Uncertainties within Wealthy Affiliate !!

TOUGH QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ASKED and I would appreciate the participation of Kyle and Carson and those in the top 300 and anyone else who can add input as rank isn't an indicator necessarily.

I'm asking them here and hope for your participation in a constructive way. My experience tells me this is a far cry, but let’s not put the cart before the horse. Let’s assume the best.

Let's SEE HOW MANY SHOOT THE MESSENGER!

I urge you to rather assist , provide great content so these obvious questions that must come up for most can be answered or not and this can become a blog to alleviate pressing issues or questions needed answering.

I'm new here, almost 6 weeks and have decided to pursue this business hoping to make it a full income situation. I'm trying to get there ASAP.

That said I've still got a lot of work to do on my website AND I'm halfway through my training. I have new menus up so my page links embedded in the text have to be fixed today, and my further menus need content. Lots. I'm trying hard. I'm happy to be here.

My background is to analyse businesses and although I'm new, I'm picking up many aspects that pretty much go unanswered.

Like what is someone earning? I don't need details. I'm looking for indicators without names even. I only get generalisations and don't get me wrong, I realise people are sensitive to certain questions.

But hey, in any company these figures are there for all to know. Its measurable data that makes someone feel safer, makes for reachable tangible goal setting, makes for a perceived future reality, a possibility.

So not knowing or having any indication doesn't help me understand why so few here are members, longer than a 12 month period.

Why so many ranked in the top 300 are within the 12 month group.

Nothing in the ranking system tells that story of Income, nor is it designed to, as Income is not criteria that can be measured here, as its private. I get that.

Any Questions I've asked tactfully and discreetly to anyone, was answered without figures or even approximate details to form any idea.

For example if someone is earning well over 10k pm, a mere I'm really doing well, or I'm happy so far earning way over 8k or 6k or 20k per month or whatever.

Yet from the many appear to be successful possibles here at WA, judged on their expertise in this field and/or years of experience etc. , I don't get any indication.

You see to me this is supposed to develop quickly into a full time situation. I'm committed to it, but questions keep coming up from my past business experiences, and they keep flashing every day.

I see among the top 300 or so very few that have been members longer than a year. It’s telling me a few stories, however the ratio of the perceived success ration, ito IM outside is seen as 2%. Is that the case here at WA too? I wasn't under that impression if one does the training and the work.

Do the figures of membership turnover here at WA mean, that the low success statistic of 2% applies here too ?.

Although rank is no Income performance indicator, it does show membership length, and is a good segment within this community to extrapolate this info from.

So the question screams out, is WA a school where over 200.000 have come through over say a span of 8 years or longer and a very small fraction are still members.

Why if anyone is successful would a mere $47 a month membership make them resign, where a big number of reasons to stay beckons.

Again please don't misinterpret my questions.

Where did the other say 98% go. I'm not critical of WA in fact think in my limited understanding of this new type business it’s the best I've seen, friendly, helpful and the training appears top notch.

The problem is the number of those people who believe like I do, but most become statistics of the "failed portion" of those who try IM, which is the 98% mentioned in training.

I did a business analysis in an excel spreadsheet to look at numbers.

It’s simply designed to take into account one's income goal, the price category of one's products that are up for sale, commission percentages and projected % of income growth etc. in categories.

The conversion one needs to do to reach say 3 to 5000 dollars pm is scary so getting a few conversion in a day or week is very far from making it a full time job. My limited view at present.

My gut is saying that we don't have the full picture and that success to get a full time income if one applies this as a full time occupation is the rare rule. It’s just a perception that's starting to rear its head within me right now.

That said I'm new, but any business will indicate certain numbers which tell a story.

I'm not seeing or have I heard anyone talk about successful numbers other than the figures produced in the well-known picture promo of the woman with the kid that's doing so well working from home.

Incidentally I saw it’s a type of standard template that other affiliate type businesses use too.

Must say I felt a bit scammed when I found out it wasn't a real scenario. Stupidly even tried to connect to that person here on WA. What an ass I felt.

This add is a supposed editor, writing about someone she met who has a success story to tell. I'm sure you know the add.

Is it a scam add ? Is the info real and provable? It bothered me as I never saw the fine print at the bottom that says it’s a fictitious add only, based on unavailable account info, only the word of the blogger, or is this info based on a singular rare success account.

If so the average Joe Soap wont achieve it even if he puts in the hours and follows all the training and work required. Bear with me. I'm trying to find straight answers.

