That can be different per theme, most of the time the blogroll takes the image you add as a featured image, but one of my themes takes the first image on my blog. So on that theme, I start with an image on top from 560x315.
When you don't see the place to add a featured image, you need to go to screen options on top, and click the box before it, it will appear on the right side of your post in edit mode.

Probably the 'set featured image' function on your post. You could try that and see if it displays.

I use SharaSale. They are relatively easy to use. As RosieM just said, After you login you apply to each individual merchant you wish to promote and make sure you stick by that merchant's guidelines. The Place to find merchants you can potentially work with is under the "Merchants" tab. Then select "Search for Merchants." You will then see a screen where you enter in a keyword to find appropriate merchants. For example, on my site http://goldandsilverinvestors.org/, I promote several companies that sell gold bullion and gold and silver coins. I use "gold" and "silver" as keywords and found several merchants that I currently work with. Hope this helps.

In Shareasale, you apply to each individual merchant you wish to promote and then abide by that merchant's guidelines. Each merchant provides their own banners, etc. to use in your promotion. Make sure you abide by both Shareasale rules and those of the merchant.

Hi I am with ShareAsale any type of product that you want to promote you need to apply to each one. On every offer there is an "apply for this offer" button.

When you joined, you should have gotten an email with the subject, so you joined shareasale - now what,
That email links to brief tutorials
Also, when you log in, at the top click, merchants, then you can search for merchants etc,
Just have to fiddle with it a bit

Hi I don't know anything about shareasale, but if you type that in the search bar above alot comes up, blogs, questions etc. Otherwise I would go to their site and poke around, there has to be something on there to get you started :-)

You can also go to the section where you manage your websites and click the tab at the top that says email and select your account after you have created it and send and receive email directly from the client server. However, it's not an ideal email setup so, you can have mail forwarded to any other account you have. (Gmail, outlook, etc.) all the best
