1. Introduction

There are conditions, it's your own responsibility to read the conditions well.

I have checked up all the websites which are displayed on the next pages. If you feel I have a website wrongly judged and has to be placed into another category, I would appreciate a message.

  1. Introduction
  2. Completely free photo sites
  3. Free images websites with a question mark
  4. Free images send by email
  5. Licence Stock photos, attribution and/or back link needed
  6. Collections of free links
  7. Online photo editors
  8. Text and signature creators
  9. Info-graphics
  10. Favicon, Gravitar & more...

When you have other resources which are not yet named in this enumeration, I would appreciate your input, and I will add them to this list.

Added:

Free is good isn't it?

I have a number of free tools which can produce these things on my PC. I just don't know how to use them properly.

When I see resources like this I can add to the tools available.

Now all I have to do is practice this stuff. It is happening for me, but slowly.

Thank you for sharing this info on the cautions of website image infringements. I'm new here and building a store front site. It's a kitchen necessity site. I was wondering where to get the images I will be promoting. I'm going to read this and hopefully it well answer some of my questions. I'll also check out the other two links you have added.

Hi Richard, once you are affiliated with a company, they often approve to use their images, you need to look into their terms of services, and if you do not find it there, you can ask them by email.

I love you Loes. not going to stay up here much longer in any event. There are terrific e-book and site development options lining up.
In 3 weeks I'll be an ambassador for a year and am closing in on 1,000 posts with 4,000 followers. That's when I will let go and only post occasionally.
At ten pages with great visual content this is honestly the best training I've ever seen. Saving it in two places!

It's worth bearing in mind that Creative Commons sites like Flickr also make no checks on who uploads images. For example https://www.flickr.com/photos/53558245@N02/ has labelled all those images free to use with attribution but Daily Sunny who uploaded them isn't the copyright holder, she has just uploaded a collection of pictures she likes and labelled them free to use, which she isn't legally entitled to do.
Reply
Loes Premium
I know, Flickr is listed in the category Licence Stock Photos
attribution or back link needed
Reply
@RICH. Premium
Yes, and what I'm saying is that if you "steal" something, you can't make it OK by sticking a label on it "property of..." especially when you're misattributing it to the wrong person, or in this case a nickname, "Daily Sunny".

Current Fair Use image copyright laws say that you’re financially liable for posting copyrighted images, even if:

1. You did it by accident.
2. You immediately take down the picture after receiving a DMCA takedown notice.
3. The picture is resized.
4. If the picture is licensed to your web developer (Getty Images requires that you get your own license, thankyouverymuch).
5. You link back to the photo source and cite the photographer’s name.
6. Your site isn’t commercial and you make no money from your blog.
7. You have a disclaimer on the site.
8. The pic is embedded instead of saved on your server.
9. You found it on the Internet (that’s not an excuse!).