It appears that members making some income, are in this type Niche or second Niche early on, where there is a trickle of new signups, but most leave in a short space of time, frustrated to the teeth.

Are we here recruiting people into a business when we aren't successful at the very product we are trying to promote?

BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL WEBSITE IN OUR OWN NICHE.

That means simply is it making money, so let no-one please hide behind the I'm promoting my Niche and I have many followers and that's all I want. I don't believe anyone joined up for that sole reason.

How does one promote something when you can’t validate "how easy" this is, without doing it oneself.

All these are those uncomfortable questions that people don't like asking. And watch.....

The messenger will be shot by many!!

It always happens when someone says things that upsets the very apple-cart of one’s belief system.

So please. I'm investing a lot of time and was told I could get and will get answers to any question at WA, from the helpful membership here.

However they are critical in understanding the fundamentals of a business proposal to decide the risk and market possibilities involved.

IN CLOSING.

Everything I encounter here at WA ito training appears the best there is.

It’s a well-designed and thorough website to navigate and clearly, much professional work has gone into its design and management thereof. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else from my limited understanding at present.

Being open honest and sharing information within a company makes for healthier conditions and growth all round. Something I find many shy away from because of backlash. Lets not have that. All of us believe in something and Lets build on it constructively.

I'm trying to get answers and was hoping you could help crystallise pressing questions I have.

Please share and again, don't shoot the messenger.

Thanks for reading and please share so we can get a varied input to the questions raised. I'm sure there are many with great feedback.

Kind regards

Eugene

Hello to you, I always see this type of question here, so I will do my best to give you a credible answer

So first let me explain why you maybe barking up the wrong tree

You are here for your own reasons but I am guessing that it is to start a business on line and that's what most people want.

Because this is an online business most people think that success is down to the system they are using, in this case wealthy affiliate training
So I am going to explain it like this- you keep talking about other peoples successes or failure but you do not seem to mention you in any of your blog
So here is the correct answer to your questions

Your success does not depend on the following

Wealthy affiliate
Other peoples success
Other peoples lack of success
The people who own this site
Your website alone - but only what you do on your website

Your success does depend on the following

Your tenacity
Your hard work
Your dedication
Your faith in your self
Your understanding of marketing
Your ability to build relationships with your future customers
Your ability to add value to the readers of your website
Your own vision and drive

Have you noticed a common word here - yes its the word "your"

If you are going to make business decisions based on the success or failure of other people you are doomed to failure, no mater what business you are in

So try the following

Get rid of self doubt, have faith in what your doing and believe in your self because no one can do that for you

Bill gates is the richest man in the world ,do you think he said "does anyone think you can make money with software" - or do you think he just went ahead because he believed in what he was doing

Whether people on here fail or succeed, will have no bearing what so ever, on whether or not you succeed or fail
The biggest mistake people make is not asking questions its asking the wrong questions

Your question = do people succeed on here
Your question should be - can I build a successful online business

I just changed one word and that is the word "I"

Barry

Hi Barry
Thanks for your input. Appreciate.
Let me straighten out a few points here for starters
.
1. I've managed a few businesses and agree totally with the principle of "If things are to be it is up to me" . Read those books followed the courses and got a cigar or two and applied them successfully.
My blog isn't at all about that.
Its not self doubt as in "I'm not good enough" to do this. Its about more than that.
Your quote is apt and the "I" also holds true for someone who's goal is to become president of the USA. Without his knowing their are a few aspects that will make that challenge impossible as those people are chosen long in advance. Maybe a bad analogy.
The reason for my questions are the numbers. They are not agreeing with mere hard work and application of time alone. Of application of the "I" as per your answer.

Is something possible? I hold the belief anything is a possibility. But that said one needs to be prudent in being open minded enough without one's brains falling out.
So positive thinking and good habits don't outweigh the non validity of trying to sell snow to the Eskimos. Please don't misread my understanding here.

My questions around numbers are that I get none. I get similar answers to what you've answered here now. I'm 53 years old and have a wealth of information on-board, so the basics of many things you mentioned are common to me but still don't answer my questions to validate best scenarios.
Most top business owners around the world don't start up new companies on gut only. A detailed market analysis is done.

Looking at information critically makes for narrowing the odds not true.
Lastly those that start and follow a hunch most often get it wrong.

Hope this helps better to understand what I'm trying to gauge as I have bills to pay and need to do forward thinking. Pure positivity doesn't pay those.

