Why a full section is dedicated to your "mindset"? Most people underestimate their power, their potential, and ultimately what they can achieve.

First off we would like to explain how people think about the "successful" few. You have probably heard the Pareto Rule in the past that 20% of people hold 80% of the money. This is probably fairly close, but it is likely closer to 10% of people hold 90% of the money in the world.

You may have also heard "the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer".

Think about these two items for a second...

10% of the people in the world have 90% of the money. And the rich continue to get richer while the poor continue to get poorer! This seems like a highly lop-sided world that we live in and that is because it is!

To understand the "mindset" we will look at the people that succeed (the 10%) first and then we will look at the remaining 90%.

The 10%

These people have figured out the formula for success (the hard part). Once you have figured out how to make your first $100 (or $1 for that matter), you have done something right. Formulas can be duplicated, built upon, and continually improved to further success.

There have been many millionaires (and billionaires) that have lost their entire fortunes to bad luck and economic downturns, only to make it back a couple years later. The reason being, they know the mindset it takes to achieve success and they have their own formula for achieving this.

All successful marketers here at WA have their own formulas. No two people do things exactly the same, but if you follow the principles taught to you here, have an "action based" approach to everything, and work towards creating your own formula for success, you will see results.

The other 90%

If you haven't succeeded yet, you are likely in this category. This does not mean that you have not experienced success at one point or another, it means that you have not created sustained success. You simply do not have your formula down yet, but chances are you are very close.

We truly believe that the 10/90 are not averages that apply to Wealthy Affiliates here as success can happen to anyone and everyone that sets foot into this community.

The 90% are willing to work hard, but they typically don't have the mindset to move through failure in a nice way. People that fail (the 90%) remain in this category, whereas the 10% view failure as an opportunity to succeed. By learning what won't work, you can move closer and closer to what works. Once you find out what works for you, you can build upon this to create even greater success. They say the first million is the toughest...and this is because once you know success, you can leverage your existing skills and patterns to build upon that!

The $1 Feeling (That Makes You Want to Dance!)

The first $1 is always the most important. The reason for this is because the first sale typically triggers the reality that "this is real". People tend to realize that if they can make $1 online, they can make $100...or $1,000...or $100,000. The reality of it is that the first sale is one of the most exciting and memorable events in any Internet marketer's career.
