So, when a completely new person wants to become an affiliate marketer, what's the best advice they can get? Just the one "most important thing"?
Follow Kyle's training and don't stand in a thunder and lightning storm while holding a steel rod.
ha! Not ONLY is that great advice, I love the screen name! Saw it the other day and meant to compliment you on it.
Plan on working hard and know that affiliate marketing takes time, patience, and persistence.
Follow the lessons, do the tasks given.
And make your network big in this community. Follow the Top Members.
Be patient! This is not an overnight delivery.
That's what I've been doing since joining WA on Oct 15. It really helps.
As you can see, I gave several things. There is not "one most important thing". :D
Cheers!

What's the most important tip you can give a new person?

Success is the Journey Not the Destination!
Take action on what you learn and enjoy the journey.
There will be many successes along the way.

Hi, all! My menu works on a mobile device (using iphone), but there's no menu when I look at my site from a computer. I've tried IE and Chrome, and neither of them show my me
This seems to be a theme issue. The appearence of the menu changes depending on the device you are using to look at your site.
When you change from a desktop to a tablet the menu form changes.
I don't know how to change that.
Oh, I see...so maybe I just need to change themes and see if that works properly. I really like that menu instead of the clutter of all the articles.
Thanks for the idea!
I don't know if any themes offer this feature, but if not I did find this video that shows how you may be able to do it. Custom Dropdown Menu Trick Hope it helps!
Good news Chris ( well a bit) I see your menu on my Safari browser on my Mac. Try clearing the cache on your browser.
Oh, actually... you're seeing what I'm seeing. See how you can see all the individual pages at the top? Getting Started, Five Requirements, etc... on a phone, there's a menu so none of those posts show until you click on menu. That's how I want it, not all the posts crammed in under the title of the page. Make sense?
This could be due to the theme you have chosen's mobile view. You can change your menu .. this is an old post but I think it possibly explains what you want How to create a menu
I noticed that, when I pull the page up on my ipad, if there is enough space (when the ipad is in landscape mode) it shows all the headings across the top of the page. If I rotate it to portrait mode, the page shows "Menu". I think it's just a theme thing, though. I might change it later.

Hi, all! So, I'm in the Affiliate Bootcamp. Course 1, Lesson 2, where I'm supposed to create my "getting started" page. Kyle's example is site is how to avoid online scams,
He ChrisLayman, you're getting ahead of me with the lessons! When you understand the mysteries you are finding I will drop by for some pearls of wisdom! Chris
Hey Chris, nice answer, but you have something going for you both that is often missing in those who seek achievement. You are highly motivated, prepared to learn and ask questions and you aim for the sky! Mighty glad to meet you! Best wishes, Chris
I've been trying businesses for 20 years, and just now getting to the point where I feel like I can succeed at something. It's been a long road, and I'm definitely ready to get some good results. :)
Your getting started can be about whatever you focus on at your "wa-site". Even if you have another input than Kyle you can still have wa-banners or links.
Thanks a bunch! I think it ties in pretty well with my sites topic, so I feel pretty good about it. I still have a long way to go, of course... but time will work it out. Thanks for the input!
Hi,Under getting started you could put: Building a website,Ways to make money,What to watch out for, Keyword research and so on.I hope that helps you .

Hi, all! I just put a new article up on a previously-existing website (not very pretty, I know...). I tried to add value and very softly put my WA link in the article. I was
Hey Bro....great article on positive mindset and action! Thanks for sharing....and I just left you a comment on that article...hopefully it's helpful to ya.
Just FYI....You can also write one blog post per day here within your WA profile. Google "knows" wealthy affiliate very well, and EVERYTHING you post here on WA gets indexed in Google very quickly, so if you want "more exposure" for your blog articles right out of the gate by both Google and from the WA community members, then write your blogs here until you get through enough training and have your website set up the way you want it (but even after that, you can still continue to write blogs here as well as on your site to increase your exposure).
Matter of fact, after you've been a premium member for over three months, then the blog limit of one per day here is lifted and you can blog more than one time per day. Plus, after that time frame, you can then also begin writing and posting "Trainings" here within the WA community...which adds to your "Authority" and your "Exposure."
Those are just a few tips to help you get rolling, but here are some links to related training that may help you along on these topics as well....
