I need to remove an old domain which I have replaced and had all the content transferred by WA support to my new domain ? I've been adding content to it now for 4 weeks.
Sent you a PM about this. I think missing out on clicks is a result of deleting the website, so Google had to re-index everything from the new website rather than redirect.
No worries. Your new site is live and running, it'll just take some time to start getting those clicks again.
PS, no need to delete the domain at this point, but you can delete it here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains
Oh Thx Nathaniel
Appreciate. So all is good then.
So what you saying is deleting the old site is not the right thing.
But if my domain is still there, the content would be there too, so then if Google re indexed everything why no traffic for 4 weeks when the site is exactly the same, infarct much more content and organised now as opposed the old one.
I'm trying to get how this all works. Thanks for the time spent helping
Id' love to learn how you got to getting 200 clicks per day so early on. I seem to struggle to get my sites even noticed despite submitting directly to google.
I think this is the webs holy grail, getting traffic. If you can do this you can write your own paychecks
Haha, Jack , you make my day.
I feel so overwhelmed by it all with no conversions after 2 months.
So, in my very limited view and basic opinion ....all I did is look for keywords as per the training and worked them into my content.
I tried to really look for very low QSR keywords/phrases. I only used phrases and not single words.
Some as low as 23, 34 on QSR, but none If I can remember over 150.
Listed only 1 keyword per page but about 9 in SEO.
So I wasn't being clever, I just followed Kyles training but went a lot lower on QSR than the 300 he set as a max in the beginning training,
He does in a later part of the training, talk about as low as possible, so I searched in Keyword tool till I found my list and used them.
I don't have JAAXY full yet.
For the rest I feel like my site is still very un-organised, simple and nowhere close to what I still need to do. I cant even properly work in wordpress yet.
I'm still fumbling like someone trying to strike a match with frozen fingers. Regards
As you have or had good traffic to your old domain, have you considered doing a 301 permanent redirect of your old domain to your new one? Ask support if that's something they can do.
Hi Jack
Well I'm not sure If they did a transfer or redirect. My simple language asked them to do a transfer at the time.
Hope it wasn't my lack of correct terminology that landed me in this soup..lol Wasted 4 weeks of traffic and now another week to get ranked again or SEEN..haha BUUUT it wont ever happen again.
Next time Ill also delete the content of my whole site after creating a new one. Then save then delete Website and Domain. Thanks for your comments.
Regards
Yeah I'm sure when they answer my ticket most will be solved. I was hoping to learn how to prevent and solve the problem. Bill below suggested Google webmaster and it sounds like a great idea what he suggested. Thanks for the help Carla
It can take months for search engine spiders to find your site. Go to Google Webmaster tools and look for the site map builder. Google will build your site map and submit it to their spiders. You will be indexed in a week rather than months. I agree with @teacup.
Oh wow. That's incredible. Wonderful help Billl also when starting a new Niche. Gonna do that for sure. Regards
Unfortunately it may be impossible to erase your previously indexed content. Though I do not know for sure, I would assume there is a set time that Google and other search engines have in place in which content from deleted domains remains indexed...if this is the case you may have to play the waiting game. However, I would look into Google's actual rules and perhaps see if there's a way to have them remove the content. I know there's not much solid help here but these are just my conjectures, hope you can find something useful from this!
Hi Buck, thanks for your help. Yes I was thinking the same if the Domain delete I did doesnt work. Regards
Go to websites and hosting > look up your website and go all the way over to the right and you will see the delete tab. make sure you want to do this!
Thx Shawn. As per my Q above. Thats what I did 4 weeks ago.
Hence my question here. But thanks for spending time.