Thanks again for participating.

2

I am afraid I do not follow numbers, I follow instincts

Barry

5

Me neither. Barry, you nailed it!

2

Well said Barry.

3

Incidently Barry you say I didn't mention myself in the blog. Did you read my intro? Also a few days ago posted my 1 month update,.

1

All I am trying to say is this
There is no such thing as certainty in any business, it does not exist
Business is not about analysis or even numbers its about emotions and people
Unfortunately online there are a million and one people that will tell you that you are guaranteed to become wealthy online if you buy there systems
If you can find me a business model online or anywhere else that is a guaranteed certainty please let me know

Barry

3

As a business analyst for many years, having drawn up many business plans , I'm gonna have to disagree with " Business is not about analysis or even numbers its about emotions and people " .
You're kidding right ? lol seriously though Im not excluding people and their value, its a core competence, but one of many., .

Marketing is about people not analysis, we are compelled to buy things when people add value to our lives
If you so sure about your business skill then I look forward to seeing your progress on here
No one who will come to your website will care anything about analysis they will only care about what is in it for them

The problem of being an annalist is its dry, and far removed from reality like the people who draw up economic theory's on a white board because someone has paid them to do so, while the economy crashes through the floor
So with your annalist skills build your on line business and I would look forward to seeing your results
You obviously have a lot of skills in business and have been analyzing business for a long time
May I ask you a question then
Why has your skills in business, not lead you to any financial success in business, as you said you have bills to pay
Lastly if you take people out of the equation in business what exactly are you left with

Barry

1

Oh Barry . Your a tough nut to explain context to. But Ill be respecting and try once more.

I by no means am saying I'm sure about any skill I have, merely analysis of core issues I have learnt and wasn't spun from my yarn, got it from the 101 lessons of business analysis which is common in the workplace..
They pertain to any and all business. Sifting through information gets one closer to specifics around a particular business. Make more sense?
Of course no customer is interested in the dribble of data, stats, analogies and the boring methodologies. 101 in sales and marketing. KISS,, client is king, service, adding value, caring etc.

The dribble and boring stuff is done behind the scenes as part of the core functioning of one's business before and during.
The result is what is experienced as a whole by a customer. I really don't want to get into it here further.

All I was trying to understand were some core issues ito this IM business , to better aid me in IM, which I know nothing or little about.
I think core issues ito IM are very different at various stages of one's progress but my views are very limited. Never worked with IM before.

Why are all your posts so judgemental in their nature here Barry? What's really driving that as my context in the blog was carefully written to show I'm not judgemental in any way. That I support WA etc .

That I have concerns important to me and information I have that doesn't add up. Please help me understand, was my message to those who know more.
I highlighted a few times not to shoot the messenger to make people focus on my concerns!.......but to you It looks as if that was a red flag to a bull.
May I not have a perception? You know perceptions are things that can be changed if someone is open to it and invites new information into their present view . That was my plea in the blog. But something in there made you arm yourself and come out blazing.
Consider my words. You are certainly barking up the wrong tree from what I've perceiving from your onslaught here.
Look what other's did here.
They provided context and its helped immensely resulting in many perceptions I had being changed.

Cant you see I'm a newbie expressing concerns I have, expressing a lack of context within the IM field, expressing truthfully here, to find answers from experienced people.
I took up the offer made infinitum by so many here at WA and in so many automated emails offering this assistance for those in need.

my 5c feedback to you ....rather ask yourself why you've reacted so strong at this blog and missed mostly the context of a carefully worded blog. Or am i mistaken and this is merely your daily way of communication. Either way value to take a look.

Valid points, Barry

I just read all the responses here, Eugene. The one thing nobody commented on is the ranking system, which you seem to dwell on. The ranking is social engagement ONLY. It does not rank success, time, ability or anything else. I will be here 3 months in 3 days and I've been number 3 for the past week or so. That's because I answer questions and help people daily. I haven't done anything differently today than I did on the first day I was here except I do more of it simply because I know more. I just try to help. So please don't think that ranking means success or knowledge. It simply means a willingness to help. Read the Ambassador Program section in the left sidebar.

Point No. 2 I'd like to make. Why do you think you're entitled to know how much people are making? I'm an old lady and maybe that's why, but income information has always been private to me. As a matter of fact, in the last two corporate jobs I held, we were cautioned not to discuss salaries. In fact, we were threatened with being written up in one if we did!

