Hi everyone, I would like to know when is a good time to starting sharing content from a brand new site. So far, on my website, I have published one post. (I have three more, bu

I would share each Page/Post. I, personally, don't share on Facebook with family and friends but I do use other social sites. SHARE THEM ALL!

Yes. I heard that Pinterest is hot right now. That is probably the route I will take. Thanks for your insight :)

When you install SUPER SOCIALIZER, there are many social sites included. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, The Vine, Instagram, etc. This is what the icons look like...

Thank you. I'll look into that :)
I'm using Simple Share Buttons right now.

Looks like some great suggestions here for you. :))

Yep. The community is awesome :)

Make sure you share your site with us so we can leave you some feedback and post some great comments!

Definitely will do :)

In general
A blog is usually defined as something that has about 350 words in it. An article can run up to 5000.
A post is roughly something in-between these two extremes.
Over 5000 words can get to be too much for a reader who wants to get their information, and move on. Keep things as short as possible and on topic. Drifting topics can confuse your reader and hurt your SEO.
To answer your question - I've seen people who were successful with as few as 10 and also wait until they had over 100. So, I would say it would depend on your niche, your personal style, and level of comfort.

Thanks. I appreciate your insight. Personally, I think I'll wait until I get around 25-30 posts before I start sharing based on Manny's suggestion.

During the training it will indicate in a specific lesson when to begin sharing your posts and pages to your social media websites. Basically, you want to share your content to encourage people to come visit your site.

Ideally, you would want to have enough content to keep people looking at your site rather than reading one post and leaving right away. The choice is yours regardless so try to give people a variety of posts to read when they come to your site. I would advice you to continue your training and it will walk you through all the phases.

Best of luck to you my friend and if you have any other questions let me know.
Manny

Thanks Manny, I appreciate it.

I was definitely planning on waiting a while until the site was more developed.

Not a problem my friend. Like I said, the training helps a ton, so stick with the training and you will see the results.

For example, if you had 200 monthly searches, low competition and you are on page 1 of Google. Could you guesstimate how many pageviews you would get based on your monthly searc

jaaxy will provide you with that number, beside the monthly searches figure will be the estimated traffic

Thanks. However, I believe that pageviews and estimated traffic are not interchangeable.

you can go to google analytics for more detailed stats

For example, let's say I wanted to write a post on baking a pie. I would title it "How to bake a pie". Now I figured that most people would simply type in the keyword "bake pie"

in my opinion - "how to bake a pie" is really not that long of a keyword. That's what I would search in google if it were me. "bake pie" doesn't really make sense.

"how to bake a pie in 10 short really simple easy steps" would be a long tail keyword =).

Having quality content will be the key to getting your site ranked. Time is always the X factor...hard to say when it will happen

Thank you. I'll look more into the long tail keywords :)

... use exact match with your long tail keyword - it will give laser sharp relevant results - these are the people that are looking for you!

Yes, that is exactly what I was going to do. Thanks :)

I would like to create a site focused on HTML5 training. I was thinking of naming the site something like HTML5 Walkthrough. Does this make sense?

I think you should try for something besides "walkthrough"....something that people might search for when looking for help with HTML5...help, basics, tutorial etc.

Yes, it makes total sense-people will understand walk through as instructional. I did.

Thank you Patrick, I appreciate your feedback :)

I would definitely love to see the end project of this, this is something I would love to learn.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I would be quite some time because there is so much information to cover in HTML5/CSS3. Not even including [removed])

Yeah, I understand, I still have like 60+ years to live, so I can use some of that waiting ;)

Yes it's great for the techies .. The average person may not go for it :)

Thanks. The techies would be the niche audience that I would target.

Only it that is all you plan on putting on the site.

Yes. Technically, it would be HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript but they are all related topics.

I think code walkthrough might fit better.
Just saying do not limit yourself.

Thanks. I was thinking something like that in the first place but I wasn't sure if that was good for a niche.

True, I believe if you give value the niche will prosper and grow.
Give it some good thought before commiting to the domain.

For example, I want to write about web development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, etc. However, I'm also interested in programming technologies like Java, SQL,

I'd start out focusing on one or the other. If you have more experience in one area, go with that! You can always branch out later, but it might be best to begin smaller.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Each of these technologies can be an entire site in itself (sorry got interrupted in main thought by a client).

So I should just focus on one of the technologies correct?

I would focus on one at a time. If you want to expand once you have exhausted all the resources for that one, then you can expand the site or branch out into a similar site and develop a brand that ties them all together.

Thanks, Labman. I'll definitely do that :)
