Hi,

I have several comments on a post. However, now when someone tries to leave a comment the page goes white and the comment is not left. Why could this be?

Thank

You have asked a great question and have gotten some terrific answers. Now you just need to pick. Good conversation!!

Tried and True

Hiya Cynthia, when it happened to me it was a conflicting plugin and/or theme... Unfortunately it was a while ago and I can't remember whether it was a plugin or a theme. But I had to deactivate every plugin and theme, temporarily load a new theme and then clear my cache.

I think I would just start with the plugins first and see if it's one of them. If not then move on to changing theme to see if that's the culprit.

Once your comments start appearing you're going to have to activate your plugins one at a time to find the culprit!

Best wishes kiddo!!!

Thanks for your help. I guess I have my day cut out for me!

Hey Cynthia,

Google searched "when someone leaves a wp comment the page goes white and comment is lost" and many posts came back with options on fixing what they called "WordPress Screen of Death".

Apparently, you comment section has become disconnected from the database. Plugins was one of the many suggestions.

Perhaps if you run the same search and read through some of the posts you may discover a fix.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for your help I will read this!

We have themes, plugins and browsers weighing in here. Interesting to see other suggestions!

Some of the themes let you set the number of comments that will be seen check your comment settings to see if that is the problem.

Thanks for your help. I will check this out!

It could be one of the plugins causing it could be one reason.
And sometimes to many plugins.
Or there is an update needed.
Really hard to say have you done anything different recently?
May have to redo if you have that’s what usually causes it.

No haven't changed anything. Thanks for your help. I will keep trying.

Have you tested this with different browsers? If you have and the issue persists I'd reach out to support and see if they are aware of any issues. Are you using any comment plug-ins and the like?

Thanks. I have checked it out in two different browsers.
No no comments plugins being used.
Thanks for your help. I will keep trying to get this fixed.

I have a domain that is expiring in 4 days. I was planning on letting it expire. I was wondering if it is kosher to ask if anyone here wants it. It's a year old.

It's ok. It has been done before.

Thanks

It does not sound to me like that's a problem.

Thanks

I'm like Dena here, I don't know if it's OK or not to ask here in WA.

Thanks

I don't have a clue on this one going to ride along and see what answers you get. sorry could not be of more help.

Thanks

I don't think that a problem.

Thanks

I don't see why this would be a problem as people transfer domains from other sources to WA. Go ahead and ask...

Thanks

I hope someone can help you this answer in WA...
