Amazon Keeps Making Me Happy (Keep 'Em Pounds Coming!)

Last Update: May 05, 2018

Some of you have seen my recent post about me having a huge sale on Amazon.com that brought me over $30+ in commissions.

By the way, I had such huge response there, over 350+ in comments! (Including mine, of course). Thank you very much WA fam.

Anyway, today, I check UK Amazon and I see my first ever UK commission ...

And it's huge too!

A whopping £13.70! (Had to copy-paste the pounds sign because I've no idea where it is on a keyboard lol).

In the last 7 days, I had 30 clicks, and 1 ordered item.

I mean this is super impressive given that it's my first sale from AmazonUK and the product bought was my niche.

In fact, I have all the reasons to believe that someone followed my recommendation, added to Prime and had the ordered product delivered the same day.

Tip of the day: don't leave money on the table and add OneLink or any other plugin that allows you to direct your visitors to an Amazon store of THEIR country.

Hi Zarina,

You are my source of information (and inspiration) regarding selling Amazon products on a niche websites. I am also following Dylan's teaching (@dylanrieger) and have already made so good sales. I have a question about linking various countries to my main Amazon account (which is USA) and would very much appreciate it if you would give me the answer:

As said, my main Amazon Associate account is USA, then I linked the UK, Canada and France as I have a lot of traffic coming to my niche sites from these countries. I have given my payment details for commissions on my USA main account. I am asked to do same for each other countries I have registered with. Do I have to do that for each one of them, or will the commissions coming from sales from these countries be regrouped into my USA account?

Thanks for your help Zarina.

Best wishes from the south of France!

Awesome! Zarina

That looks like a trickle of a wave that is probably brewing to explode soon.

Love to read these types of inspiring stories.

It's kind of like the first person who found the first tiny little nugget of gold during the gold rush. Then BAM!

Congratulations! and hope that wave comes soon for ya!

Us Brits are usually tight when it comes to spending money (unless it's down the pub), so an almost 500 quid sale is an achievement lol.

You're quids in! Ker-Ching!

Happy Days, Zarina! :)

LOL. Apparently Canadians too! I've been getting clicks for months and only now I've received commissions from there lol. And my gf has told me about pubs haha

The Americans are the big spenders lol.

Maybe you should try a craft beer/ale niche too lolz

SO happy for you! Just one question -- why not use OneLink? I thought that was the magic elixir which allows people outside the USA to connect to your link on Amazon in their own country? Otherwise they will be charged all sorts of tariffs and shipping fees. Is this not correct? Thank you!

Zarina Premium
That's the one I use :)

Okay I read your sentence wrong — “don’t leave money on the table and add OneLink”. — I thought you meant not to add it. Now I see that wasn’t what you meant. Thanks for clarifying!
Reply
Zarina Premium
Maybe I didn't construct my sentence properly, lol!

I am a bit confused by your tip of the day ?
Reply
Zarina Premium
There is a geographically targeting plugins that direct your visitors to an Amazon store of THEIR country. For example, someone from UK if he's directed to an AmazonUS then you won't get commissions, unless you have that plugin.
Reply
NiteshMistry Premium
many thanks for for the explanation, do you know the name of the plug in that I can download?
Reply
Zarina Premium
I personally use OneLink - it's from Amazon itself (check Amazon for more info).

Amazon has those kinds of issues with country of origin for your visitors. Other merchants use things like IP sniffers to automatically change to the right landing page, or give the consumer the chance to change the country via a drop down menu or something like that. Most other merchants do not have issues with a shopper coming from another country.
Reply
Zarina Premium
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the plugins that offer drop down menu or something - I wish I knew how those huge websites offer AmazonUS AmazonUK AmazonCA right in one spot but for now I am keeping it simple :)
Reply
JeannineC Premium
It's called an IP sniffer - it 'sniffs" where the IP is located and changes the page presented accordingly. I don't believe it's a plug-in.

I live as well in the UK! If on my pages I have the UK link, do people from other places get directed automatically to their country’s link?
Reply
Zarina Premium
Yes, IF you have OneLink or some other special plugin that has a job to direct your visitors to a store of their own country. Because if you don't have it and they go to US Amazon on their own (even after following your UK link), then you will miss out on commissions.

Congratulations! And great tip about directing Amazon visitors to their own country. And on a funny note, my partner is English (lives here in US, family back home), and the constant conversions of pounds and dollars, and temperature, and measurements, is both amusing and enough to make my eyes crossed, so I chuckled about your copy and pasting of the pound the sign. :-) Again, congrats!
