Hello everyone, I have written my first product review: http://fastweightlosstipstoday.com/reviews-2 and would appreciate comments on it: too long? too short? enough links? is i

Terrific review and a great product. Little typo in your last sentence...

Ha! Thank you very much - not enough coffee yet!

Hi, I left you a comment. Great job with the article. I'd like to know where you got the other images, besides the products from Amazon?

Hi, Starcreator, Thank you for having a look and your feedback - I appreciate it! I got many of my images from Wikimedia Commons, some from this site: http://www.freeimages.com/ ; photopin.com, and pixabay.com. Have a great day!

I have left a comment for you on your site. I think that your mixture of text and images is really great. Too often sites have too much text that is not broken up by images.

Thanks posinfo, I think so too; there is a "right" balance of text and images; too much of either can negatively effect the post. Thank you for your input and comment!

That's a very well written and laid out post, plenty of images easy to understand and follow,as well as being pleasing to the eye
Well done keep going like that, see if you can get a video on your site from U TUBE on this, and it will complete this, already excellent review

Barry

Thanks so much bazboy247 - I attempted once to add a video and, wasn't successful : ( but, will try again, I agree videos add so much. Many thanks to you!

Hi Bonnie - I left a comment on your post - Your site is nice and clean and easy to Navigate - so well done. On your blog post I would maybe explain the benefits of the product and list some Pro's and Cons as well. Colin

Hey, BlueDot, that's a great idea: pros and cons, and expand more on the benefits - much appreciate you looking at it and leaving a comment!

Hi all - I have a question that may seem silly, but I can't find any info on it, so here goes: I know HOW to link images, I just don't know WHAT to link them to? Can anyone help

I give you the same suggestion like swedenrocks does.

Thank you all very much, I was struggling with this one. I have affiliate links, which I got from the seller and have placed some of their links on those images, which in turn leads BACK to their store. Some images pertain to the article, but aren't affiliate links; maybe I'll just default those to no image like Jaweda2k suggested. Anyway, very nice getting help here when needed. Thanks a bunch!!

Well, what I know is if it is a product image then linking it to the store it is being sold from is the right option, if that's what you mean.

if you click on the image you will get an edit or delete icon. Click on the pen icon and you can add your custom link, You can then add your domain name. You can also change the size, or if you want it on the left or right.

If the picture pertains to the post I will link it to the page I have for the link to my affiliate all the best

Generally I default to no links for images. If it is a review of a product I will then link the product images to the affiliate link (using Pretty Link). On rare occasions I will link to the image itself if one would need to be able to see it bigger to view/read properly.

What do i link my images to?

Hi all - I have written this article: http://fastweightlosstipstoday.com/fitbit-connected-health-and-fitness and have placed the link to my review page very near the beginning o

I agree with what bluedot's suggestion

Any external Links going to a resource away from your website (affiliate links) - should be placed below the fold (ie not visible until you scroll down the page) - just that google prefer this - Reason being is that a lot of spam related ads are place in the head of the article (top of the page) and Google decided to change this.

Yes you may be penalized if you do this meaning your page will rank farther down the line.

Social media links are OK to remain at the top of the page - Colin

Including the sidebar?

That is really valuable to know (Google penalizing for link above the fold). Thanks I certainly will remember that.

Yes including the side bar - ads on your site need to be below the fold

In training we learn to place links in appropriate places. Text links are especially cool and discreet. What you want to do on a getting started page is have about 3. One to a review, one to another page, maybe about me, and another to products you are advertising at or near the bottom.
You want to grab your traffics attention by giving them different options then just reading all the way down to the bottom. So Kyle will write a post, about whatever, then have three links within. One going to possibly a different post with the same relevant content, another mid way showing a lesson or niche within WA, then the third going to his review page later on at or near bottom. Once they go to his review page, he then does it all over again, only this time, he sends them to WA near or at the bottom.
But busygirl is correct also.

Thank you! This is so helpful as I do not want to over saturate my page with too many links. I appreciate your help!

I am a bit confused... if I click on Zip I go to the blog, if I click on FitBit I go to their page (I am assuming this is your affiliate link to the FitBit page). Shouldn't this be one text link to FitBit instead of two links? If your post is long enough, you can have one in the middle and then finish it up with another at or near the bottom.

Also, I am wondering why when I click on your graphics it just takes me to a new window with the graphic? I do not know why some websites do this, or how they do it, because I was putting in links from my graphics to go to other pages or posts on my site (trying to keep my visitors poking around my site longer). Maybe some other WA members want to comment on graphics and when people click on them - where should the images direct our visitors?

Hi, BusyGirl, yes I did something incorrectly with the click on Zip to the blog and click on FitBit to their page. My head is swimming right now, but I became a little confused trying to steer my post info to my review. ARGH, it's been a long day! I'll fix it tomorrow! Thank you so much for looking and commenting, it is immensely helpful!

I put it at bottom that way easy click on after read it.

Thank you - that makes perfect sense!
