I have been an artist since the age of 15, selling my first canvas after my children left the nest. I am self-taught and very successful. I moved into commission artwork and sold more. I did take a Creative Writing course in Redding, CT, my home state and have sold some free-verse, ebooks, and written articles and blogs for years now.
Occasionally, I run into friends or strangers who angst over Content Writing; a big part of owning your own website. This ultimately led to freelance/ghostwriter jobs. I have sold my own art when the economy was in better shape, and there is no reason not to sell my own writing. Blogging content for my four websites has been a daily routine and it easily slid into doing this for added income. I always considered a "sold painting" to be a windfall, but writing blogs my sorta Friday paycheck.
Writing comes as easy as a painted canvas to me, but I try not to overload myself. Three blogs per day is my limit while leaving me plenty of free time for life activities. PM me if you want a weekly or monthly keyword-rich blog content with your signature at the bottom at a reasonable price.
Today, I live in SC with my retired Navy Cmdr husband -- we are both internet savvy, and never stop learning. Internet marketing keeps the mind busy and the income doesn't hurt either. For obvious reasons, residual (or passive) income is the best way to go.