The flip side of that is just because I make XXX dollars in my own niche or in promoting WA, that in no way guarantees that you or anybody else will make that same amount. You might even make more! But that's not a guarantee. So why should actual earnings be posted up? Someone in a more difficult niche may not be able to measure up right away and that person may give up.

If your background makes you suspicious about what's going on here at WA, then, by all means, find something else. I wouldn't pay for something I wasn't comfortable with. Have you addressed these concerns directly with Kyle and/or Carson? I think maybe you should copy this "blog" to them in case they miss it. Not sure how they can, but. . .

Not shooting the messenger by any means. You are entitled to your own opinion and you are entitled to seek the information you seem to feel is necessary for you. That's fine. My only objection is airing your grievances to the whole community. You might discourage someone and that's not fair to them. Take it to the ones who developed the program.

Carla

Put your whip away now Ms. CarlaIves

3

I'm not whipping anyone, Terry. Eugene is certainly entitled to his opinion, as we all are, including me. He asks valid questions.

2

Yeah, Carla. Even if someone knows how much anyone here is earning, will not translate into the same for anyone else....and, as you pointed out, every company I worked for told us not to discuss our wages with others.

3

Very Well put Carla!! J

1

I totally agree

2

I don't have opinions Carla. I'm expressing views and concerns of mine that hopefully could change with more information..
Thought they were welcome any-time to be expressed or asked. Did I miss something ?
Maybe read all my answers to all the people here and you will better understand. the blogs intent.

1

I wish people would read better. Lol Well meant. Im just having to repeat myself when my post is explicit.
I'm not harping on the ranking system at all. I know its no measure of success here. I stated that . Please read the blog caredully and myt responses to others and much would be clearer ito what I'm after. Thanks

1

You are free, of course, to express anything you like, Eugene. It just seemed to me that you were looking for specific information that Kyle and Carson could provide to you, more so than the members. I'd be very interested in seeing their replies. And, yes, I will read your replies.

2

Gordi , it certainly doesn't translate to the same. Yet it tells with numerous contributions, successes , time periods achieved etc etc that is working. That in fact people are making money , and it works. Rough incomes successes like for instance if someone is doing 20 k., saying they are doing over 10 k is fine or they are able to be financially independent.
Its a wealth of information. This helps one understand possibilities that are gettable and possibilities that are dreams. It helps one decide this has to be part time as time is an issue to get their or wing it for 6 months. Makes sense

1

Carla I've just completed reading your post.
You have misread so much and read so-much into my post that I'm not sure where to start. I honestly don't know how you can make the statements you do when I tried to be very explicit up front..
So I'm going to suggest instead of being defensive, or challenging , please try and read my blog as well as my answers to many here unemotionally, without drawing conclusions .
Examples. Me being entitled to know peoples income!! Please Really?

1

I will read it again. And then I will drop out of this as you obviously feel I am misinterpreting you. I wish you much success, Eugene!

1

I'm starting to think he's "trolling" us. My daughter warned me about people like this. Hey! Wait a minute... X( That's my job!

1

Thx Carla Appreciate

No Carla. I'm sure you will get my drift clearer if you read into my context. All input is valuable. You're welcome anytime to comment and its appreciated. I wish you tons of success too

hey Terry ...hahahaha trolling ...lol yeah I've even got my tin hat on. lol

Yup, makes sense, Eugene

You've received some excellent comments. Barry hit the nail on the head with the focus being "you." I may need to check, but if memory serves me correctly, Kyle and Carson focus on "you." Not on themselves. If they did, I would be out of here. I get plenty of scam emails telling me what someone did with the software or video course they have for sale. Most sales pitches have to do with "look at what I did." WA is not like that and neither is the WA community. The focus is about "you" and what we as a community can do to help "you" achieve "your" goals.

5

Thx D Again the place to be isn't in Question for me at all. I checked out many places. This is the place to be in my view. As mentioned to others, its about planning strategy with application right now for me..
Answers and details of experience make a big difference in creating context.

If one;s expectation is to find a glass of rare wine in the desert, only to find its water, that's great as its something to quench the thirst along the way. Thx for participating.

1

I'm not here expecting to get rich on WA commissions. That is secondary to me. WA is a great business model that is easy to get referrals but may not be needed forever. That bothers me not.

My blogs are making me money. The more content I add to them the more money I'm making. I've only been in WA a few months but what I've learned is priceless. I have no unanswered questions. I fully understand everything that's going on in WA.

