I want to find a new member's profile and I only know his name.
Haven't read all the replies and comments to your question, but this is my recommendation:
If you use the @ sign in front of the persons USERNAME it will come up immediately.
Let me know if you need any further help.
And - if typing his name in the search bar doesn't work, pull up Kyle's profile and take a look at the people he follows bc he follows everybody. Depending on when the new person joined, he should be fairly close to the top of Kyle's list.
Do you mean you know his real name or his profile name?
If it's the profile name, you can just type it in the search bar at the top.
Suggestions will come up and this should lead you to that member.

Hi Harold I am going to put a post on my page to add a profile pic. It includes all we have discussed. It is the only way I can upload an actual picture for you to see what I am talking about. I hope it works for you.
Problem solved with a tutorial by Russ Stewart. I was adding two tags at once instead of adding a tag, clicking the add tag button and then adding the 2nd and clicking it again. Thanks to all who offered help. It's always such a simple thing?

Your question prompted me to try to emulate your problem so I clicked on the pen icon (between the PM envelope and Blue Rank) on the top right.
I discovered a blog which I had saved as a Draft but hadn't got around to publishing so I tidied it up, clicked on Publish (bottom right) and published the blog.
It worked. So unless you are doing something different to the steps above I don't know what to suggest. ~Marion
Thank you Marion. That is exactly what I have tried over and over. Have shut down and rebooted, etc. with no luck. Were you able to publish without tags or did you add them? I have tried it both ways.

It seems to be the simple, most obvious things that cause us so many problems. I'm glad you got it sorted out as it had me completely baffled.
on your post page, top right is a options button, click on it & options drop down. Check the boxes you want. If you don't you can't publish.

When you update the theme, you have to update all your plugins as well. Otherwise, they don't work.

I may not have been clear with my problem. It is the blogs on my profile that I cannot get to publish. I updated my plug ins again but no change. They save into draft without a problem but when I click publish nothing happens. Thank you again.

When you publish a page, did you put it into the menu. You have to click Appearance - Menu , and include it into the menu.
I know you work very hard at keeping on top of every detail so thought you might like to know the solution to my goof. There is a tutorial by Russ Stewart I found that is very clear. I was adding two tags at once. You must add a tag, click the blue add a tag then add a 2nd and click add tag again. then Whoof! It publishes. Thank you so much for your help. I have been amazed at the number of people you respond to.

Try refreshing the page and then try to publish again. Sometimes when I go to edit my posts, the text doesn't always display for some reason, but once I've tried refreshing the page once or twice, the text then appears lol.
Maybe this will work for your situation.
I shut down and rebooted a couple of times with no help. I don't wee a way to refresh the post when I am writing on my profile blog. F5 offers to reload the page. Thanks

You say blog so I'm guessing it is a post you have written? Did it save as a draft then if it wouldn't publish? If it did, then try closing everything down then open back up and try to publish.
If it's not saving as a draft, then copy the page (you can click anywhere on the page and hold ctrl+A, then ctrl+C) and paste into a word document (ctrl+V). Then close everything down and open back up.
Paste into create new post in the content section, type in your title again. Click publish and see if it works then.
It is saving as a draft. I tried each suggestion with no luck. I appreciate your help. If you have any other thoughts please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry. I'm pretty new when it comes to wordpress myself lol. The last time I had an issue with one of my posts, I ended up copying and pasting into word; then deleting the draft in wordpress and then creating a new post and pasting my content into it. That fixed it for me. Hopefully someone will see your question and take a look.
If you go to your Posts -> All Posts page of you website, mouse over the title of the post you are trying to publish and click the Edit that comes up.
Once the post it open in the editor, on the right hand side of the page is a box labeled "Publish". At the bottom of that box is a button called "Publish". Click on it. That should publish your post.
