M is a modern day nomad, affiliate marketer and long term member of Wealthy Affiliate University. She earns a commission from some of the products and services mentioned on this site. Words herein are copyright of the Author, opinions are her own."

CYA as Leo always says. Cover Your Apples!

I like it, thank you that's very helpful

Mikey

I feel that as long s you are providing value on a regular basis; information or a service that people are "looking" for;
PUT maybe the top three things out on your site that your keyword search comes up with.
Don't crowd it, as PJGerman wrote. or better yet., follow your gut feeling.

Thanks for your help. Mikey

There really is no need to intro yourself as an affiliate unless your chosen niche IS affiliate marketing. Just introduce the Advertisements slowly. One or two a week. Keep in mind, major branded websites such as eBay, CNN, etc don't announce that they gain revenues from clicks or affiliate sales.

Just put a Privacy Page and perhaps a Disclaimer page in your footer menu. JMHO.

Ok nice one thank you for that. Mikey

kyle also suggested that no more than three affiliate links per page, you could just have image banners in the side bar which people can click if the product or service interests them, most people are used to advertisements on websites

Agreed!

Good advice, thanks for that. Mikey

Well, I have finally got 2 subscribers on my site, my question is what to do next? Obviously I don't want to bombard them with affiliate links etc. I use aweber so I'm just get

See Greg has give you a nice bit of training to check out hope it has helped you

This Jay's training is a complete walkthrough on this topic: Greg

Fantastic thanks for that. Mikey

Thanks for question
Sami

follow up with them.
and give occasional value content to them.

Thanks for that.

you need to write a series of emails to send sequentially to your list.

Ok I will do that thank you for your response.

I guess the first question is what did they subscribe for?. What was your call to action to get then to subscribe? Once anyone subscribes to a list then a "thanks" for subscribing or registering email should be automatically sent to your new subscriber which you have previously set up in your autoresponder. To keep them interested you could give them a little free item, e-book, report etc that they can download straight away..Then depending on your niche or original call to action I'd suggest a follow up email within a few days asking them if they enjoyed your "gift" and give them more information on what they registered for. You will find out if they are still interested in what they registered for as long as they don't unsubscribe. After the "thank you"
and "follow up" emails, if they're still on board then you could mention ONE of your affiliate offers in your next email, as long as that email still contains the sort of information they originally registered for.
All these emails can be pre-written in most autoresponders and scheduled to be sent out at predetermined times. Hope this helps.

That's great feedback thank you. I have set up a free yoga book that I have sent to them and yes I can schedule other follow up messages in aweber. Thanks again.

You're welcome Mikey'

Ok so you made a comment in a discussion, can you go straight to it through your notifications? What's the best way email only?

Both Email and Notification links do take you to the relevant comment BUT you must be patient, it may take a few seconds before your browser jumps to the relevant part. ~Jude

Ah thank you the patient part is something I'm not great at! Mikey

or you can note the persons name and type it before you start what you want to say. that way you can get the persons attention. always focus on the name and type it out.

Thank you nice suggestion. Mikey

i just found out, when a person has not been given an answer, a small green sign comes near his name; you click on that and the name comes up for you to address the person. cheers

Looks like upsgirl has you covered.

Thanks yeah cheers. Mikey

see upsgirl has answered, have a good weekend, chat you need to be on there at the time as its live chat and if you want to talk to someone click on their reply button

Ok thanks for that. Mikey

Yes.
Either email or click on the Notifications...

Hi thanks for your reply yeah the email takes you straight to the conversation but the notification just takes back to the post itself and not necessarily to the point where you were in a 'chat' with someone else? Is there any other way apart from email that will do this for you?

Mikey

Email and Notifications...both take you where you left off...you can also scroll!
Are you referring to LIVE CHAT? No options.

If you're involved in a chat, why can't you straight to it?

Is there a way of delivering new content to your network quickly? I'm not sure people are seeing my new articles etc. Admittedly I haven't done enough in the way of feedback to oth

You could post to any of these threads, your followers should see it in their notifications as well as any others who have participated recently in that thread

Ah thanks perfect exactly what I was looking for thank you again. Mikey

You're welcome

Of course, I do it daily. Write it all out in Word Perfect, Word, or Notepad -- then c&p it directly into your dashboard form. Proof it again, link your WA, insert images --- and Voila! :-)

Aha thanks, what do you mean copy & paste into your dashboard form whereabouts is that? sorry for being thick! Mikey

Besides the excellent ideas here, you can also ask for comental directly through WA platforms.

You mean the different discussions after each lesson? Mikey

Sorry...just got home....see you got the answer...that is the most important part!

Yeah cheers

You can inform people (email subscribers) automaticly about your every post

Sorry no I meant people on my WA network? Mikey

Twitter, Facebook, Stumble, Google+ Linkedin and any other social media platform that you build a following with,

Hi yeah sorry I meant my WA network? Mikey
PS is stumble upon becoming bigger and bigger? What about Reddit?

Social media is best. Throughout your training, you were asked, multiple times, to Post your "homework" so if I were you, start Posting them for others to see and Comment. It's not too late to "catch up" but a lot of time has sure been wasted.

Yeah I know I was doing that with my first website, so you think maybe go back through the bootcamp or the classes and post on there? Can you post directly to your WA followers? Mikey

Yes, to the first question.
No, to the second. You'll be effective just Posting through the links, as suggested.

Ok thank you very much for your support. Mikey

You're welcome!