Just an opinion... not shooting the messenger.

Jonathan

3

Wonderful. Thanks Jonathan Your reply are part of the answers I was so desperately wanting to learn. I really appreciate that. Great stuff. A few months and money can flow. its happening to you. You have hind-site, clarity and your'e motivated through personal experience from a member who started in May 2014. I really appreciate it. Regards

1

Hi Eugene, I read already several blogs from people who doubted after the first 3-6 months. Once I set up a regular business, I worked my but off for three years, to pay back the loan I had to take from the bank, then afther those hard working years, the marked collapsed and I gave up, not willing to get another loan, so, what I am trying to say is, you can't expect a booming business by putting in partime hours in a couple of months. I am giving my WA business now for 3 months an avarage 8 hours a day time, and am willing to do so the next three years, and when at that time my business ain't blooming, I definitely quit.

5

thx Loes
Thanks for the comment.
Yes I agree on the part time story that's why I'm putting in the hours full time trying to get to grips with this. Dont even go into loaning money for a business. That's how I got where I am lol
I figured the same as you , but again I'm trying to better understand the rules of this very wide and involved game. You are lucky to be able to do this for 3 years to find your result without depending on an income. Wish you the best on this journey. Regards

2

One more thing.
"Mistakes are the best teachers. One does not learn from success. It is desirable to learn vicariously from other people's failures, but it gets much more firmly seared in when they are your own."

Here at WA you have the benefit of many folks mistakes.

4

If this were true, jonw, I would be the resident genius! But I went from knowing nothing, to knowing....well, more than I knew before >; ) I'm happy.

3

First off Eugene, no bullet, just a scold. Your blog is WAY to long, it's not a blog it's a rant.
I don't know your financial situation, or much else about you. We've all had doubts at one time or another, I know I did after the shine & awe wore off.
So I stepped back & did some serious research. Ya know what I found out. It's worth it, no doubt. I'm worth it. My goals & dreams are worth it. So whatever it takes, I'll do.
I work 2 & 3 part time jobs & side jobs besides, right now. Give me another 3 months at this, I'll take it on Faith & belief in myself That I'll not work for someone else again.
No guarentees in life. Good luck at WA & life & I'm praying for you.
Jon

7

Lol No scold necessary Jon...If you read my blog clearly you will understand my intent. Not a rant at all and sorry you see it that way. Read it again.
That said You started In August so its early days and a good attitude means a lot.

There was a high rise building window cleaner , who just came off a 2 week positive motivation course.
He lost his footing and was falling from the 60th floor and on passing floor 46 he said to himself " so far so good"

Hopefully this post will aid you too, so we can better align strategy with eventual allpication. Thanks for your time and input

1

Thank you Eugene. I did read it twice, then went to your profile to refresh my memory. So after that, I commented because I believe in researching fully. As I stated, I dug into WAs startup, past, & present traffic. Alexa is a very resourceful tool, not the only one that I use, but a good one. When I had my doubts, I decided to keep them to myself, not infect this wonderful community with my personal negativity. My research dispelled any doubts or worries that I had. Then I told some folks. Since I care about people & my relationships here, I took the time to scold you for your negativity, not intending to cause offense in any way, but since we live in such a negative world most of the time. WA is for me a positive shelter from this crazy negative world, as it is for many others here. Jon

Hi Jon

Again you view things pretty harshly. So what you're saying is noone must share concerns and get answers here,. was i being negative. Yoiu say you read the post twice. Wow . Now im more surprised. Clearly what other correctly perceive a failed to convey to you.
Sorry for that.
As to your statement of me infecting this WA site with negativity. OMW.
If you read all the posts here clearly you would see that was not the case nor any intention. I expressed concerns. Maybe asking questions here is what its about. Why take the long route when we have help here on tap.
Maybe ask yourself why tough questions affect you " as negative" , make you lash out.
Was the offer to ask questions to this site a legitimate offer of not.
I took it as a legitimate offer.
If youre unsure how to reply to others concerns , I can refer you to numerous here, but Il refer one from leoemery. Check it out. Sorry to single out answers.
There are many great ones here. Thank you to all in assisting. It proves a point of support and effort to helping one another.

Lastly lashing out like that after my post was very specific,.....Honestly such a statement from someone. Don't get personal JON.
It tells a story as well. Wishing you well here..

