I would like to update my resume to include my experience and ongoing training at WA. Also to include my website. Wondered if anyone had an ideas or if anyone had done this them

how do i upload my resume?

You simply choose the document (your resume) from your computer's files, then click on "upload" into whatever web page you are wanting to post your resume.

My resume is divided into 6 sections (in the following order):

Contact info (name, address, email, phone)
Skills
Recent experience
Education
Leadership
Past experience

As far as what you have learned here that you can translate into something for a resume, it would depend on your personal experience with WA. Here is a list that I might suggest including on your "skills" section:
WordPress, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Building Websites, Writing, Affiliate Marketing, etc.

I had not thought about it to be honest see Carla has some positive feedback for you

For putting at-home businesses on a resume, I've found that functional resumes are best. A functional resume emphasizes your experience rather than a chronological job listing. If you have both types of experience, there are intermediate forms. Google functional resume. You should get templates you can use. Good Luck!

Thank you, I will look into it :)

How do you remove the image slider with the tiger, better still how do u put your own images to replace the tiger? I've been playing around with it for a new site and can not fo

Hey Emmaline, I know there is a way to do it because that was the theme I used for my everydogdeservesahome.com site. I had to play around with it though before I got it right. I think I went to the blue customize button on the dashboard and then changed the header image. Sorry about the prior misinformation but like I said it did take me a while before I got it right but the tiger image did go away.

Hi Emmaline, I battled the images initially too. Where are you wanting to insert a new image? Is it the home page? I can guide you through it...

Hi ice skater

I have inserted the image, but there is an image already there which slides into 3 images all together. My I age has inserted above but the IMage below I can not remove

Thanks

The tiger is on the original theme. The image changes to 3 different images. I've added my own header and the tiger images are still showing below? Really weird cause I have been through everything?

Does the tiger image show in your Media Library?

No it was already on the theme

Pop me a PM (Private Message)with the site URL. I'll look into it with my tools.

Don't know where the tiger is coming from unless you added that.
The Background image in this theme is added from the Theme Customize. Appearance>>Themes Click customize. Background Image.
Didn't see a way to change the header image, just the background color of the header.

Just checking the Adventure theme. I didn't recall a Tiger image but it may have changed.

The theme is adventure

I don't want to share yet as I'm only just playing around with it! I've added a few pics but my ideas are very new and not wanting to put it out there just yet. I've added a header image and the tiger is still showing below?

You can PM the site to me if you want to keep it private and I can help you figure out where the tiger is coming from.

Themes handle the header image differently. What theme have you chosen?
If you share that, I can grab it and give you detailed instructions.

I have uploaded my image but tiger is still there ?? Confused

Wish I could help, but not that great myself

Go to Appearances, select Header, from there you can remove the tiger image, you should also see an option to upload your own image.

Hi I have also been battling for hours with exactly the same issue. Even if I insert new header images, that does not affect the tigers below, the rotating tigers seem to be set somewhere unfindable unless you have to purchase the pro version to get access to change rotating tiger images. so frustrating I'm beginning to not love tigers that much at the moment!! My daughter tells me the tigers are as good as it gets for a trial version. Bother

On my home page, where my posts are placed. There is knowhere to make comments. I have checked comments on the screen options but does not show anywhere for anyone to post a com

Hope you have resolved this one, I to have noticed this with mine I am hoping to try and do the read more option

I think I read just a bit earlier that you had found how to do this now. Am I correct?

Some training for you put this in the question box at the top of your page "no comment box" you will find some fixes for you

Ahh thank you :)

On the home page, your posts will not show the comment section. If you go to the post itself though it will be there. This is why I use the Read More feature to shorten posts on my home page.

I have seen on someone else's home page, shorten them like you do and there is also a box underneath stating how many comments there are? I have asked them in case there is a plugin or something. Will let you know if I find out anything more.

Thanks for your feedback :)

To show just the summary. I have the optiion which I have checked on my wordpress but does not seem to work :/

Nice thanks to all

I have mine all assigned under categories to keep them organized.

You can also assign them under categories. You have the category option on the right side of your editor.

In the Visual toolbar there is a tab that says "more" place your cursor where you want to cut of the post and click more.

Thanks

Oh thank you :)

You are welcome! That plagued me when I first started, I can understand the frustrations of it.

Should we create them as pages or posts????

Either , but I prefer to do reviews on Pages.

Ray Bowley (Merryman88)

If you have a postroll home page it's better to cretae posts, otherwise it don't matter.

I just looked at your site and it looks like your reviews are pages within a dropdown menu. Am I wrong about that?

No, you're wrong, they are all posts.

Oh, I didn't realize you could have posts show up in a dropdown menu.

I am creating mine as a page

I have been told that Post ranks better than pages

Thanks for your input Bill :)

I usually do most of all my stuff as posts. Pages are used more for things that are one-offs like your privacy policy and about me pages.
If you put it as a post you can set it to a category like Product reviews or something like that. It helps with google.

Yes the category idea, ive heard that Google likes categories. Thank you

I tend to do my reviews as posts. These are then easily categorized and you can still add them to a main menu.

Doug

Thanks that's great :)

Good tip, thanks

I prefer to publish them as pages. I have a tab labeled :Reviews" in my menu tab which has a dropdown list of all my reviews.

Yes, I am thinking the same thing now!

I suggest creating the reviews as pages. Pages appear in your main menu and are always available. Posts on the other hand are the articles you write to support your pages and your niche.

As you build your site and compose more posts, they will go into the archives and be buried within your site. The goal of the reviews page is to sell your affiliate products, which will give you a revenue stream. Hence, you want them visible all the time.

Hope that helps.

Thanks now I guess I really need to figure out how I went my pages to read!

Looking at my site, I did it as a post. I think this is beneficial as it also lets you add categories to it which can help it to be found by your audience.

That is a good point as well. You can do both to get greater exposure in the search engines, but I would definitely make a page for your reviews as well.

Thank you :)
