I'm not sure what theme you are using but I will tell you that when I go in to do SEO after the article is posted, After putting in info for the post, a bit further down should be a "set featured photo" setting. Generally I opt for choosing a either one from the post or an entirely different, but related one. Fill in the description and mark it as selected.
This seems to work quite well and always shows up in the search engines with the photo along with the snippet.
I actually did that last night. I always set a featured image, but never put in tht keyword or description. I'm checking it out in a few days to see if it's updated on google.
Thanks, for trying to help, but it wasn't really helpful. I'm not looking to use blogger or create a Google site. Nor necessarily want it to be in Google Images. Just specifically what i posted. Just want thumbnails for posts that show up on Google.
This has nothing to do with "blogger" or a "google site".
Google controls what appears in Google search results. If you want your images in the SERPS then follow what Google says about how you can achieve that and provide descriptive Alt Text.
I did that. It still hasn't worked. Thank you for the tip though. I've been updating all the alt text and have a Google Plus account now