I get what you are saying. About the spreadsheet you generated, you can bet that K & C probably did something similar and that it is probably why they branched out into selling their knowledge. If you think about it, it's a smart business move on their part. They put in their time to consolidate the know-how into a profitable training program for others to do or not do (there's only so many blenders you can sell) , and by doing so double their advertising/enrollment via affiliates. In other words, WE are their new NICHE. People tired of getting scammed. You can't begrudge them for wanting to expand their reach. You don't have to promote for them. You can get your site up and running and THEN start promoting for them if you'd prefer. I do not recall anywhere that it said you HAVE to promote them or else. Maybe the other members who had been here more than a year just felt, that after a year here they were going to devote their time to their own stuff. WA does take up quite a bit of time for us newbies, maybe they reach their goals and then themselves, branched out. What are your plans for a year from now? If successful with what you learn here, are you going to still spend the same amount of time here, or will you devote your time to your own site(s)?

2

Hi Terry
Thanks for your reply.
Firstly I don't begrudge K & C. This is not a negative concerning them. Yes I agree WA is their Niche and they've done a splendid job in the construction development etc as mentioned in my blog post.

Personally I cant see as also mentioned why someone that is successful would want to leave here. Its so well organised and many heads to give views, help, opinions etc. That alone is worth far more than a mere 47$ not true. Me I would certainly stay. It could only benefit not so. further training in new developments are critical.

I don't mind at all any buy ups ito of products offered here. It would serve only to benefit the people here and promote the Niche more.
Again why then the numbers we talk of.
Am I one of the few, who sees the Elephant in the room.
Let me ask you a question. Didn't your goal post of achieving success change from maybe a few months to much longer now. If you had that view initially would you have started up.

Still some people are answering this post mostly in defence without clearly understanding the point of the blog and I warned about it, but alas. Unlike your contribution and a few others.
Thanks for your thoughts . Appreciate.

2

When I was growing up, I used to like to play baseball, now I can't stand to even watch it on TV. My point? Interest change, people change and goals change. Perhaps the successes' are/were so successful they now want another challenge. Maybe these people are of the type to "love 'em and leave 'em", nab it, grab it and run types. I don't care what they are doing now, I don't care if they hit the big time, I don't care why they left (their reasons are their own). I have no need for that information. When I need clarification on something or if I may offer some (unlikely, but I try when I can), then that's when I'll worry about someone else's business or opinion. Just to want the particulars about someone's success from years ago is not a good use of my time. And no, my goals when I started were the same as they are now. REALISTIC! Of course I went to earn more $! Did I/ Do I think it's going to happen within a few months? Hell No! I am computer illiterate! So from my point of view, any progress is progress, and anything Called "progress" is one step closer to my goal. I want to do it right the first time, if that takes more than I was hoping for, then that is MY fault for possibly biting off more than I could chew, not any other being or community. Achieving Success? I'm quite sure that what you refer to as success is waayyy different than my idea of success. >; )

2

Great stuff . Thanks for your input again Terry . Makes a lot of sense.

Thank You. Have a great day ; )

1

Hi Eugene!

I generally keep pretty quite about things (other than the occasional "you're doing great" or "like this") ... unless I have something of substance I think I can add to help other members and myself.

I have a vast background in business management and administration. I have been responsible for over 2,000 employees and have worked solely for myself (and everything in-between).

I have worked in the media (radio and newspaper); staffing and insurance and have owned businesses in trade shows, natural health, and even television shopping. I have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars and yes - earned a few back, too.

The point being this ... no business is easy.

You are right. Many people come and go and for those that leave quickly (in my opinion, less than 2 years) ... they do not have what it takes to be successful. These onlookers truly believe they put in the time, work and effort but in my opinion, they have no clue what it really means to work your tail off and follow the basic rules of entrepreneurship. WA, like any other work-for-yourself business, takes blood, sweat and tears ... patience and time. There are never any payoffs until you've paid your dues.

Again, many people believe they've paid their dues but the amount of success (or failure) they earn is the true identifier of exactly what dues they expected to pay.

I've been with WA for about 6 months with only about 3 of these months actively participating in creating my website. Kyle, himself, strongly urged me to find another niche and quite frankly, I should follow his advice.

I have chosen not to do so. The reason of "why" is so unimportant.

I do not expect to make any money at all for the first 1-1/2 to 2 years.

I also understand that the low cost of premium membership here at WA and the low cost of the monthly fee at Jaxxy are inconceivably ridiculous compared to the cost of other businesses I've opened.

