If I were you I'd put my website in my pins as a watermark probably in the top left like I do my videos. I'm not even sure if it's allowed on Pinterest because I dont use it at all.
This is just a technique I use in my YouTube videos.

I know this is late but it may help someone searching for the same thing! I use a site called Simple Pin Media, they are the gurus of pinterest marketing. You can find anything and everything you ever wanted to know there :)

That depends a bit on your niche.
If it is a very controversial topic, you might receive more "hate" than with other topics.
You can always use a pen name, so nobody actually knows who the owner of that website is.
But if you do this, you have to be consistent with it and don't display your real name anywhere else when it is related to your website.
Most important is that you don't do anything sketchy that people can use against you.
Be genuine and honest.
Haters gonna hate, but if you keep calm and don't feed them, most of your visitors will be on your side.
There's plenty of support here to help you with anything you need.
There are plugins that can help with spam and things like security protection.
All Wealthy Affiliate sites are secure with https as well.
Make sure you back up your website and contact support. Kyle and Carson are here for their members for whatever your needs are.

My rank was in the 28 hundreds. Then it hopped to 500 (it was the same day I got an email saying one of the sites I had deleted became indexed even I thought it had been month

You are still in the top 500 as far as I'm concerned!
Like everyone else here, I suggest that you disregard the WA ranking (unless that ranking is why you are here) and just concentrate on your site.
I was in the top 200 for awhile, but have not dropped to around 1,000 since I've stopped concentrating on the WA community (sorry guys) and have spent more time on my site content.
Stick to your purpose and have fun while developing your site.

Don't worry much about your ranking, it really changes much depending on your activity here. It happened to me several times too so yeah, this is normal.

Your rank here at WA has nothing to do with your website my Friend.
Also recently WA released a new algorithm that rewards members who have been here longer with higher rankings per activity compared to newer members who are the sam activeness.
You did nothing wrong Kristin and many have asked the same question my Friend.

I suppose if the algorithm was changed about two weeks ago. I understand the WA ranking and search engine ranking are not tied together but I thought they at least told a similar story - like If you put in the work to get a high ranking on one, it would somewhat reflect on the other. I still think it's a little bizarre that i went from 2800 to 500 to 495 to 7839 now...maybe people got really competitive once the new year started!

I'm feeling more and more pulled away from the original purpose of my website as I continue to work the program. I would like to start changing things like the niche and title

totally understand what you mean why don't you start a new business and build yourself a new website with the free domain and see how it goes if it pays of you can still buy the domain hope that helps wishing you the best

I just wanted to let you know I went ahead an bought a new domain and started over. It wasn't a big deal because my first site was pretty new. I moved my old posts into my new site which is basically an updated version of the old one and my current and future posts will be more relevant. I'm in the beginning stages of this so I don't have any followers or fans that would be disappointed if I shifted my focus a bit! It seems to be working out. Thanks a lot!
Have you already bought a domain? If you still have not, and your website is a Siterubix site, for example: kbiddle.siterubix.com, then you could create a new siterubix site with the new purpose you have in mind.

You can always create a second site and start working it and building there. Nothing wrong with that. Remember, this is a long term journey and process, so don't feel rushed. Building things right pays off in the end :)
