Condescending, Rude, and Automated Messages.

Do you ever feel like you just wasted a ton of money on something that you believed in and then realized what a huge mistake it was? I got lost along the way here in WA and I felt serious buyers remorse. I wish there was a way to block people, If I didn't have such condescending responses.... I might have been able to be more successful. But it was a reminder that I should focus on the things I'm actually good at, scientific medial research and just enjoying travel. I got only automated messages and never a personalized one other than where my name was inserted.

Now I find out that despite my purchase only being an hour old.... I'm stuck with it. So at least I can blog about the huge disappointment it's been. "It's not rocket science," is an absolutely horrible response when "trying to help" someone. So, my advice..... really make sure your referrer is helping you. Reach out to the community early on. If you get lost, reach out to the few people who did try to help you in the beginning, this way, you won't be so disappointed when you get answers that insinuate you're stupid. That's why people don't ask for help, the survival part of our brain doesn't want to feel that level of stupidity. I risked it by posting and I was not rewarded. I got talked down to because I only made six posts. I do not remember anywhere in the training that I did complete that I'm going to make money by posting blogs within WA. But then again, as this person pointed out, I only did one level of training.

I got lost along the way. Now, I seriously wasted like $1000 on something that just was not worth it for me. Don't make the mistakes I did.

Christina,
This is why I do not use the automated email system here for
any of the referrals I get. I prefer to talk to each one as they
do matter. Everyone is different in this world some learn faster
than others does this make someone not as smart "NO"
all this means is it takes you a bit longer to absorb the
information and then proceed with it.

You have just pointed out once again that the platform needs
more people with manners and respect for those needing
help from the more experienced members and I thank you
for this.

I would like to apologize and if there is anything I can do to
help you I am available.
Susan

Thanks Marley, I do feel better already from the amazing support offered by MANY and MOST of the members. it's truly amazing. Thank you.

You are very welcome - thanks for posting this :)

I'm sorry you feel this way, but please give this community another chance. While I do not know specifically who your referrer is, there are members here from all walks of life, and languages and some are still struggling to grasp the English language, so sometimes their comments may come across as rude, when that may not have been the intention.

In all my 9+ years here at WA, I have rarely run into the condescending members, and when I do, I just ignore them and go on my merry way. Their attitude is their problem and is in no way a reflection on you as a person.

I spent most of my life in IT support, and marketing as well as building a website has not necessarily come easy to me. Add in Chemo Brain from Breast Cancer treatment, and some days have been downright frustrating. All I can say is work through the training at your personal pace, and never be afraid to ask questions, and don't let someone make you feel like your question is stupid, because we have all been there at least once.

Don't give up, you have a lot more members in your corner that are willing to help you out than you realize.

Thanks. I do appreciate this. I really do hope one day I can look back on this blog and "update" it so that people can have a success story out of me. Instead of what it is now.

It's within you! Don't let the naysayers win!

If you paid for your purchase by Credit Card, get in touch with the Credit Card company and see can you get your money back that way. Use the search term "how to get a credit card payment reversed" on your favourite search engine (it might be Google) to see how this may be done.

They already tried contacting me (left a voicemail) concerned tha this might be a fraudulent charge, I really am hoping we can work something out HERE before contacting my card company. Thank you though.

Wow.....

I have something to change on my website now...

What comes naturally to me may not to others. I didn’t think of that!

I’m sure I’m not your your referer and I am sorry. I personally look for the questions and try to help as best I can, no matter if it’s my refferals or not.

I’m sorry you have felt this way, but it does give incredibly great insights.

On my website I say, “ it’s not rocket science”, and I am truly sorry for that.

I mean not disrespect, it just comes naturally for me I guess. I shouldn’t assume that for others.

Thanks for the rant!
Timm

That was my point, can you do actual rocket science? I can. I have a great understanding of how physics works, yet I'm struggling here. When reading it in a blog post, it doesn't sound the same as when someone is directly telling YOU it isn't rocket science.

Don't change your blog, it's just when interacting with people one on one, it's a different thing. It becomes individualized, it's no longer generalized. I don't know if how I'm explaining it made sense. There is nothing wrong with putting it out there that way, but one on one is a different animal (for most humans).

People are saying to "leave quietly," that's just not how I'm going o leave if I decide to. If I end up staying here and becoming successful, this "rant" blog will be a huge tool to help others who are feeling EXACTLY as I do. I have four people in my inbox who feel EXACTLY as I do....so, I know I'm not alone. I hope it does work out and this "rant" blog can be something I can share with others who are feeling how I feel.