The biggest problem you have (as many do ... myself included) is there is no magic formula for success. What works for one site will not work for another site. True - many people dive in and work the affiliate angle. But since each person has a unique personality and that uniqueness carries over to how they write and how site visitors perceive them equates to the success factor for the site owner.

Your background as an analyst may or may not work for what you're attempting to accomplish here at WA. The reason? Simply because, in the past when you've analyzed a business, you have statistically comparable facts with which to work. Here at WA, how do you get a hold of that information? Again - you are right - most people won't slam out their earnings on this or any other media.

There are never any guarantees in life but sometimes, you just have to grab the bull by the horns and hold on for dear life. If you can ride 'er long enough, then I suspect you will be one of the few who make it to the top.

This is true for any person at WA who has the:

Patience.
Persistence.
Consistency.
A need for eternal self-education.

I hope this helps because I would truly enjoy seeing WA rise to the very top and be the cream of the crop ... and I don't mind for one second rising to the top with them.

God Bless!

Hi Cathy

Thanks for time spent and I agree with most if not all you say.
Clearly we were spun from a similar yarn.

A few points. You say 1 1/2 to two years. That makes more sense, however there are many pointers within the training that talk of a lot less, people who have created traffic and conversions in 6 weeks etc.
It appears there are many other factors involved other than hard work study and application.
Your point of changing a Niche or suggestion was the main reason of my first public question to the WA audience.
What products are the best sellers generally? I think therein lies maybe value as well.

But again based on the qualities needed to make this work , the answers are mostly about knowledge, hard work etc.
I mentioned to a previous member that selling snow to the Eskimos is a hard sell no matter what.
I'm sure there have been people here with your same qualities and experience that didn't make it. The figures of departures tell that it has to be true on average.
My point is are there aspects in IM that take a long time to learn, that once learnt makes one arrive at a point of clarity, or is it a relentless slog in the hope of it eventually working. The only one's to answer that are those doing this successfully.

At the moment you have 6 months experience of which 3 months effective as you say. Looking at your experience I would expect income flow to have started by now. But its clear your expectation as you mentioned being a 1 1/2 to years is a fair one. Was that your view when you started up ?
I don't think 95% of people start up here or anywhere in IM thinking that way.
I think its a realisation that sets in when things don't work out as perceived initially. Is this true?
If so it brings me back to numbers.
I've spoken with some very clued up technical people here at WA who after a year are getting traffic with a few conversions only. They are putting in the hours according to our conversations.

How then do the various training modules add up to traffic if followed religiously. Probably 90 % of people joining are not even remotely as technically skilled as those mentioned above.
Not that tech skills are everything but play a huge part here I think, as its about ranking and analysis of that through various tools allows one to understand progress not true. Not mentioning selling tools even.

Merely pouring water down a tube without knowing the direction and destination the water is landing up is fruitless.
I'm sure none of what I mention you don't know, but because of this, the IM and on-line business is fraught with scams, it would be diligent to ask more questions. btw I was hooked into two scams before landing here.
Thanks again for your input and views.
Wish you the best.

I agree with you water analogy, only because it proves WA's point. If you think of the water as your idea/niche, it will go no-where without guidance. THAT is what K & C are offering/selling here. Are you just upset that it's not all free? Did you have your own web site before joining WA? Do you have one now? How many days did it take you to get one here? How many days do you think it would have taken you to get one one your own? How many scams do you think you would have run across, other than the ones you already know about, before you would have known how to get started with it? Did you already know about SEOs, HTLMs, Webmaster tools etc.? Do you know more than you did before you started here? Did you expect to get rich over night by just "copy/pasting" like the scam site claim?...Or is your original "question" just a big ol' TROLL to get us all riled up X?

I'm shocked at your last part.
Didn't expect overnight success no. But having being exposed to two scam elsewhere before WA I still didn't have enough answers and real information from people in the business that could share their experience.
Troll, which part of anything that I've expressed here , my personal page or other blogs or any content anywhere can make you arrive at such a misguided " childlike" view that I'm the "type" that would even entertain a mere thought of trolling, as you call it , to get people riled up. What part in spending all this time, having to help people get context, so they can do what is supposedly offered here, to help, what part of all this do you think could be fun or purposefully intended.
Sorry I'm not providing more context for you. Really done with that.

