How to get your blog posts INDEXED by Google FAST!
Hi everyone,
When it comes to getting traffic from Google, there are two things that must be involved:
- Get indexed
- Get ranked
We want to focus on the first part because that's the foundation on which any ranking is made. If your content is not indexed, it's never going to rank.
Get your posts indexed in minutes
I suppose you are using the WordPress blogging platform. So the first thing you should do is get an SEO plugin that will allow you do things easily. My recommendation is the widely used Yoast. Next, You will have to create a free Google Search Console (GSC) account.
Yoast will help you in 2 things:
- Easily validate your website in your GSC
- Submit your sitemap to GSC
Here are some videos that will help you
- Setting Up & Submitting a Sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools by Video by Kyle
- Google Verification Using Yoast SEO Video by MarionBlack
- Setting Up & Verifying Google Webmaster Tools Video by Kyle
These videos will help you setup and verify your GSC account and submit your Sitemap to it. Note that Google Wedmaster Tool is what's known today as Google Search Console.
Now you have your GSC verified and your Sitemap submitted.
Let's now move forward to getting your articles indexed shortly after they are published on your blog.
- Each time you publish a post, rush to GSC and select the property where you just published the article (assuming you having many properties submitted to GSC)
Then grab the url of your post and submit as follows:
Paste the url of your blog post and click FETCH.
The link will be submitted to GSC. Now click to request indexing
On the window that pops up, pick any of the 2 options:
- Crawl only the URL: This will only crarl the page submited
- Crawl this URL and its direct links: This will crawl the url and any paged linked on it
For me, the indexing takes place in a matter of seconds. That's also partly because of the age of my domain which plays a big part.
So if your site is completely new, while you submit for indexing, focus on getting some quality back links, social shares, onsite engagement through commenting and publishing quality long-from content.
I hope this helps. Don't forget to follow me and let's rock together.

I will make sure to always come up with helpful content here ;)
The days ahead and exciting so let's keep giving
Good information shared, thanks for doing so. What I would also add is to recommend people add the GSC link to their Chrome Toolbar, so that its easily accessible and saves time.
Thanks Enstine for this valuable post. Yes I totally agree with you that these things mentioned in your blog are the most important to be ranked in google. Few months ago, I started focusing upon SEO and keywords. I will read your post again , listen to the videos so as not to apply all procedures and never miss any of them. Wishing you much success in your business!
Rania

Hi! I came across your article today as I am trying to get a article indexed. I have 4 articles so far but this one was first an still has not yet been indexed. I just finished setting up GSC and it has been verified. I'm not sure about submitting sitemaps? Does this automatically happen or is this something I should do? Also i have not heard of yoast so that must mean I didn't put that into my site as well? Is there any way you could help me with some of my questions? I sure would appreciate it and need it ! LOL Sorry for all the questions I'm a new techie person who is just learning the ins and outs of creating a website..
Yoast is a competitor to All-in-One SEO - I do not recommend it. Stick with the stuff WA provides - there is a training from Kyle here on how to set up Search Console that includes submitting a sitemap, which will get you inexed. Setting Up Google Search Console
Thank you! Yes i have the all in one and i would prefer to stick with WA! I did set up search console.. I just can't seem to figure out how to get to the fetch feature?
I am going to run thru that video again that you just sent.. sometimes it takes me a time or two to get it figured out LOL
No problem, good luck.
Thank you so much! Im sticking with all in one
Thank you so much! I decided to stick with all in one
