I built the structure of my site with the content. I have just purchased a new Theme, but I would like to get it all setup with updated content before moving the domain name.
Can I redesign my site and move the domain name later?

The domain remains the same. I have just made a new design with better navigation. So essentially just moving the domain name to another site

What is your top tip for a new Wealthy Affiliate member? If you could go back and start again, would you do anything differently?
I actually have three things.
One is do one lesson, one thing at a time. There is a lot of great information on this site and it's very easy to "jump around" and want to try to learn everything at once.
One lesson at a time, follow as it says. When your done with training there will be plenty of time to learn everything else.
Two is don't "Freeze". "Just Do". I hit a wall for some reason and was almost afraid to post anything. It was odd because I was "all in" and excited etc. But something put me off, with help of friends here in the community and self evaluation I took my first big step and has been easy breezy ever since!
If you find yourself putting things off; reach out for help and inspiration.
Finally, if your putting in work full time or part time be sure to get up and Exercise once in a while! So important because you can easily get hours lost in lessons and learning and in your thoughts and ideas that literally hours can go by.
Exercise and reaching out when in need go a long way!
Most of all don't overwhelm yourself! Take one lesson a day one day at a time! That's my steps on a daily basis!
I strongly recommend every time you log into WA you should FIRST finish the course tasks and later do some networking and reading blogs of other members (if you want to). Your website should be your priority and will bring you money in the future. And the more work you put in it the faster you earn your well deserved income.
Agreed, it helps to complete the training first. There are some rather compelling blogs by WA members, although they are very informative one can easily get side tracked.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If I was starting over I would choose completely different niches and I'd focus all my site on promoting products available on Amazon.
Just focus on one site and take your time choosing the direction you want to go, what niche you think will be right for you. Consider whether you can regularly come up with new content for that niche and research what affiliate offerings are available to you to promote before settling on your niche.
I'd advise against internet marketing/make money online niche to begin with. Start with something else. It's way, way competitive. You can make money in it, but it'll probably take years. I'd also steer clear of beauty, health and fitness too. So many major authority sites to compete with. It's very hard to get top ranking in search engines in these niches.
Yes! I would become premium on day one, and follow all the lessons in exact order. But, the one most important action would be to follow through and do every required activity. In other words, I wouldn't just do the action required. I would work it until I owned It. Dave
In the early days, I had overextended my finances trying a few 'business opportunities' and when it came time to think about upgrading to Premium I wasn't in a financial or time position to do so and had to let my membership slide. I wish I had let those other projects slide instead and concentrated on WA. I restarted a while back now and have been moving forward as best I can as a carer. My tips are the same as everyone else, do the training step by step otherwise you can easily lose yourself. But also to never, ever give up and never let negative people sway you from reaching for your dreams. Ange
I am a new member of WAnand I agree! I went off course and had to go back a where I left off! So really stay focused on the step by step!
Follow the training step by step, take action as you go, stay focused and never give up! Give yourself the time to succeed! :-)
To be honest... My top tip would be not to rush and follow the training in order step by step.
A lot of people jump ahead in anticipation, and although I understand this they can find themselves a little swamped and going off course!
Thats my thoughts anyway :)
Chris
Thanks Chris I agree. I made that mistake..doh. At least I learned a lot in the process and I am making great progress. Admittedly I did go back and check each step again.
Yeah i went back too .. after I realized I was not as smart as i thought i was lol ... btw ... just followed you :)

As an Amazon affiliate who is a foreigner I had to fill out a form stating that I wasn't a U.S. citizen. I pay tax in my own country.
Hello... Are you from outside the US? if you are not an US citizen you have to filled out a tax form claiming you are not an US Citizen and you won't get any tax reduction (it is my experience), of course, it is supposed you have to declare, in your country, that you earn that money... for example, in Costa Rica we have a tax agreement with the US, and the US could report those kind of transactions to CR tax service (I'm not quite sure how that works exactly)..
Amazon sent me a check for my commission without any tax deduction, but the bank here in CR ask me where the money come from, which activity generated that money. It's a small check but I'm pretty sure if the check is big, someone will monitor that transaction.
Hope this helps...

Ey there Anina, are you switching your site over to a brand new domain?
The domain remains the same. I have just made a new design with better navigation. So essentially just moving the domain name to another site
Ah, got it! Did you just switch themes?