And I thought the trolling part above at the top post was a knee-jerk humour you employed to lighten things up...pffft

Are these or are these not your own words (pasted from your very own "blog")" Let's SEE HOW MANY SHOOT THE MESSENGER!" That's where I got the "TROLLING" reference. You obviously got the results you wanted and the fact that you keep stirring it up instead of letting it go, after soooo very many replies, well...

Yes they are precisely my words. Interesting that the very words intent were meant to make people think carefully not to react but to give constructive feedback.
What you saw as A troll set-up was(still cant believe) was my attempt to remove people from reacting.
Why did I suspect a reaction and add this wording even to the beginning of my blog.
Because I've seen a number of posts where people ask easy and understandable Q, and they get slated.
You think those people want to ask pressing Questions in the future? NO !So in spite of trying to avoid such reaction, and make it a valuable blog, it turned for a large part into what now goes on record as a "be careful of your Q" type blog.
Pity..This could have been very valuable
Do we want to create a platform where only certain Q are ok to ask. Perception of things in life drives everything.People that reacted in this blog have done exactly that.

I got some of the results i wanted yes , but not the ones you're inferring I did.
Assume the best in everyone always, and if things seem out of place ask questions to make sure you have a full understanding before jumping to conclusions and shooting from the hip.

Im not stirring up anything. Where I come from and what I was taught is , to always show someone the courtesy of an answer.
Also, If someone makes a statement which is not true, to explain it to clear it up in their mind, without reaction. This I was taught was supposed to be common good manners.

You got your answers, and then some, so let it go. Pick and choose the ones that agree with you and your opinions and move on. Today is another day as will be tomorrow. Try to enjoy them and be productive.

Hello Eugene,
I have to agree with you when you say the training is top notch! My understanding of the WA business is that it exists to do just that, train others in setting up and operating an internet based business.
So I would say that the subscription cost is more than reasonable given the sheer amount of training available.

I am sure, given your expertise, that you have checked out other training sites on the internet and have found WA to be the best. I have a couple of questions for you.

Is it conceivable that after 12 months of training a large percentage of members have reached the point where further training is not required to maintain a viable internet business and so the subscription is no longer justified?

How does the percentage of success in WA members compare to the percentage of any business still in business after 12 months?

I agree that more open discussion of income would be more helpful in negating fear of failure, but really, I have never found any venue where people are open about income. This is unfortunate, since it is hard to know if you are winning the game without a scoreboard.

The bottom line, as I am sure you are aware, is success is the result of persistent effort applied over a significant time. Too many people seem to expect big gains with little effort and so move from one business model to another and upon the inevitable failure of their current business are quick to label the failed business model as a scam rather than accepting it as a failure of their unrealistic expectations.

I did not join WA to make money from promoting WA. I joined to leverage the training into my own opportunity and I hold only myself accountable for my success or failure.

Everyone has doubts and reservations when attempting a new endeavor, I choose to proceed in spite of mine!

I wish you the best as you learn here and build your dream.

Joe

Good answer.

Hi Joe
Great input . Thank you.
To start yes I did the homework hence here at WA..But as mentioned to others I'm not unhappy with WA. I'm elated with the training and many other aspects. So we are in total agreement there.
After 6 weeks I don't want anywhere else.

you said " How does the percentage of success in WA members compare to the percentage of any business still in business after 12 months?"
That's exactly my point. I really don't know as gauging things here after 12 months all I have to go on is membership of the say top 500 members lets say. Pick a number that is better suitable maybe.
Your point that people become successful and no longer need the training is possible yes. I did consider this, but my rebuttal on that was why leave and cancel an almost insignificant monthly membership when up to date changes in this industry will become more than noticed by Kyle and Carson and other successful or knowledgeable people here. Clearly this place would in my view abreast of such things. Also my thoughts are that everyone here no matter how long they have been here, still learn new things. That alone should be worth it.

Your point of a pity not having Income information is very true. You got almost the crux of my blog. Its about being able to have a yard stick to measure failure or success. If able to one can change course, strategy etc . Maybe there is a way we can place a thread where people are urged to divulge a little to give others a yard stick of achievement. Some say its not about others success its about ones own. they miss the point completely. The mere success perceived by them of others has brought them here or to the IM business in the first place.

We both Joined WA for the same reason and yes I hold myself totally accountable for everything that happens or doesn't in my life.
Hence my asking questions that most don't ask and taking that responsibility seriously.
Thanks for your input. It was valuable. Appreciate
I also wish you the best at WA
