Recommendations for video equipment?
Hello Friends,

Hey Verna,
Depending on your budget, you could start with the camera in your cell phone.
This would enable you to do videos with a selfie stick and/or a tripod with a tripod mount or clamp.
If you do not have a reliable cell phone camera, you could simply use your webcam and OBS Studio... which is FREE... and many professional vloggers (content creators who use video to communicate with their audience) use.
If you have a bigger budget, you could add in a green screen in which you can get in many different sizes, depending on your requirements.
Hope you find this helpful.

Choosing a theme is one of the most difficult things to do as a newbie. It's not technically difficult but lots of free themes like GeneratePress have serious limitations in the free versions.
One great theme for newbies is Kadence it launches superfast and is relatively easy to use. The paid version has more features, but for newbies you can use this theme for your first year
Thanks Catherine. I would like to find a theme for promoting affiliate products that will be able to grow with me. I really don't want to have to change the theme again. Are there any free themes that can keep up with growth of affiliate marketing products? I wanted to try the GeneratePress theme since it seems to be highly recommended. This is the first time hearing that the free version has a lot of restrictions! Can you clue me in with what kind of restrictions GeneratePress has. Thanks for this information.
You can try it but you cant customize a lot of things. Icant remember what exactly I used it for ten years but I haveused Kadence foe the last five years or so. I had the paid version og Generatepress my beef was it was so slow to load
Hey Verna,
The following tutorial may offer you help in changing your theme: Changing Themes Depending on the theme you select or move from (Example: leaving Thrives themes was LOTS of work!), it could take a lot of focus, yes.
But... if the theme you're using at present is pretty basic and the one you choose to move to is also basic, it could be as simple as a click.
You may find many of your themes no longer required. Only making the change will help you determine the necessity.
What you could do is have a copy of your website moved (ask SiteSupport) to the SiteRubix server where you can work with it offline.
This way, if you make a boo-boo... you won't need to panic, as no one else will see it.
Hope you find this helpful.
Thanks Trish for your help. I am rethinking changing my theme if I could come up with a nice way to integrate pages for solely promoting affiliate products. What type of theme have you found that works well?
The themes I have found that work well for me are those the others have already mentioned to you, which is why I did not state them.
They are GeneratePress Premium and Kadence.
I love Kadence for the simplicity and ease of creating an entire website and/or a simple landing page, funnel, squeeze page, or whatever you want to call it.
Thanks, Trish. I will look at Kadence, but I think I would like to keep the theme I have been using for affiliate marketing. Now that I'm back, I want to start promoting affiliate products. Not sure how to start setting it up, I have to review how to use the "Block" style because I think I can set the product images up using that. I thought some people just set up specific pages to promote the affiliate products. Have to do some training search to see if I can find more information on how to do that. Let me know if you know about any training out there for that. Thanks again for your help.
Hey Verna,
It might be a better idea to go back to the start and go through the training BEFORE you begin making ANY changes to your website.
Reason I'm suggesting that is that there have been so many changes on the internet that you do not want to miss out on some vital new step you might overlook if you do not redo the training.
It is up to you as to where you actually start again... but that is where I highly recommend that you focus starting, in order to save you time and frustrations later on.
Thanks Trish. That is what I have been doing since I came back. I have also been catching up on all the latest updates Kyle and Carson have made here at WA. I haven't started doing anything yet to my site. But, as I am reviewing the lessons, I am making a list of anything that comes to my mind that I need to do to my site to help improve it. And, if something I come across sparks a question, I check in with the community and make note of the responses that I need to keep in mind. There is much catching up before I start doing anything to my site. I started a side hustle while I was gone and plan to build a second website for that. So, I think I may start on the second site using the training I did when I first joined WA. That way I can kill two birds with one stone!
Verna
Smart cookie! Good stuff... keep up the great work and you'll have a site that ROCKs real soon. I'm betting on it!
If you are unhappy doing it, you may also call upon site support.

