6 Things That Determined My IM Success
There have been a few things that I have learned a long the way and these are the 6 things that took me from finding out what a domain name was to actually making an income online.
1.Commitment – the first thing I did was to commit to internet marketing, I left no other options on the table than to make this work. If you are still thinking - well if this doesn`t work I will move on to something else... then you are not 100% committed.
2.Take Action – reading up on internet marketing and learning the basics is a must but never be afraid to take action. For this to take off and go anywhere you have to implement what you learn. You have to take action to get the ball rolling. You will never be ”finished” with learning new things about IM but you can implement what you have learned this far and adjust along the way if you have to.
3.Make Misstakes – whaaat fail? As long as you are learning from your mistakes you are not failing. As long as you get up brush off and keep going you are in the game! Making mistakes is a great way to learn and make them right the next time.
4.Focus – focus, focus, focus on your one project. Get that off the ground to a level where you`re happy with it. Starting with 3 different websites at the same time is NOT a good strategy. Focus on one thing at the time.
5.Patience – building a website will take time, getting a good amount of traffic will take even longer. You have to be patient, you are building your business over time. Add two posts weekly to your site and that is 104 in a year... if you are consistent it will build over time.
6.Push through Ups and Downs – how you react to the downs after some success will determined if you are REALLY in it for the long term. When you have done this for a while and you are getting rankings, you are getting traffic, you are getting sales... most likely there will be a time where traffic is decreasing and sales are dropping.
Will you continue to plug away or will you give up? Might as well make that decision now!

Lovely post, Veronica. I started my IM business while working a PT job (plus have two young boys, etc...). I planned on IM being "in the background" but something fun to focus on when the kids went to school.
Turned out opposite for me- I've fallen so in love with this work that I've put everything else (except for family) in the background and made WA my focus!

I know exactly what you are talking about. This is truly a great way to combine kids/family and your own business. You can work your own schedule and still get plenty of time with the family.

Wow! Veronica, you are a pure inspiration. I will definitely print this out and hang it and read it daily. I know everyday has it's challenges and I face a different one each day. These 6 things will make my climb a lot easier.

Your post is so true, you need to have all 6 of these things to be successful. Never giving up is important. I haven't made any sales yet, but I know it takes time and I will keep plugging away at it. It's not even all about the money for me, as I really enjoy what I am doing. I hope the money does come, but in the mean time, I am having fun.
If you do something you truly love, then it doesn`t feel like work sounds like IM is just that to you which will carry you through.

Hey Veronica - fantastic advice for everyone - many people without knowing it are just moments away from the success they want.
If success was easy we would all experience it - it's the people that have the never give up no matter what attitude that succeed.
Talk to ANY successful person and they can tell you so many stories of how they failed - but they will never tell you that they gave up.
And I love tip umber 3 - you even spelled mistake wrong - LOL

That is just it, every successful person have lots of "projects" that failed. I love the saying "the only failure would be to quit" as long as you keep at it you are getting closer and closer to that success.
