Keyword #1 on Google
Keywords are the base of a good SEO. On base of these keywords or keyphrases your web site may or may not be easily found.
Incorporate your main keywords in the URL. The first word is the best, the second word, the 2nd best.
I could have started this blog with the title What to do for a high rank in Google.
Then the first keyword phrase would be "What to do for a" which will not be so appealing for Google. So I changed the sentence with the first word "High" and second word ¨Rank"
Example: Do you sell Honey, Bee Products, Propolis, Royal Jelly
Wrong: www.yourwebsite.com/why to use bee products (much to broad, a lot of competition in every why, to and use)
Right: www.yourwebsite.com/Healthy Bee Products Versatility Flower Honey Professional Explained
Keywords in your domain name as www.healthybeeproducts.com in stead of www.loesknetsch.com Your keywords in the domain name have a major impact. Find a good domain name with your top keywords included, which you can use in almost any article on your page.
Choice of domain extension
.com is mostly used for commercial purposes. .edu and .gov are more scientific.
Keywords in the title tag
Put the keywords in the title tag. Make your title not too long. Limit it to some 10 words and preferably not much longer than 60 to 70 characters. Put your main keywords in front of the title. More important, the more forward.
Keywords in the description tag
Not extreem important but also place your main keywords in front of the description tag. Limit the description tag to about 160 characters.
Keywords in the keyword tag
The keyword tag is often described as unimportant. Use the keyword tag, make SURE that these keywords in the body text occur. Do not enter tags which do not appear in your text. You can't fool Google. It is not proven if a hashtag# will put in more value. I always fill in a tag as follow #Honey #Proplis #Royal Jelly #Bee Products etc. Anyway, just fill them in!
The density of the keywords in the body text
Make sure your keywords occur several times in the text. In the first and last paragragh. A density of 3 to 5% give a good indication.Place at the beginning. Of course keep the text readable.
Keywords in the H1, H2, H3 tag
Weave your keywords in a head title. One is enough, do not overdo. Place at the beginning.
The keywords font
Words that are in bold or italic - are assigned a bit more important.
The distance between keywords
People search the Internet mainly with two or more keywords. Try to put these keywords as close together as possible.
Placement of multiple keywords
Pay attention to the placement of these keywords. If the visitors enter a search term, then build these keywords in the same order. f.e. do they enter Bee products for your health or do they enter Healthy Bee Products. Look what is best in the keyword tool.
Key words in the Alt Tag
Fill in ALT tag when placing images in the web page.It gives a short description of the image. You can record your best keywords in one picture. Do not overdo it, Use at most 5 words.When you add more pictures, just call them for what they present.
Keywords in links to other sites and internal links
Use your keywords in the link to this website.

Right: for more healthy bee products .....
When building links on your own pages, it is advisable to use the key words in these internal links.

Just read again, fill in some new info.
The growth of the number of links (f.e.comments)
If the number of links to your website are growing steadily, it's good.
Very important are the keywords in the link, when you leave a comment on a website, try to use prases from the content in your comment.
When you get a comment as Hello ....great website, keep up the good wurk, greetings....
edit the comment as follow, Hello.....great website about healthy bee products, keep up the good work, greetings ..... (don't overdo)
The popularity of the page that links to you
The higher the page that links to you regarded, the better. Leave your comment and with that your website address on popular sites as Greenpeace or so.
An incoming link from an Expert site
An Expert site is a website directory, which group of links on a specific topic. If you have a link to such a page, this could have a positive impact on your rankings. Find expert sites to enter your link on.
The time visitors spend on your site
Google measures the bounce rate. Your visitor did not find what they where looking for by clicking on the link in the search results, it may decrease your website ranking. Adjust your landingspage or keyword phrases if the bounce rate is skyhigh.
Bookmarks
If a visitor bookmark your page. It is a quality stamp. Via the toolbar, Google will record this and will process this in its search algorithm.

Thanks Cathy, that's probebly because I started from scratch, I stumbled myself over all those things, and recognize the most people explain things in professional jargon, they are skipping significant info.
You are absolutely right about that! About the only way I can keep up with all the training is to keep a cheat sheet in Excel. But I totally missed the broken link tracker! And now I can add to it your hints about KWs. :-)
In fact, following these instructions I realized that I can make links from a well known site where I contribute, to my own site on mountains. I just wonder if I would get into trouble, they may feel (perhaps with a good reason) that I am misusing it.
Any opinion about this issue?
When you make a read more about..... and send visitors to their site, I hardly can imagen misusing
I mean the following:
a) I make link from my own site to that authority site, and this should be fine for them.
b) I make link from their site to my own site, that is where I may expect problem. Am I right? Though I am one of leading contributors (within top 5 authors there) to their site and I am now linking my contributions there to my pages on my own site, in both directions.
You are talking about link farming, automaticly placed links, Google rewards sites with human placed links that reflects true value on both sites
This is too complicated terminology for me, do not follow. I make links between those sites myself of course, and I can make many links because of many of my contributions to their site.
OK this is fine, but will they feel that I am misusing their site if I make links from their huge authority site (in fact from my own pages there) to my own site?