To change your theme, here is what to do.
You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.
Input what you are looking for, install, and activate.
Your content will be left intact; you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if, however, with a bit of tweaking, you are done.
We always recommend leaving a backup theme; you may do so with the Twenty TwentyThree.
I hope this helps

Hello Community Friends!
I have recently returned to WA and have a lot of work to do to update my affiliate website. I also want to create a page to promote my affiliat
I have used Astra and GP Premium in the past. Now I use Kadence Theme (free) and Blocks for everything.
:-)
Richard
I use Kadence to promote WA, they have free starter templates its awesome to use. Best wishes to you in deciding.
Do you use it solely for WA promotion or do you also use it for other affiliate products? Thanks for your feedback.
Solely promote WA, that's it. One site is the WA affiliate boot camp. The other is for the WA PPC site for ads in Bing and Google. Both are using the Kadence free starter theme along with Kadence blocks. The speed is incredible. For me, the starter template was easy to work with. There are a lot of YouTube Kadence tutorials. I watch them to learn how to use it. It's cool. The other affiliate product promotion is under Tools I use, which I affiliated for like WordPress, SEO tools like Rank Math pro, funnel builders, and plugins (pro versions), all of which I use every day for my sites.
As Abie says, the majority use GPP here, including me and its a theme that works well and covers most bases, for a very affordable price yearly.
the ones you mention I have tried and stopped using Astra, because I did n't like it, and GPP covers most bases as I have said. Thats my take on it.Welcome back to WA, wise move to get back in the saddle. I haven't used Blocksy, so Abie might be able to give more insight into it.
Thanks Dave for your recommendations. I think I will try the Generate Press first because that one is on my list and I haven't gotten a few recommendations for it.
I use Blocksy Agency, but I also have the GeneratePress premium, Divi, and Oxygen. I tried the Thrive suite, but I wouldn't say I liked it.
The majority here uses the GneratePress.
I would test it first before buying in because that can be expensive.
You want to ensure they are responsive, extremely light, fast, well-coded, SEO optimized, flexible, adaptable, and customizable.
You may try GeneratePress or Premium, where you can extend the theme and have many layout templates.

The Jaaxy Lite plan shows up my end... Are you sure you're looking at the right page? (this one: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jaaxy)
Thanks Dale, but this is the link that made me think that Jaaxy Lite no longer existed. But I did check the link you provided and see that Jaaxy Lite is still there. I'm still confused because your link shows that Jaaxy Pro (which I currently have is only $19.00 per month) but the link I gave shows that Jaaxy Pro is $49.00!!
The link I gave you is from a page directly on Jaaxy!

For people outside of WA (non-WA members), Jaaxy Pro is $49 mo.
The discounted price of $19 for Pro is only for WA Premium members.

Hi Jude,
Are you referring to Jaaxy Pro or Enterprise? I have it as $19 mo. with WA Premium and Enterprise is $49 with WA Premium.
Are you saying Jaaxy Pro is $19 with WA Premium and $49 without being Premium member? What is the Enterprise rates?
Thanks for your response.
Hi Verna, I should have made that clearer. The monthly Jaaxy price that is part of the WA Premium membership is:
Lite $0
Pro $19
Enterprise $49
For people who do not join WA, Jaaxy standalone price is:
Pro $49 mo.
Enterprise $99 mo. - as per attached.
~Jude
Yes, I saw that image. That's why I sent you my question, but after I did I saw that there are even more changes to the options for purchasing (monthly, yearly, and now for 6 months)!
I had already updated my WA review, but now I have to update it again to include this very latest payment options.
Thanks again for your help!

Hello All,
Somehow I never noticed that Google must have changed my information on a post I did in 2015. It is actually my static home page! I see that when Google doe
Jovo gave you the correct answer and I would add that Google has said ever since I could remember that they reserve the right to display whichever sbippet they feel that best describes the answer to the query typed into search.
Thanks for the response Robert. I just updated the article and made adjustments to the Meta-Title and Description and am now moving on since it appears there is nothing much I can do about it.
I'll check back in a few to see in Google accepted my changes.
Appreciate your time.
Verna
Do not delete and do not re-post. You can change what you want but do not touch the url, change the date as you wish.
The meta title and meta description are only your suggestions to Google. They may use it, or may not. There is nothing you can do except to make it relevant to the post.
But even this is not enough simply because Google shows different things to different visitors simultaneously, based on their search history
Thanks Jovo. I didn't make any changes as far as the URL. I updated the article and changed the Meta-Title and Meta-Description and keywords.
I guess I have to wait for Google to crawl the page again to see if they make any changes that I used.
Appreciate you taking the time to respond. Thanks.
Verna
It's my understanding that Google will sometimes choose what snippet to show. Did you submit your updated Meta title and description on your Search Console? It could take some time to show up.
I'm not too sure what happens when you delete a page. Especially one thats been indexed. I look forward to the responses on that one.
I know sometimes it can take a while, but I am going to do a "fetch" on Google if it hasn't changed yet.
