Does anyone know the reason why we are unable to Edit our Private Messages in the same way as editing normal messages across the board of WA?
Since blog posts, questions, and responses are posted publicly and remain visible to the entire community, the edit function allows correcting errors or clarifying points for future readers.
Since a PM is a one-time person-to-person message which noone else sees, any corrections or clarifications need to be done with a followup PM.
Think of when you send a letter by mail. Once it's sent you can't edit the letter. It's already left the building. Private message is mail the is delivered instantly

Am only guessing but I believe it's because the private messages go from one account to another, where comments and blogs are on a web page. Much like Facebook.

It is like an email, when you've send it, you can not edit it anymore
