I'm having trouble asking questions in the forums. It disappears after I leave the page then come back to it. It's not there to see. Is this normal?
Yes, I've seen this happen before when I have answered a question. If you give it a minute and refresh the page, it is usually there. Kind of strange, but it does happen. :)

Another way of keeping track of your questions is to click on your profile photograph and at the top it says your questions
You can see all of your questions that you have asked directly from your profile as Catherine had said. Here is the direct link Gary:

You can also see the questions others have asked within their profile as well.
Thank you. I was posting in the discussion boards about feedback on my site. It was Course 2, Lesson 6. I left the page and when I came back it was gone.

How do I keep fake emails from registering on my site?
You might need to run some test after installing your pluggin.
I had installed one that worked so well than even legitimate users could not register anymore and were flagged as spammers
Thank you. I may have done the same thing. Not sure. Do you mind going to my site, http:live4collegehoops.com and try to sign up as a user and let me know what happens and what you think. I would really appreciate it.
Thank you very much. I was getting a lot of spam and emails that didn't exist. Found out my plugins were inactive. I appreciate the feedback.
If you go to the plugin that you have which allows for a membership on your site, you can block fake email if you go to it's general settings.
Honestly, I'm so new to this I'm not sure. I did just notice that the plug-ins weren't activated so I activated Askimet, All In One SEO Pack, Exclude Pages from Navigation, and SI CAPTCHA anti-spam.

Is basketball fanatics too broad of a niche? This would include all things basketball merchandise, videos, books, etc
If this is your passion, go for it. I would treat it like a fanatics site though and I would not try to cover too much material initially and I would only cover one league (ie. NBA, College, etc).
You can definitely promote many things to this audience once you have an audience.
If you want to cover all of that, then go for it. I know my brother is a sports fanatic. He can rattle off stats like no one I've ever seen. It's hard for a fanatic to get overwhelmed with information since they constantly absorb it. If you don't feel like it's too much work, then like I said, go for it.
My website is about chocolate gifts, and I don't feel like that's too broad of a niche. It's my excuse to continuously buy and sample everything chocolate lol.

is it best to have one affiliate program or several to promote on my site?
It's best to stick with a few. Too many and Google will penalize you and too few and you are cheating yourself out of revenue. My rule is no more than 3 to a page. I have a link in my WA blog that links to Google's guidelines. Hope that helps ... GrampaMike
I would suggest that you have no more than you are honestly interested in following and staying up to date with on good content. Otherwise you will have visitors to your site not getting what they need or want in terms of up to date info.
Harold
I would honestly say there is no limit to the number of affiliate programs on your site. Rather than base it on a number, base it on what makes the most sense to your visitors/content.
I promote things that are relevant and that will help people, sometimes a site may at some point promote 100 things...whereas some may solely focus on promoting one thing...either way that is completely fine. Don't base it on a number, base it on your approach to the content, your recommendations, and what your audience needs.
Kyle, I can't envision how you could promote 100 things on one site. All my mind's eye can see is a screen shot full of ads, pages and pages of them. I know I must be missing something. Is it possible to explain this a little further?
Hi. Most people have 2-3 affiliate programs on their website. You don't want too many as it becomes a chore in keeping track of them, but you probably want at least a couple. :)

For every niche, do you need to have a different website for every single niche that you start?
Thank you guys for all the helpful comments. I asked this question more for the future. I just wasn't sure how it all worked. I am having a little trouble deciding what to do with the niche I chose.
Yes you do and this is why it is so important that you choose a niche that you are interested in otherwise you will do what I did and start a website only to lose interest and start another, which is completely counter productive! Your first website should be the one you have a passion for so you will enjoy working on it! Good luck.
Hi in my limited capacity to answer questions like this I can definitely say that yes you do need a website per niche. Start with one doesn't really matter as you can change direction in the future. Hope that helps and good luck.
And one thing that you should know is that you should focus on just ONE website and create success with that before diversifying and creating multiple niche websites. Many people try to be involved within many niches at once when starting out and this only leads to problems, confusion and a sensation of being overwhelmed.
It only takes ONE website in one niche to be very successful online. I usually find that folks that try to do too much at once (focus on several niche websites) end up in a state of mediocrity because it can be overwhelming and you don't really ever become the expert in just one niche.
It is the experts (specialists) that create long term, successful businesses in any niche. This goes within the online world and the offline world, like Eric said the last thing you want to try to do is become the Walmart of the online world. Great at nothing.
Being overwhelmed only lead to lazyness, discouragement. and procrastination. Good point Kyle!
There's so much to do with our niche. The more we dig into the more there is to do!
God bless you!
Yeah, that the basis of it all. One site, one niche. Better be expert at something than being merely good at too much stuff! It sells better too unless you want to compete with Walmart, Cosco, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. Which might not be a good idea, at least not on day one!
Have a great day and God bless you!