Christina,

You are not alone as far as learning is concerned. I have a college degree; yet I can't make my links work, and I have had four people try to explain the process to me. That doesn't make me a rocket scientist, either.

Timm, Thank you for the like.
I think how a member uses words to convey something is the real issue. In this case it appears that she is being singled out for bullying. This is the nature of the person to whom she referred.

I have avoided such issues by saying: sorry I misunderstood you. That usually diffuses a bad situation.

I think it was nice of you to try to take responsibility for being the bad guy. In doing so, you apologized to the whole community. I believe that it takes a real "man" to do that.

Chuck

I simply didn’t realize and forget at times we are talking to real people.

I literally said the exact same thing on my website (It’s not rocket science)

I know she wasn’t talking to me, but I am glad I seen this. As it puts into perspective how a future refferal would take it.
I just want to simply help others the best I can!

Maybe you should proof read everything you write just to make sure that you don't slip up. It helps in other ways, too. I do it all the time because my head goes faster than I can type. I've caught two mistakes already that I made: a left out word and a misspelling.

I see you helping others, Timm. If someone is offended by another member, just thank them for pointing it out. That should make the offended person feel better. That's what I do because I want peace and harmony for all members; not just for myself.

BTW, thanks for the like.

After reading your comment again, I must say that you did the right thing by telling her "thanks for the rant", which evoked a positive response from her.

HI Christina,
I am very sorry you didn't have a friendly sponsor. That is a shame. Most members here are very friendly. I hope you can get something out of this still. I have connected with some people here who are very good friends now. You just have to ignore those that are negative the best you can. There will be those people anywhere I guess!

There is a world of opportunity here and I hope the bad apples don't spoil it for you.

Jessica

Hi Christina,
I'm so sorry to hear that you have been treated this way.

We are all here to help - this is one of the many reasons why I love being here - the help and encouragement.

I didn't expect to see anything like this.

If I can be of any assistance to you, please let me know.

Continue to ask questions. They'll be those that will get frustrated if you ask them what may seem like a 'simple question'. However, to you as a newbie, it is valid.

At times we often think people are at the same level as us or we forget that what may seem simple is actually a stumbling block for others.

I too can get frustrated at work when I'm assisting someone at as a applications support worker.

I get questions like 'How do I get to Windows Explorer'.

Now when they are using a computer day in, day out it seems such a ridiculous question to ask. However, to them it isn't so I need to help them as best I can.

I find when I do this it helps not only them but me in being able to deal with people at all levels which is a great skill to have. So it is a loss to that person.

Wishing you the best. Please do continue to build your business. You've come a long way. Don't let this stop you. You're stronger than that!

I seriously just want for SteveMand and NewLaurie to stop harassing me and they are getting a kick out of it. It's horrible. I can't believe these are the "leaders" of this place, the ones whoa are supposed to inspire hope and show you that you can make money. Instead hey are just harassing me and REFUSE to leave me alone.
I want to give this a chance, but I cannot get either of those two to stop being so nasty to me and leave me alone. I'm so glad I saved the screenshots before deleting them, because I need people to know the truth about how I'm treated here. The good AND ESPECIALLY the bad.

Hi Christina,
Hopefully they will see your post and will offer their sincere apology.

Let me know if you need any assistance.

We're all here to help each other.

Oh no, they've seen it and continued to be rude and condescending. Even after practically BEGGING them to please stop bothering me.

You can always send a message to Kyle and Carson and ask them to intervene. It is worth a shot at least. You should not have to feel harassed here.

Definitely DO contact Carson and Kyle about it. If they are making you feel inferior and harassed in any way it needs to stop!

Christina

I had a little "dust up" with Steve Mand, but he isn't all that bad. If you go into Live Chat and happen to see him, just say "hi", Steve. That should calm him down.

I already reached out to Carson and Kyle, but thank you. I just don't see the point of mistreating strangers, for any reason.

I agree with Scott below, and sorry to hear that you referrer isn’t helpful. Have you tried contacting Kyle, perhaps there’s a way to switch them? (I’ve never heard of that but I guess it’s worth the try?).

As for rudeness, I must say in my 3+ years here, I encountered rude people VERY rarely, 1 was recent in the live chat, when the guy for some reason hated on “Ambassadors” and I happened to be top 25 at that time (ranks don’t matter much here, but to him it was a big deal that he wasn’t in the top 25 while “helping” others).

