4 Figures in 1 Year. Finally! (Quick Update)

Hi WA fam,
This is a quick update on my Amazon niche site.
(I posted a detailed income report on my blog.)
Anyway...
On October 29, 2018 my Amazon site that I've been working on turned 1 year old.
I was using the "best of" strategy thanks to Dylan's posts/training (@dylanrieger).
- Traffic: dropped to 200-250 after Google Birthday Update
- Amazon clicks: between 35-75
- # of posts: 48
You might be wondering:
How much I made in the last few months?
May 2018: $172
June 2018: $178
July 2018: $270
August 2018: $325
Sep 2018: $522
Oct 2018: $1585 (Thanks to some real high end sales in my niche.)
Gives you perspective, doesn't it?
It feels SOOOOO good to finally be making 4 figures and it took me "only" a year!
Patience, work and proper knowledge on SEO pay off.
Advice for newbies:
- Follow the training.
- Connect with people, ask questions.
- Do the work and be PATIENT. It's a business and it takes some time to take off.
Dig your way to success!
Note:
I will likely stop posting monthly income reports, unless I hit some new big milestones to motivate fellow WA'ers.
QUESTION:
Let me know if you think whether 1 year is too long/little to be making $1500+?
We all want quick results but I've come to realize that 1 year isn't that long, especially if the first 6 months a new website is in the "Sandbox Period".
And I can only imagine what income I would've made if I had more energy/time to work on my website.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts in the comments and I wish you success on your journey!
- Zarina
P.S.
To clarify:
I've been here at WA for 3 years but my website that brought me 4 figures is 1 y/o. So, when I started my Amazon site I already had the foundation.
Sharing good news is awesome. We celebrate success.
Sharing our failure is also important, as we can save others to step on the many booby traps on this path. My 2 cents.
I'm following you now! (here and on the ranking, at your heels LOL)
Richard
That must be so encouraging.
I appreciate you taking the time to lay it out like you did.
It helps people to understand what to expect in this business. A good strategy, hard work, a good foundation, and a lot of patience.
Rooting for you to hit the 5 figures in 1 month :)
I just started to write best of lists recently, got 2 articles finished so far.
I would love to know what your ratio is of how to articles/best of lists or reviews. Basically how many commercial posts for every how-to article without affiliate links? Thank you so much, you're a great inspiration.
What a great report from you! Thanks for sharing your details.
I don't think 4 figures in 1 year is too long. There doesn't seem to be really a consistent time table.
The timing to 4 figures really depends on your niche, how much time and content you put forth in your website. That's definitely the trend I've noticed here. I've also noticed that MMO niche can take more time and more posts.
Varied timing examples:
It took Jerry 2 months to start seeing sales on his MMO site- but he posted 20 - 23 posts a month consistency and reached 100 posts fairly quick. Also his site was not new. He just started really focusing on site content and traffic. 10 Premium Referrals This Month (MARCH Monthly Update) It took Mike/AffTraining 3 years before he saw sales on his MMO site and posted 4 times a week. How Long It REALLY Takes To Make Money Online It took Grace/LittleMama 19 months to break 4 figures on her MMO site and increased content production month by month until she was publishing daily. Mar'18 Results: Broke 4 Digits! Question for you? Your amazon niche site is doing great! How is your MMO site doing for you? Just curious. I've shifted to MMO site and realize more and more everyday that the competitive stakes are much higher and it will be like 3X more effort, content etc to possibly even compete.
I'm inspired, thanks again for sharing your insights and update!

I must admit, when I first joined I did want to earn quickly.
Once I got started with the training, made my way around the platform and interacted with some awesome members, I realized that I needed to focus on my website and leave the money making up to it.
For a new website? I think making 4 figures in a year is awesome and sooner than expected.
You have done a great job. Now, just think, if you had more time and worked on your site even more, you could be doing even better than you are.
Wishing you continued success my friend : )

Keep it rocking high.
Thanks for sharing this update. It's definitely motivating.
:)Joe

Congratulations to you and have a great day.

Best wishes to the future,

I would love to know what your ratio is in regards best of/review posts and how to articles. Basically how many commercial articles for every information article without any affiliate links?
I wish you even more success, you deserve every cent and then some. Wish you all the best :)
Great work, all the best Shane.
I have 116 posts on my website and December 2018 will mark my 1 year mark. I only started making money in October; I made $47.
But it's okay. I know I'm in a very competitive niche and thus, I know it will take longer to get off the ground.
Congrats and I'm happy that your niche is working out for you and being able to make so much money with only 48 posts?!?!?! That's amazing! It really shows the potential of affiliate marketing.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the inspiration!!
Bob
Thank you so much and I hope you make it a great day!
Big Kudos to those who share their recipe to their success, and hope someone picks it up and runs with it just like you have here!
Well done.
Sharon
That's good you're using this site as your case study for your bootcamp site, it's perfect. But build it into your landing page/WA review, not just as a separate post, where all your visitors need to go to.
This is great inspiration and a boost for me and many others. I just can’t wait to be writing about my similar success at my 1 year anniversary.
All the very best for the next 12 months.
Regards Rob
You're making good time Zarina, hopefully, you'll be making 5 or even 6 figures within the next year. "YOU GO GIRL"
So, after read this, really motivate me to keep doing.
Just a few question, do you sell amazon products that less than $20?
I'm planning to do Arduino/electronics blog that cost around $1-5 per components.
So, a project might cost around $20-50. And I know that average commission from Amazon like 4%.
After doing some calculation, it is not really profitable.
So, should I just stick with this niche?
