Google updates, Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, and Hawk
Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, and Hawk
Google updates what does this mean?
Search engine optimization after Panda, Hummingbird, Penguin is called Hawk.
Google updates
For some time now, search engine optimization involves keyword proximity [nearness in place, time, order, occurrence, or relation] and density. According to the experts, good page optimization is about writing with the right amount of exact keywords, including keywords in every filename, every page, and so on. The standard SEO way of thinking for the past years was: The more keywords you can process in a page, the better the ranking of the page would be. This has worked well for years. However, since the release of the Google updates Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird, the writing of good web texts has gone into different direction.
Keywords
It is no coincidence that website owners and web writers learned to include keywords as often as possible in their text. Search engines are text robots. They can not view images or listen to podcasts. In fact, search engines are very limited. The only thing that can charm them is text. Text in which they find the words with which they can determine the relevance of a page in file names, titles, photo tags and other page elements.
The Panda was released
A few years ago, Google started to make significant changes to ensure that they could offer their searchers a higher quality of content. The first change was the Panda update. In order to determine the quality of content, Google has started to determine elements such as trust, popularity, duplicate content, originality and added value. Articles and e-commerce sites with delivered content increased enormously in hits, while others struggled to ensure that their site content complied with Google's new standards.
The penguin freezes over-optimization
About a year later, Google came up with the Penguin update. In this update mainly the building of links to the website was scrutinized and restricted to ensure that only qualitative links from and to websites provide value. Over-optimization of web pages has also been added to the list of things that website owners must avoid. This means that the number of times a keyword combination is used is less important and you should now also use synonyms.
The Hummingbird takes flight
Most recently, Google announced their completely renewed ranking algorithm. One of the most important aspects of Hummingbird is handling voice searches and call queries. In essence, 'Hummingbird' is better at recognizing and understanding how spoken searches and keyboard-entered searches can mean the same thing.
Conclusions
Now when we merge the effect of all three updates, we can see that Google is no longer interested in blindly linking searches to websites based on matching keywords. They want to better understand what the visitor is looking for, so that they can show the most appropriate, most relevant index results.
Actions
Whether you are just starting to write texts for your website or want to change your existing website; here are a few suggestions.

The Hawk
On 22 August 2017, Google again performed an algorithm update. The Google Update Hawk is a successor to the Hummingbird, Penguin and Panda update. What can we expect from the latest update? I am happy to explain it to you.
What is the update of Hawk?
This update mainly affects the local SEO results. The way of filtering the local search results (such as SEO Vancouver) has been adjusted. Google tries to avoid duplicate results in a local search. In a previous update there was already filtered on addresses. Unfortunately, there was also filtered between companies with comparable services. The company with the highest organic ranking won. The new update, Google Update Hawk, tries to limit negative effects of filtering from the previous update.
What can you do to get the best out of this update?

Thank you Loes for this update. Seems very complicated anymore to write good, informative and relevant content, all the while doing it the way, and in the order, someone else wants it done. But anyway, many thanks for your work on this.