Anyway, here’s what I’ll share:

1) sometimes people really rude but it’s a very small percentage of people, if they spam, are rude and stuff, they can be reported.

2) sometimes people just don’t express things the “right” way. Personally, I’m very careful choosing my words, very tactful, to make sure I don’t hurt anyone’s feelings, but some people are just straight forwards (and sometimes a little too much).

Ex: My sister is one of them and always tells me she’s not going to sugarcoat it just because I’m more sensitive than her haha. Unless I take her words too personally, I might see it as an offence while for her (or other straightforward people) it was just saying things on their mind without choosing words. Not sure if that was your case but it’s good to keep in mind :)

3) in terms of WA: the yearly membership certainly is a good deal and gives you pretty much 6 months free. It also is good if you want to stick with it (try to sleep on it and decide to look at its bright side).

But...

It’s very important to finish the training. I’ve been guilty of it myself. I was a member for 2 years until I started to see my website as BUSINESS and started implementing knowledge into action.

In 2017 I was kind of forced to work on my site due to accident/orthopaedic surgery and dylan’s Posts @dylanrieger helped me start a new website from scratch using the “best of” strategy. I’m octoebr 2018 my site turned 1 old and made 4 figures with less than 50 posts.

I did share some main milestones here with WA members. Here’s the latest post with my site finally making $1500+.
(This month it’s a lot less but point is that it took me 1 year to make that kind of money in a rather competitive niche).

Truth is, it would’ve not been possible if I didn’t finish the whole main WA training, asked questions in the community and used the “best of” strategy with quality content.

My best advice for you is to take advantage of the annual subscription since you already got it, start/finish the training with clear head and by all means take action! You can do it girl!

Also, when you feel stuck on your journey, do ask questions. The community is actually quite helpful and most will be happy to help. Yes, Your referrer might be not the most helpful one, but overall the community is awesome. Just try to see past your frustration that you currently experience.

Of course, No one will do the work for others but I or any other member can certainly guide them in the right direction.👌

I truly want you to see the good, positive, helpful side of wealthy affiliate :)

Stay strong Christina, you can do it!

P.S. apologies if my thoughts don’t flow, I’m on the phone right now. Thought I’d respond right away before I forgot.

thank you. it made sense.

Don't let others spoil your dream. I began this program in 2008. I got a great deal at the time and wouldn't let go of it. Meanwhile, I was chasing other programs that cost me thousands of dollars.

I never put in the time and effort here because I never took the time to learn what WA was really all about. The idea of looking ignorant to a group of strangers appalled me. In person I'm very outgoing, but I was like a clam when I logged on here because I was too afraid to ask questions.

I am putting more effort into the program now. I have just two posts, but I get no ill will from any members. Phil, ( Merlynmac), is very helpful. He's the one just below me. You should read the comments other people make.

Just recently he started helping me with an issue I have and can't seem to fix. Look for people who help others the most and are not critical about questions other members ask.

I have received nothing but excellent help from other members.

Stay with the program. Report anyone who you feel is abusing you. We don't stand for that at WA.

I just gave you a follow to help you out.

Chuck

Hey Chuck, merlynmac’s name is Scott, isn’t it?

And I remember how I almost got scammed by Digital alritude who was said to be scam officially by the FTC in 2018. Luckily, I just stuck with WA!

I've seen others call him Phil, so that's what I call him. He hasn't corrected me. Maybe I should just ask him.

Chuck

If you move your cursor to his profile image (without clicking on it), you'll see a small box "Leave Scott a message", that's how you know one's name if the username isn't obvious.

Thanks Zarina. I was wondering how others knew real names of members. Now I know.

Hi Christina
I have never had anything other than an Automated message from my referrer but I decided when I joined to go through each lesson of the training both in the OEC and Bootcamp and also I became heavily involved within the community and also spend time searching for my answers here in this amazing platform where everything we need is on tap for a ridiculously cheap monthly fee.
Now 5 month later I am successful online and here in WA
This platform has it all and Carson and Kyle just keep making it better
2019 is going to be even more exciting so why not stay and complete the training and you too will find success.
All you need to do is stay focused, make a plan and work hard consistently on your business growth and voila Success
Vicki

I'm sorry your sponsor isn't supporting you as you'd like. Don't let that leave a bad taste in your mouth for all of WA. The community here is, for the most part, great and willing to help out in all kinds of areas.

Reach out in live chat. Ask questions. Yes, there will be people here that are "less than polite" but that's a small percentage of the community and not representative of the community as a whole.

Don't give up, work through it and make it what you want it to be.
