Keyword research is vitally important for creating quality SEO content if you want to get high rankings in Google. But have you ever wondered what might be the best free keyword research tool available online?

If you are a premium member of Wealthy Affiliate you have access to one of, if not the best free tool I have ever used for doing research, in my opinion. Understanding how to do keyword research is not hard. Simply put your keywords are mostly names of products or questions people type into Google.

WHY I USE THE WA KEYWORD TOOL

Other than it being totally free to use for an unlimited amount of searches, I like the WA keyword tool for its simplicity in use. I basically research keywords the same way I do searches in Google. I ask questions or I type product / service names into the search bar.

  • How to make money online for free = 10501 Monthly Searches / 205 QSR
  • Treatments for type 2 diabetes = 41136 Monthly Searches / 249 QSR
  • Free online games for children = 280 Monthly Searches / 56 QSR
  • Boys Nike basketball shoes = 238 Monthly Searches / 53 QSR
  • Essential oils for cancer = 704 Monthly Searches / 125 QSR
  • Lose weight fast without exercise = 748 Monthly Searches / 134 QSR

Using the WA keyword tool for research is simple. Just like above you would type in your keywords the same way you would in Google. Then you click Search for Keywords and view the results. Always look for keywords that have more than 50 Monthly Searches and have a QSR of less than 300.

Personally I will rarely use a keyword that has a QSR of more than 250 and definitely look for keywords that are under 100 QSR. Using the WA tool makes it easy because you can rearrange the order of keywords from best to least, dig on a particular keyword, and other simple features.

NOTE: I have seen many new members ask if they should use keywords that have <10 searches and traffic. Unless it is a new product or service you are promoting, NO, you should not use that keyword. Why is that?

How can you seriously attract people with a keyword that gets less than 10 people who search it every month? Less than (<) 10 could mean 9 people, 1 person or anywhere in between. So do not even bother using keywords that have those numbers, no matter what the QSR is.

If you want to experience the best free keyword research tool, I highly recommend the WA keyword tool that can be found at the link in the left side menu on this screen. If you are a premium WA member you have unlimited free access to this tool. To learn how to use this free tool, click the links below.

I use the WA keyword tool and have been really happy with it.

I do too Jim. In the 3+ years I have used it, it has never let me down on finding great keywords.

Great one about keyword
I currently use it every day

Thank you, happy you liked it.

Yep, I'm perfectly happy with the WA search. A short time ago, I found a keyword with close to 250 searches per month and QSR of 93. I felt like I'd hit the jackpot. It's funny what things can be motivating, but that did it for me. I felt that if I could find a few more like that, I'd have it made.

Keyword research, for me, can be somewhat addicting when I start finding great low hanging fruit keywords. This is something I have done so much in the past years and have even been paid by others to do it for them.

Thanks for sharing your tips, Robert.

You are welcome Tessa

Great advice...thank you!

You are welcome Arthur.

Thanks for sharing. Also for your comment on your personal use of the keyword tool.

You are welcome Kevin

Yes, I tried Jaaxy for a while but I couldn't justify the extra price.

Other than the extra features of Jaaxy, the WA Keyword Tool is programmed to do keyword research exactly the same as Jaaxy but for free.

I can't figure out how to DELETE keywords in a saved list. I also can't figure out how to DELETE a particular saved list. Do you cover that somewhere?

I do not know of a way to delete individual keywords in a saved list. However it is very easy to delete an entire saved list. Just select the list or lists you want to delete and then click Delete Selected at the top of the page.

Oh, I see "Delete Selected" now. (Didn't notice that before.) There should be a way to delete individual keywords in list without deleting entire list, though. It doesn't seem to make sense to not be able to delete individual keywords.

I agree.

I guess I'll send Kyle a PM and ask about that.

Right, ma'am. I just wanted to guide you but you had already figured it out by yourself. Awesome :)

I tried to send Kyle a PM, but apparently he's away for a few days. I plan to contact him when he gets back. I actually don't know the answer at this time.

I see that Robert has already answered you. And I agree, it's a shame that such a useful tool does not allow to delete individual keywords. Yes please, it would be grand if you could let us know what Kyle advises you when he is back!!

Giulia

I would assume that having the ability to delete individual keywords from a saved list would be a nightmare to program. Being that the saved lists are part of a saved database of individual lists, making changes to those individual lists would require a fair amount of coding. Basically too much work for a feature that can be easily handled by those who have originally saved the list.

Maybe that's it; too much coding or work to provide the feature of being able to delete individual keywords. Or maybe there is a way. I'll contact Kyle in a few days and let you know when I get an answer.

FYI, just got the following reply from Kyle about whether one can delete specific keyword/s from saved keyword list: "At this point no, but we have several improvements coming to KW lists and this is going to be one of them."

Excellent, it does make sense. Thanks for letting us know BooBish, much appreciated.

Awesome!

thank you for lighting on WA keyword research.

You are welcome.

I agree Robert that this is a really useful tool that we have access to here...I do use other tools, but generally I start here and then for some of the results I dig further...

The reason I use other tools is that I am using the end results for e-commerce sales...I look for sales volume, trends, popularity, price, sourcing, etc. then make decisions on what products to pursue...

Good post!

Dave : )

If one wants to do more in depth research for things such as ecommerce I can see using other tools. But for the basics of research for SEO content the WA keyword tool, which is programmed the same as Jaaxy without the bells and whistles, is more than effective.

Agreed....
